We characterize the planar straight line graphs (Pslgs) that can be augmented to 3-connected and 3-edge-connected Pslgs, respectively. We show that if a Pslg with n vertices can be augmented to a 3-edge-connected Pslg, then at most 2n−2 new edges are always sufficient and sometimes necessary for the augmentation. If the input Pslg is, in addition, already 2-edge-connected, then n−2 new edges are always sufficient and sometimes necessary for the augmentation to a 3-edge-connected Pslg.  相似文献

We report about the first experimental test of neutron solid state collimators with reflecting walls. Si wafers are the collimator channel coated on both sides with a reflecting layer covered by an absorbing Gd layer. The collimators produce a beam with quasi-rectangular distribution of angles, which represents an intensity gain at equal resolution compared to the triangular distribution in conventional Soller collimators. These compact collimators can provide for high angular resolution with good transmission in very limited space.  相似文献

The gene responsible for familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) has recently been mapped, identified and this makes the presymptomatic molecular diagnosis of the disease possible. It can be performed by direct mutation analysis or indirect haplotype analysis. In families where several affected individuals are available the indirect haplotype analysis is the easiest way for performing presymptomatic diagnosis of persons at risk. Among Hungarian families we have performed haplotype analysis using D5S346, a highly polymorphic dinucleotide CA repeat marker located 30-70 kb downstream from APC gene with the combination of restriction endonuclease Rsal site polymorphism. Marker regions were amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and basen on the above-mentioned polymorphic systems, the haplotype at the APC locus was determined. We believe that haplotype analysis of individuals at risk in large FAP families containing several affected members is a rapid, efficient, and highly valuable method for presymptomatic diagnosis of familial colon polyposis.  相似文献

Polyurethanes were prepared from 4,4′‐methylenebis(phenyl isocyanate), 1,4‐butanediol and poly(1,4‐butanediol adipate) polyester polyol. The hydroxyl functional group ratio of polyol/total diol was kept constant at 0.4, while the ratio of the isocyanate and hydroxyl groups (NCO/OH ratio) changed between 0.90 and 1.15. The polymers were prepared by one‐step bulk polymerization in an internal mixer. They were characterized using a number of methods including Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, wide‐ and small‐angle X‐ray scattering, differential scanning calorimetry, dynamic mechanical analysis, light transmittance and tensile testing. Changing the stoichiometry modifies the molecular weight in accordance with the laws of stepwise polymerization, and the relative concentration of end groups also changes at the same time. Competitive interactions among various groups including chain‐end functional groups lead to the formation of slightly ordered phases of sub‐nanometre size at both ends of the composition range. These structures assemble into larger units at the 10 nm level, which associate further to even larger entities of micrometre size causing scattering of light and a decreased transparency of the samples. The order of the primary units, together with the number and size of assemblies at both higher levels, decrease as the composition approaches equimolar stoichiometry. The amount of less ordered amorphous phase has a maximum in this range. The stiffness of the polymers is determined by the amount of this phase, while ultimate properties are influenced also by molecular weight and the number of physical crosslinks formed. Cucurbit[n]urils (CBns) are an intriguing family of macrocyclic hosts whose chemistry has undergone rapid developments in recent decades. The initial interest in the synthesis, modifications and binding properties has shifted to areas focused on applications in drug storage, delivery, and release, external-stimuli responsive devices, and molecular nano-reactors. Since CBns are fruitfully complemented by cyclodextrins (CDs) in such systems, guest molecules that contain several binding sites are needed. These multitopic guests provide not only a scaffold for holding CBns and CDs together in appropriate arrangements but also allow for manipulation with supramolecular aggregates, e. g., reorganization or release of macrocycles. In this review, we summarize recent studies related to the design of multitopic guests. Binding motifs properties, the role of attractive or repulsive lateral interactions, the competition-compensation effect, and rotaxane versus pseudorotaxane manner are discussed.  相似文献

The objective was to describe Microtron MT25 as a source of neutrons generated by bremsstrahlung induced photonuclear reactions in U and Pb targets. Bremsstrahlung photons were produced by electrons accelerated at energy 21.6 MeV. Spectral fluence of the generated neutrons was calculated with MCNPX code and then experimentally determined at two positions by means of a Bonner spheres spectrometer in which the detector of thermal neutrons was replaced by activation Mn tablets or track detectors CR-39 with a (10)B radiator. The measured neutron spectral fluence and the calculated anisotropy served for the estimation of neutron yield from the targets and for the determination of ambient dose equivalent rate at the place of measurement. Microtron MT25 is intended as one of the sources for testing neutron sensitive devices which will be sent into the space.  相似文献
