Ag-doped tin-sulfide thin films were deposited with in spray pyrolysis method at T = 425 °C on soda lime glass substrates. The effects of Ag doping were investigated on the structural, optical, and electrical properties of thin films. Double deionized water was used as a precursor solution in which tin chloride (SnCl45H2O) and thiourea (CS(NH3)2) in addition to silver acetate (AgC2H3O2) were dissolved. All in all resulted to preparation of SnS2:Ag thin films with \(\frac{{\left[ {\text{Ag}} \right]}}{{\left[ {\text{Sn}} \right]}}\% = 0, \,1, \,2, \,3\, {\text{and}} \,4\,{\text{at}}.\%\). The (001) plane is the preferred orientation of the SnS2 phase which is analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The intensity of mentioned peak has an increasing trend, generally, with increasing Ag doping concentration. Thin films have spherical grains as is shown in SEM images. Increasing doping concentration from 1 to 4%, causes decrease in: single-crystal grains from 14.68 to 6.31 nm, optical band gap from 2.75 to 2.62 eV, carrier concentration from 3.11 × 1017 to 2.58 × 1017 cm?3, and Hall mobility from 1.81 to 0.13 cm2/v s, as well as increase in: average grain size, generally, from 70 to 79 nm and electrical resistance from 11.11 to 181.26 Ω cm, respectively. The majority carriers are electrons for these films as is concluded from Hall Effect measurements.  相似文献

We developed a numerical tool to investigate the phenomena of aggregation and clogging of rigid microparticles suspended in a Newtonian fluid transported through a straight microchannel. In a first step, we implement a time-dependent one-way coupling Discrete Element Method (DEM) technique to simulate the movement and effect of adhesion on rigid microparticles in two- and three-dimensional computational domains. The Johnson–Kendall–Roberts (JKR) theory of adhesion is applied to investigate the contact mechanics of particle–particle and particle–wall interactions. Using the one-way coupled solver, the agglomeration, aggregation and deposition behavior of the microparticles is studied by varying the Reynolds number and the particle adhesion. In a second step, we apply a two-way coupling CFD–DEM approach, which solves the equation of motion for each particle, and transfers the force field corresponding to particle–fluid interactions to the CFD toolbox OpenFOAM. Results for the one-way (DEM) and two-way (CFD–DEM) coupling techniques are compared in terms of aggregate size, aggregate percentages, spatial and temporal evaluation of aggregates in 2D and 3D. We conclude that two-way coupling is the more realistic approach, which can accurately capture the particle–fluid dynamics in microfluidic applications.  相似文献

Location detection and disambiguation from twitter messages   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A remarkable amount of Twitter messages are generated every second. Detecting the location entities mentioned in these messages is useful in text mining applications. Therefore, techniques for extracting the location entities from the Twitter textual content are needed. In this work, we approach this task in a similar manner to the Named Entity Recognition (NER) task, but we focus only on locations, while NER systems detect names of persons, organizations, locations, and sometimes more (e.g., dates, times). But, unlike NER systems, we address a deeper task: classifying the detected locations into names of cities, provinces/states, and countries in order to map them into physical locations. We approach the task in a novel way, consisting in two stages. In the first stage, we train Conditional Random Fields (CRF) models that are able to detect the locations mentioned in the messages. We train three classifiers: one for cities, one for provinces/states, and one for countries, with various sets of features. Since a dataset annotated with this kind of information was not available, we collected and annotated our own dataset to use for training and testing. In the second stage, we resolve the remaining ambiguities, namely, cases when there exists more than one place with the same name. We proposed a set of heuristics able to choose the correct physical location in these cases. Our two-stage model will allow a social media monitoring system to visualize the places mentioned in Twitter messages on a map of the world or to compute statistics about locations. This kind of information can be of interest to business or marketing applications.  相似文献

A widespread supposition on mixed-model assembly line-balancing problems assigns a task, which is shared between two or more models to a single station. Bukchin and Rabinowitch (European Journal of Operational Research, 174:492–508, 2006) relaxed the restriction for mixed-model straight-line assembly line problems and allowed tasks common to multiple models to be assigned to different stations, called task duplication. In this paper, considering the same relaxation but for mixed-model U-shaped assembly lines, a novel genetic algorithm (GA) approach for solving large-scale problems is developed. Although superiorities of U-shaped assembly lines over straight lines have been discussed in several articles, this paper makes the advantage more tangible by providing a quantitative example. This paper also presents a novel two-stage genetic algorithm which is fittingly devised for solving the new proposed model. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the GA, one small-scale and one medium-scale problem are solved using both the proposed GA and Lingo 8.0 software, and the obtained outcomes are compared. The computational results indicate that the GA is capable of providing high-quality solutions for small- and medium-scale problems in negligible central processing unit (CPU) times. It is worth mentioning that, for large-scale problems, such as Kim and Arcus test problems, no analogous results for those obtained by our proposed GA exist. To conclude, it can be said that the proposed GA performs well and is able to solve large-scale problems within acceptable CPU times.  相似文献

