A simple, rapid method, based on high performance liquid chromatography, h.p.l.c., is described for the determination of olaquindox in pig feeds. The drug is extracted from the feed by use of a methanol-water mixture, an aliquot is injected on to the h.p.l.c.-column and quantified by u.v.-detection. The method has been tested on feeds and premixes containing olaquindox between 1–400 mg kg?1.  相似文献

In this work, the effect of the concurrent presence of B and P on bulk and solar cell properties of directionally solidified multicrystalline ingots from commercially compensated solar grade silicon (SoG‐Si) feedstock produced by Elkem Solar was investigated. The initial B and P content prior to the directional solidification experiment was 1260 and 762 ppba, respectively. Two reference ingots have been solidified in a silica crucible from 100% electronic grade silicon (EG‐Si) feedstock, with 332 ppba of boron added. All ingots have been cast under similar process parameters. The resistivity measurements by Four Point Probe (FPP) are in good agreement with the net dopant content, i.e., NAND for p‐type material, measured by Glow Discharge Mass Spectrometer (GDMS). Bulk lifetime measurements show a decrease in the values compared to the EG reference. Lifetime distributions show the highest values of 13 and 19 µs at approximately half ingot height, compared to 30 and 44 µs in the reference ingots. This decrease can be due to the concurrent effect of compensation and of other impurities present in the ingot. However, the content of several transition metals measured by GDMS at half ingot height was not significantly higher than that of the reference ingots. Oxygen content as measured by Fourier Transform Infra‐Red (FTIR) spectroscopy shows no significant difference compared to the references. Solar cells made from the compensated ingots and processed under standard process conditions show efficiency values up to 15.5% and fill factor values up to 78%, comparable to conventional multicrystalline silicon cells. Four tunnel junction (TJ) designs for multijunction (MJ) solar cells under high concentration are studied to determine the peak tunnelling current and resistance change as a function of the doping concentration. These four TJ designs are: AlGaAs/AlGaAs, GaAs/GaAs, AlGaAs/InGaP and AlGaAs/GaAs. Time‐dependent and time‐average methods are used to experimentally characterize the entire current–voltage profile of TJ mesa structures. Experimentally calibrated numerical models are used to determine the minimum doping concentration required for each TJ design to operate within a MJ solar cell up to 2000‐suns concentration. The AlGaAs/GaAs TJ design is found to require the least doping concentration to reach a resistance of <10−4 Ω cm2 followed by the GaAs/GaAs TJ and finally the AlGaAs/AlGaAs TJ. The AlGaAs/InGaP TJ is only able to obtain resistances of ≥5 × 10−4 Ω cm2 within the range of doping concentrations studied. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper a transport equation is derived which describes the behaviour of the nanostructured metal oxide films in a photoelectrochemical cell. It is shown that a detailed analysis of the charge compensation mechanism necessarily leads to a transport equation with characteristics similar to but logically distinct from the pure diffusion equation. The studied phenomenon was named ambipolar diffusion in the early 1950s. It takes into account the fact that the diffusion processes of ions and electrons occur at different speeds. A weak electric field therefore couples the processes together to preserve charge neutrality. The electric field in turn affects the transport resulting in a deviation from purely diffusive behaviour. However, this has not been widely recognised in the literature for nanostructured semiconductor films until very recently. In this paper a detailed analysis is presented. It is based on the assumption that the current density is solenoidal. It is shown that application of the ambipolar diffusion model to a photoelectrochemical cell based on a nanostructured metal oxide film leads to an additional term in the transport equation, rather than only a new diffusion coefficient as in earlier work. It is also shown that the boundary conditions interact closely with the equation to form a transport model.  相似文献

