In this paper, we propose a new combinative scheme to combine with parity check and block coding methods for the reduction of the peak to average power ratio (PAPR) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system. In the proposed schemes, the simulation results shown that Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) can be reduced by 3.502 dB. The results of this mapped can be shown that PAPR is reduced. The principle of the scheme is illustrated with the specific example of an eight-carriers signal and its computer simulation results. All simulation results have compare with ideal channel case and AWGN case separately; both of cases are shown the PAPR reduced indeed. Do Horng Guo received his B.S. Degree in Computer Communication from Northrop University, Los Angeles, USA, in 1986. He is enrolled in Ph.D program in Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering of Tatung University from 2001. His current interest includes wireless communication system and digital signal processing. Chau-Yun Hsu received his B.S. degree M.S. and Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from Tatung Institute of Technology, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1981, 1983 and 1988, respectively. He was the lecturer in Department of Electrical Engineering of Tatung University from 1983 to 1985. From 1988 to 1997, he served as the Associate professor of Tatung University. Since 1998, he has been the Chair Professor of Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering of Tatung University. Now he is also the chair of department of Electrical Engineering of Tatung University. His current interest includes Wireless Channel Model and Estimation, Machine Learning, Digital Signal Processing and Image Processing.  相似文献

Selection-and-stay combining (SSTC) is addressed and its outage probability is derived for dual-branch diversity on correlated Nakagami fading channels. In the SSTC scheme, the receiver uses the branch with a larger signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) until its SNR is lower than a preset threshold, and selection combining (SC) is used only at the switching instance. Numerical results from analyses and simulations are also presented.  相似文献

A 1-V integrated CMOS current-mode boost converter implemented in a standard 3.3/5-V 0.6-/spl mu/m CMOS technology (V/sub TH//spl ap/0.85 V), providing power-conversion efficiency of higher than 85% at 100-mA output current, is presented in this paper. The high-performance boost converter is successfully developed due to three proposed low-voltage circuit structures, including an inductor-current sensing circuit for current-mode operation with accuracy of higher than 94%, a precision V-I converter for compensation-ramp generation in current-mode control, and a VCO providing supply-independent clock and ramp signals. Moreover, a proposed startup circuit enables proper converter startup within a sub-1-V supply condition.  相似文献

We propose a novel high-speed magnetooptic (MO) modulator based on the optical excitation of surface magneto-plasmon (SMP) waves in bismuth-substituted yttrium iron garnet (Bi-YIG). A model describing magnetization dynamics of the Bi-YIG film is used in conjunction with an SMP reflectivity model to evaluate the performance of the device. In developing the reflectivity model, the dispersion relation for the SMP waves at a Bi-YIG-metal interface is derived. The optical response of the device is modeled for various driving pulses, and the performance of the device is discussed in terms of response time, efficiency, and bandwidth. Using practical material parameters, it is found that the modulator has an improved efficiency over MO modulation devices relying on bulk propagation for comparable driving current pulse durations, as well as the added benefits of a miniature design, multigigahertz operation, and tunable bandwidth. The analysis presented here provides a useful framework for the design and development of magneto-plasmon photonic devices.  相似文献

