Photo-induced molecular alignment behavior of azo dye derivative (sodium 4,4′-bis (4-hydroxy-3-carboxy-phenylazo) benzidine-2,2′-disulphonate: SD1) was investigated using SD1 film prepared by spin-coating method. As-prepared SD1 film was composed of an amorphous layer with smooth surface. Upon linearly polarized UV light irradiation, the film surface was roughened slightly and X-ray diffraction measurement and transmittance electron microscope observation indicated that SD1 molecules crystallized with orientation. Molecular plane of SD1 aligned parallel to the substrate surface along the normal to the polarization direction of irradiated UV light through the trans-cis and cis-trans isomerizations of the azobenzene chromophore. 相似文献

The ATF2 gene encodes alcohol acetyltransferase II, which catalyses the synthesis of isoamyl acetate from acetyl coenzyme A and isoamyl alcohol. To characterize the ATF2 gene from the bottom fermenting yeast Saccharomyces pastorianus, the S. pastorianus ATF2 gene was cloned by colony hybridization using the S. cerevisiae ATF2 gene as a probe. When an atf1 null mutant strain was transformed with a multi-copy plasmid carrying the S. pastorianus ATF2 gene, the AATase activity of this strain was increased by 2.5-fold compared to the control. The S. pastorianus ATF2 gene has 99% nucleic acid homology in the coding region and 100% amino acid homology with the S. cerevisiae ATF2 gene. Southern blot analysis of chromosomes separated by pulse-field gel electrophoresis indicated that the ATF2 gene probe hybridized to chromosome VII in S. cerevisiae and to the 1100 kb chromosome in S. pastorianus. As S. pastorianus is thought to be a hybrid of S. cerevisiae and S. bayanus, the S. bayanus-type gene, which has a relatively low level of homology with the S. cerevisiae-type gene, is also usually detected. Interestingly, an S. bayanus-type ATF2 gene could not be detected. These results suggested that the cloned ATF2 gene was derived from S. cerevisiae. Analysis using an ATF2-lacZ fusion gene in S. pastorianus showed that expression of the ATF2 gene was relatively lower than that of the ATF1 gene and that it is repressed by aeration but activated by the addition of unsaturated fatty acids. P- and n-type channel thin film transistors (OTFTs) were fabricated by using hexadecahydrogen copper phthalocyanine (H16CuPc) and hexadecafluoro copper phthalocyanine (F16CuPc) molecules, respectively. Top-contact and bottom-contact source-drain configurations were used for both semiconductors. Furthermore, the temperature and film thickness dependences on the mobility values were measured in the saturation regime of source-drain current. Unipolar mobilities in such single-layer OTFTs were correlated to thin film morphology by X-ray diffraction analysis and atomic force microscopy measurements. The side reactions of triclosan (2,4,4'-trichloro-2'-hydroxydiphenyl ether, TC) and chlorine in the presence of sodium chloride were investigated. In the absence of sodium chloride, three chloro-derivatives of TC, 2',3,4,4'-tetrachloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether (3-Cl-TC), 2',4,4',5-tetrachloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether (5-Cl-TC), and 2',3,4,4',5-pentachloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether (3,5-Cl(2)-TC) were formed, whereas in the presence of sodium chloride, 3-bromo-2',4,4'-trichloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether (3-Br-TC), 5-bromo-2',4,4'-trichloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether (5-Br-TC), (3 or 5)-bromo-2',4,4',(5 or 3)-chloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether ((3,5)-(BrCl)-TC), and 3,5-dibromo-2',4,4'-trichloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether (3,5-Br(2)-TC) were additionally formed. Radiochemical neutron activation analysis indicated that 1g of commercially available sodium chloride contained 73 microg of bromide and the bromide ion was determined to be the source of the side reactions. The rate of decrease of TC due to reaction with chlorine was greatly accelerated by the presence of bromide ion in the system: the rate with only 1 x 10(-5) M bromide ion was three times the rate in the absence of bromide. 相似文献

We have investigated angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory activity in an enzyme digest of sweetpotato protein, the antihypertensive effect of the digest in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR), and the identification of an ACE inhibitory peptide. Protein was prepared from squeezed juice of sweetpotato by isoelectric focusing precipitation. Three kinds of proteases were selected for effective protein digestion. The digest, sweetpotato peptide (SPP), exhibited strong ACE inhibitory activity (IC50: 18.2 μg/ml). SPP was orally administered by gavage to SHR at a dose of 100 mg/kg or 500 mg/kg. The systolic blood pressure and the diastolic blood pressure were measured at 0 (before administration), 2, 4, 8, and 24 h after administration. A dose-dependent decrease in systolic blood pressure in SHR was observed after oral administration of SPP. Significant differences between SPP-administered rats and control rats were observed 4 and 8 h after administration in the 500 mg/kg-administered group and 8 h after administration in the 100 mg/kg-administered group. Diastolic blood pressure also decreased in the SPP-administered groups, although the difference between SPP-administered rats and control rats was not significant. These results suggest that SPP may be useful in the prevention or treatment of hypertension. Peptides with ACE inhibitory activity were purified from SPP by absorption chromatography and preparative HPLC using an ODS column. The amino acid sequences of isolated peptides were I-T-P, I-I-P, G-Q-Y and S-T-Y-Q-T; their ACE inhibitory activities (IC50) were 9.5 μM, 80.8 μM, 52.3 μM and 300.4 μM, respectively. THE ipsilateral and contralateral corticocortical connections to the fifth somatosensory area (SV) in the feline cortex were determined from the location of retrogradely labelled cells following a single injection of HRP into SV. The injection was made into physiologically defined components of the body representation in SV. After injection of HRP into the face regions of SV, HRP-labelled cells were located ipsilaterally in areas 6 beta, 3b and 1-2 of the primary somatosensory (SI), in the second somatosensory (SII), third somatosensory (SIII), and fourth somatosensory (SIV) areas, along the ansate sulcus, and in areas 5a and 6a beta of the ipsilateral cortex, as well as in area 1-2 of SI and in SV of the contralateral cortex. On the other hand, after HRP had been injected into the trunk/hindlimb area, HRP-labelled cells were located in areas 3a, 1-2 of SI, in area 5, in SII, in SIII and in SIV of the ipsilateral cortex, as well as in area 1-2 of SI, and in SV of the contralateral cortex. Aerostatic thrust bearings have been used in linear guideway systems of various precision measuring apparatus by reasons of low friction, non-hysteresis and high accuracy of motion. In such a case that the measuring systems do not satisfy the Abbé principle, the accuracy of linear guideway systems is greatly influenced by the tilt characteristics in pitch, roll and yaw directions of aerostatic thrust bearings. This paper proposes the application of aerostatic rectangular double-pad thrust bearings with double row admissions of compound restrictors to the linear guideway systems subjected to tilt moments in both pitch and roll directions, and investigates, theoretically and experimentally, the static tilt characteristics of these aerostatic thrust bearings. 相似文献
