Undoped self-assembled GaN quantum dots (QD) stacked in superlattices (SL) with AlN spacer layers were submitted to thermal annealing treatments. Changes in the balance between the quantum confinement, strain state of the stacked heterostructures and quantum confined Stark effect lead to the observation of GaN QD excitonic recombination above and below the bulk GaN bandgap. In Eu-implanted SL structures, the GaN QD recombination was found to be dependent on the implantation fluence. For samples implanted with high fluence, a broad emission band at 2.7 eV was tentatively assigned to the emission of large blurred GaN QD present in the damage region of the implanted SL. This emission band is absent in the SL structures implanted with lower fluence and hence lower defect level. In both cases, high energy emission bands at approx. 3.9 eV suggest the presence of smaller dots for which the photoluminescence intensity was seen to be constant with increasing temperatures. Despite the fact that different deexcitation processes occur in undoped and Eu-implanted SL structures, the excitation population mechanisms were seen to be sample-independent. Two main absorption bands with maxima at approx. 4.1 and 4.7 to 4.9 eV are responsible for the population of the optically active centres in the SL samples. 相似文献

Multifunctional thermoplastic main-chain benzoxazine prepolymers were synthesized and systematically varied in their structure in order to function as high-performance toughener additives. Their unique chemical composition allows multiple covalent crosslinking with many thermoset network systems including benzoxazines and epoxides in conjunction with a defined chemical induced phase separation (CIPS) upon curing. This was successfully shown using a benzoxazine-based thermoset resin matrix as an example. The corresponding morphologies were addressable in a predictable manner and brought into context with the obtained macroscopic mechanical and thermal properties. In this relationship the CIPS process was classified and compared with the literature in more general means for advanced morphology control by differentiating between covalently attached and so-called gradient domain structures. The prepolymers were characterized by 1H NMR, FT-IR, DSC and TGA. The thermoset morphologies were investigated by TEM and AFM. The fracture toughness (KIc) and the elastic modulus (E) were measured by fracture and three point bending experiments. Thermal properties of the resulting films have been tested by DMA. 相似文献

Within this study relationships between material formulation and processing parameters and the morphology (vacuole formation) of thermotropic systems with fixed domains (TSFD) for overheating protection purposes were investigated. Main aim was on improving light shielding efficiency of TSFD based on UV curable acrylate resins by optimization of selected key parameters including photo‐initiator type and content, type of reactive diluent, radiation intensity/dose, and thermal treatment of layers during manufacturing. Variations of type of reactive diluent and thermal treatment had a minor effect on overheating protection performance. Utilization of photo‐bleaching photo‐initiator of acylphospine oxide type instead of a blend of conventional Type I (α‐hydroxy ketone type) and Type II (benzophenone) photo‐initiators enabled reduction of radiation dose to achieve properly cured layers. The results revealed that a significant reduction of radiation intensity/dose prevented formation of vacuoles. Consequently, light shielding efficiency of TSFD was enhanced significantly. A combined experimental and modeling study is performed to clarify the isomer-specific combustion chemistry in flames fueled by the C3H4 isomers allene and propyne. To this end, mole fraction profiles of several flame species in stoichiometric allene (propyne)/O2/Ar flames are analyzed by means of a chemical kinetic model. The premixed flames are stabilized on a flat-flame burner under a reduced pressure of 25 Torr (=33.3 mbar). Quantitative species profiles are determined by flame-sampling molecular-beam mass spectrometry, and the isomer-specific flame compositions are unraveled by employing photoionization with tunable vacuum-ultraviolet synchrotron radiation. The temperature profiles are measured by OH laser-induced fluorescence. Experimental and modeled mole fraction profiles of selected flame species are discussed with respect to the isomer-specific combustion chemistry in both flames. The emphasis is put on main reaction pathways of fuel consumption, of allene and propyne isomerization, and of isomer-specific formation of C6 aromatic species. The present model includes the latest theoretical rate coefficients for reactions on a C3H5 potential [J.A. Miller, J.P. Senosiain, S.J. Klippenstein, Y. Georgievskii, J. Phys. Chem. A 112 (2008) 9429-9438] and for the propargyl recombination reactions [Y. Georgievskii, S.J. Klippenstein, J.A. Miller, Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys. 9 (2007) 4259-4268]. Larger peak mole fractions of propargyl, allyl, and benzene are observed in the allene flame than in the propyne flame. Flame-sampling molecular-beam mass spectrometry of premixed, laminar, low-pressure flat flames has been demonstrated to be an efficient tool to study combustion chemistry. In this technique, flame gases are sampled through a small opening in a quartz probe, and after formation of a molecular beam, all flame species are separated using mass spectrometry. The present review focuses on critical aspects of the experimental approach including probe sampling effects, different ionization processes, and mass separation procedures. The capability for isomer-resolved flame species measurements, achievable by employing tunable vacuum-ultraviolet radiation for single-photon ionization, has greatly benefited flame-sampling molecular-beam mass spectrometry. This review also offers an overview of recent combustion chemistry studies of flames fueled by hydrocarbons and oxygenates. The identity of a variety of intermediates in hydrocarbon flames, including resonantly stabilized radicals and closed-shell intermediates, is described, thus establishing a more detailed understanding of the fundamentals of molecular-weight growth processes. Finally, molecular-beam mass-spectrometric studies of reaction paths in flames of alcohols, ethers, and esters, which have been performed to support the development and validation of kinetic models for bio-derived alternative fuels, are reviewed. 相似文献

The melt quality of an LM25 aluminum casting alloy has been examined using reduced pressure test (RPT) measurements, porous
disc filtration analysis (PoDFA), and fatigue and tensile tests. The aim of this study was to determine the existing melt
quality and thus to evaluate methods used with respect to monitoring and improving melt cleanliness. Special emphasis was
given to the influence of oxides. It was found that the melt quality has varying degrees of effect on the tests used. The
results indicate in particular that it was necessary to distinguish between “new” oxides (bifilms) and “hard” inclusions in
the melt, as new oxides impact on porosity, whereas hard inclusions impact on ductility. Based on the results of this study,