In this paper, a joint spectrum sensing and accessing optimization framework for a multiuser cognitive network is proposed to significantly improve spectrum efficiency. For such a cognitive network, there are two important and limited resources that should be distributed in a comprehensive manner, namely feedback bits and time duration. First, regarding the feedback bits, there are two components: sensing component (used to convey various users' sensing results) and accessing component (used to feedback channel state information). A large sensing component can support more users to perform cooperative sensing, which results in high sensing precision. However, a large accessing component is preferred as well, as it has a direct impact on the performance in the multiuser cognitive network when multi‐antenna technique, such as zero‐forcing beamforming, is utilized. Second, the tradeoff of sensing and accessing duration in a transmission interval needs to be determined, so that the sum transmission rate is optimized while satisfying the interference constraint. In addition, the aforementioned two resources are interrelated and inversive under some conditions. Specifically, sensing time can be saved by utilizing more sensing feedback bits for a given performance objective. Hence, the resources should be allocation in a jointly manner. Based on the joint optimization framework and the intrinsic relationship between the two resources, we propose two joint resource allocation schemes by maximizing the average sum transmission rate in a multiuser multi‐antenna cognitive network. Simulation results show that, by adopting the joint resource allocation schemes, obvious performance gain can be obtained over the traditional fixed strategies.Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The dual‐branch selection‐and‐stay combining (SSTC) is analyzed for diversity reception on independent and correlated Nakagami‐m fading channels, where the conventional selection combining (SC) is employed only at the switching instance, and the receiver uses the selected branch till its signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) estimation is lower than a preset threshold. In this combining scheme, the receiver only needs to continuously estimate the SNR of the single selected branch. For the performance analysis of SSTC, the switching rate and the average bit error rates (BERs) of different binary coherent and non‐coherent modulations are evaluated. Numerical results based on the analysis and simulations are illustrated. According to the analysis and numerical results, the SSTC outperforms the existing switch‐and‐stay combining in the senses of the average BER and switching rate. In this paper, the response to the first harmonic component (2f) of the electrostatic force in single terminal driven electrostatic comb-drive and parallel-plate drive was used as a signal to extract device parameters, namely, the Q-factor and resonant frequency instead of the fundamental (1f) resonance response. It is shown that the difficulty in motional measurement due to electrical cross-talk (parasitics) using 1f measurement can be overcome with a higher signal-to-noise ratio of the 2f signal. Both atmospheric (low-Q) and reduced pressure environment were investigated using off-chip electronics and lock-in amplifier. The measurements were done on the electrostatic comb-drive and capacitive parallel plate sensing plates that form the two core modules of a yaw rate sensor (dual-axis resonator). The effects of AC and DC bias voltages on the measured response have been investigated. Experimental amplitude and phase response data have been analysed using the Lorentzian curve-fit, Resonance Curve Area (RCA) method, the half-power bandwidth method (3 dB) and the Nyquist plot for data fitting and determination of the Q-factor and resonance frequency.  相似文献

Neural networks have been used in various applications on the World Wide Web, but most of them only rely on the available input-output examples without incorporating Web-specific knowledge, such as Web link analysis, into the network design. In this paper, we propose a new approach in which the Web is modeled as an asymmetric Hopfield Net. Each neuron in the network represents a Web page, and the connections between neurons represent the hyperlinks between Web pages. Web content analysis and Web link analysis are also incorporated into the model by adding a page content score function and a link score function into the weights of the neurons and the synapses, respectively. A simulation study was conducted to compare the proposed model with traditional Web search algorithms, namely, a breadth-first search and a best-first search using PageRank as the heuristic. The results showed that the proposed model performed more efficiently and effectively in searching for domain-specific Web pages. Current SoC design trends are characterized by the integration of larger amount of IPs targeting a wide range of application fields. Such multi-application systems are constrained by a set of requirements. In such scenario network-on-chips (NoC) are becoming more important as the on-chip communication structure. Designing an optimal NoC for satisfying the requirements of each individual application requires the specification of a large set of configuration parameters leading to a wide solution space. It has been shown that IP mapping is one of the most critical parameters in NoC design, strongly influencing the SoC performance. IP mapping has been solved for single application systems using single and multi-objective optimization algorithms. In this paper we propose the use of a multi-objective adaptive immune algorithm (M2AIA), an evolutionary approach to solve the multi-application NoC mapping problem. Latency and power consumption were adopted as the target multi-objective functions. To compare the efficiency of our approach, our results are compared with those of the genetic and branch and bound multi-objective mapping algorithms. We tested 11 well-known benchmarks, including random and real applications, and combines up to 8 applications at the same SoC. The experimental results showed that the M2AIA decreases in average the power consumption and the latency 27.3 and 42.1 % compared to the branch and bound approach and 29.3 and 36.1 % over the genetic approach.  相似文献

With ever-increasing concerns on our environment, there is a fast growing interest in electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid EVs (HEVs) from automakers, governments, and customers. As electric drives are the core of both EVs and HEVs, it is a pressing need for researchers to develop advanced electric-drive systems. In this paper, an overview of permanent-magnet (PM) brushless (BL) drives for EVs and HEVs is presented, with emphasis on machine topologies, drive operations, and control strategies. Then, three major research directions of the PM BL drive systems are elaborated, namely, the magnetic-geared outer-rotor PM BL drive system, the PM BL integrated starter-generator system, and the PM BL electric variable-transmission system.  相似文献