In Longissimus muscle from a F(2) population of Duroc×Berlin Miniature Pigs, micro-structural fibre traits and fatty acid composition were investigated to calculate correlation coefficients between these traits and meat quality. The animals of the F(2) population exhibited low carcass weight (55.7±11.2 kg), low meat percentage (35.0±8.4%) but a relatively high intramuscular fat content (3.52±1.44%) compared to pure bred animals (F(0)). No unacceptable meat quality was observed. The variation coefficients of carcass composition, muscle fibre traits, and fat traits were high enough to allow the analysis of candidate genes which influence the growth of muscle fibres, fat cells, and meat quality. Phenotypic correlation coefficients between muscle fibre characteristics and meat quality traits were low whereas fatty acid composition and meat quality were more closely related. The correlation coefficients between muscle fibre traits and fatty acid composition ranged from 0.10 to 0.40. The relationship between a low quotient of n-6/n-3 fatty acids in muscle and greater fibre sizes, higher percentages of the oxidative fibre type and higher capillary density was noteworthy indicating good conditions for muscle growth and meat quality.  相似文献

The acceptance of many foods is related to traditional cooking practices, which create taste and texture and are important to digestibility, preservation, and the reduction of foodborne illnesses. A wide range of compounds are formed during the cooking of foods, a number of these have been shown to lead to adverse effects in classical toxicological models and are known as food processing contaminants (FPC). It is essential that the presence and effects of such compounds alone and in combination within the diet are understood such that proportionate risk management measures can be developed, while taking a holistic view across the whole value chain. Furan and alkylfurans (principally 2‐ and 3‐methylfuran) are highly volatile FPC, which are formed in a wide range of foods at low amounts. The focus of research to‐date has been on those foods, which have been identified to be most consequential in terms of being sources of exposure, namely jarred and canned foods for infants and young children (meals and drinks) and coffee (roast and ground, soluble). This report presents (i) new industry data on the occurrence of furan and methylfurans in selected food categories following previous coffee studies, (ii) the most salient parameters that impact furan formation, and (iii) aspects of importance for the risk assessment.  相似文献

The efficacy of botanicals in medicines can be substantiated with evidence on traditional use, whereas in foodstuffs, this is often not possible. In Europe, for example, the evaluation and subsequent authorization of health claims on herbal dietary supplements (HDS) have been put on hold by the European Commission. This study aims to analyze the role of evidence on traditional use in international legal frameworks of foods and pharmaceuticals. Both legal sources as well as scientific studies offering insights into these regulatory frameworks were included into the analysis. The international approach toward evidence on traditional use for substantiating efficacy of botanicals varies highly. For herbal medicines, substantiating efficacy with evidence on traditional use is possible in all studied jurisdictions, except for Japan and the United States. HDS efficacy can only be substantiated with evidence on traditional use in India and New Zealand, although the enforcing authorities do not describe which data are required. Australia and Canada regulate botanicals in a separate “borderline” category from foods and pharmaceuticals. Both jurisdictions allow for substantiating efficacy with evidence on traditional use. This study's second objective was to assess the applicability of the international approaches in the European legal framework, in light of the ongoing political debate regarding the use of traditional evidence. Implementation of the analyzed international approaches would require major revisions of the current European legal framework. This review of international approaches might, however, aid in deciding upon future approaches for substantiating health claims with evidence on traditional use.  相似文献

The preparation of a cup of coffee may vary between countries, cultures and individuals. Here, an analysis of nine different extraction methods is presented regarding analytical and sensory aspects for four espressi and five lunghi. This comprised espresso and lungo from a semi-automatic coffee machine, espresso and lungo from a fully automatic coffee machine, espresso from a single-serve capsule system, mocha made with a percolator, lungo prepared with French Press extraction, filter coffee and lungo extracted with a Bayreuth coffee machine. Analytical measurements included headspace analysis with HS SPME GC/MS, acidity (pH), titratable acidity, content of fatty acids, total solids, refractive indices (expressed in °Brix), caffeine and chlorogenic acids content with HPLC. Sensory analysis included visual, aroma, flavor and textural attributes as well as aftersensation. The technical differences in the extraction methods led to a higher concentration of the respective quantities in the espressi than in the lunghi. Regarding the contents per cup of coffee, the lunghi generally had a higher content than the espressi. The extraction efficiency of the respective compounds was mainly driven by their solubility in water. A higher amount of water, as in the extraction of a lungo, generally led to higher extraction efficiency. Comparing analytical data with sensory profiles, the following positive correlations were found total solids ? texture/body, headspace intensity ? aroma intensity, concentrations of caffeine/chlorogenic acids ? bitterness and astringency.  相似文献