In this research, the influence of nanoclay on urea–glyoxalated lignin–formaldehyde (GLUF) resin properties has been investigated. To prepare the GLUF resin, glyoxalated soda baggase lignin (15 wt%) was added as an alternative for the second urea during the UF resin synthesis. The prepared GLUF resin was mixed with the 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5% nanoclay by mechanically stirring for 5 min at room temperature. The physicochemical properties of the prepared resins were measured according to standard methods. Then the resins were used in particleboard production and the physical and mechanical properties of the manufactured panels were determined. Finally, from the results obtained, the best prepared resin was selected and its properties were analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR), and X-ray diffractometry (XRD). Generally the results indicated that the addition of sodium-montmorillonite (NaMMT) up to 1.5% appears to improve the performance of GLUF resins in particleboards. The results also showed that nanoclays improved mechanical strength (modulus of elasticity (MOE), Modulus of Rupture (MOR), and internal bond (IB) strength) of the panels bonded with GLUF resins. The panels containing GLUF resin and nanoclay yielded lower formaldehyde emission as well as water absorption content than those made from the neat GLUF resins. XRD characterization indicated that NaMMT only intercalated when mixed with GLUF resin. Based on DSC results, the addition of NaMMT could accelerate the curing of GLUF resins. The enthalpy of the cure reaction (ΔH) of GLUF resin containing NaMMT was increased compared with neat GLUF resin. Also the results of FTIR analysis indicated that addition of NaMMT change the GLUF resins structures.  相似文献

The effect of compounding method is studied with respect to the rheological behavior and mechanical properties of composites made of wood flour and a blend of two main components of plastics waste in municipal solid waste, low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE). The effects of recycling process on the rheological behavior of LDPE and HDPE blends were investigated. Initially, samples of virgin LDPE and HDPE were thermo-mechanically degraded twice under controlled conditions in an extruder. The recycled materials and wood flour were then compounded by two different mixing methods: simultaneous mixing of all components and pre-mixing, including the blending of polymers in molten state, grinding and subsequent compounding with wood flour. The rheological and mechanical properties of the LDPE/HDPE blend and resultant composites were determined. The results showed that recycling increased the complex viscosity of the LDPE/HDPE blend and it exhibited miscible behavior in a molten state. Rheological testing indicated that the complex viscosity and storage modulus of the composites made by pre-mixing method were higher than that made by the simultaneous method. The results also showed that melt pre-mixing of the polymeric matrix (recycled LDPE and HDPE) improved the mechanical properties of the wood–plastic composites.  相似文献

Herein it is demonstrated that electrohydrodynamic co-jetting is not limited to Janus-type particles, but can also be used for the preparation of core/shell particles. Using side-by-side flow of miscible polymer solutions, electrohydrodynamic co-jetting offers an elegant and scalable route towards preparation of core/shell particles with otherwise difficult-to-prepare particle architectures, including particles with hydrophilic shell and core. Throughout this study, electrohydrodynamic co-jetting of aqueous solutions consisting of a mixture of PAAm-co-AA and PAA is used, and a range of different types of particles with distinct compartments are observed. Transition from Janus particles to core/shell particles appears to be caused by changes in the relative conductivity of the two jetting solutions. After crosslinking, the core/shell particles are stable in aqueous solution and exhibit reproducible swelling behavior while maintaining the original core/shell geometry. In addition, the pH-responsiveness of the particles is demonstrated by repeatedly switching the environmental pH between 1.3 and 12. Moreover, the core/shell particles show surprising uptake selectivity. For instance, a 450% increase in uptake of 6-carboxyfluorescein over rhodamine B base is found.  相似文献

Effect of temperature on hygroscopic thickness swelling rate of lignocellolusic fillers/HDPE (high density polyethylene) composites was investigated. The composites were manufactured using a dry blend/hot press method. In this method, powder of plastic and dried powder of lignocellolusic material were mixed in high‐speed mixer and then the mixed powder were pressed at 190°C. Lignocellolusic fillers/HDPE composites panels were made from virgin and recycled HDPE (as plastic) and wood sawdust and flour of rice hull (as filler) at 60% by weight filler loadings. Nominal density and dimensions of the panels were 1 g/cm3 and 35 × 35 × 1 cm3, respectively. Thickness swelling rate of manufactured wood plastic composites (WPCs) were evaluated by immersing them in water at 20, 40, and 60°C for reaching a certain value where no more thickness was swelled. A swelling model developed by Shi and Gardner [Compos. A, 37 , 1276 (2006)] was used to study the thickness swelling process of WPCs, from which the parameter, swelling rate parameter, can be used to quantify the swelling rate. The results indicated that temperature has a significant effect on the swelling rate. The swelling rate increased as the temperature increased. The swelling model provided a good predictor of the hygroscopic swelling process of WPCs immersed in water at various temperatures. From the activation energy values calculated from the Arrhenius plots, the temperature had less effect on the thickness swelling rate for the composites including wood sawdust compared with the rice hull as filler and the composites including recycled compared with the virgin HDPE as plastic. Withdrawal and lateral resistance of wood screw in three hardwood species of beech (Fagus orientalis Lipsky.), hornbeam (Carpinus betulus) and poplar (Populus deltoides 75/51) were studied. Measured values of ultimate withdrawal resistance of wood screws were compared with predicted values. Moreover, shear strength parallel to the grain of wood as an input parameter of the expression given by Eckelman was measured. Measured values of lateral resistance of wood screw connection were compared with predicted values of yield limit equations, and dowel bearing strength of wood as the input parameter of yield limit equations was measured. Results show that the expression by Eckelman gives a more accurate prediction than the expression given in NDS. Furthermore, yield limit equations accurately predicted observed yield mode, and in the three species lateral resistance was predicted lower than the measured values.  相似文献
