Even a zero-power reactor core containing highly enriched uranium has a weak neutron source inherent in uranium 235, and consequently, a neutron counter placed closely to the core without external neutron source registers a certain counting rate. The study of the counting is very important for zero-power reactor physics experiments with a high precision. In this experimental study, first, at a shutdown state of the UTR-Kinki reactor without start-up neutron source, a pulse height distribution of output signals from a neutron proportional counter was measured to confirm that these signals resulted from neutron detections. At several subcritical states of the UTR, then, the Feynman-α analysis was carried out to confirm that the neutrons detected by the counter must be fission neutrons multiplied by fission chain reactions. The correlation amplitude measured in the Feynman-α analysis was much higher than that measured in a previous drive by start-up source. Further, it was also confirmed that the subcriticality dependence of neutron counting rate followed the source multiplication formula. This feature indicated that the one-point model was very successful in the subcritical range including the shutdown state.  相似文献

Age-hardening behavior during continuous heating in commercial dental casting gold alloys was investigated by means of electrical resistivity measurements, hardness tests and X-ray diffraction. Two distinguishable behaviors were detected. It is considered that the difference was attributed to the amount of platinum, and the atomic ratio of gold and copper in each alloy. The phase transformations during continuous heating progressed into two steps (stages I and II). Increase of the platinum addition in gold-based alloys retards the rate of the reaction and decreases remarkably the amount of stage I.  相似文献

A partial nickel plating method was developed by using the organic gel electrolyte. The gel electrolyte was made from polyvinylchloride as a gelling agent and tetrahydrofuran as an organic solvent. The suitable conditions for nickel plating were investigated by the measurements of polarization curve and electrochemical impedance. The pattern electroplating using thin layer of gel electrolyte was carried out on the copper substrate. The substrate surface could be plated by nickel with high uniformity and sharp edge line. The present method will be widely used for the surface patterning without masking.  相似文献

Feynman-α method is used as the representative method in reactor noise analysis for the criticality monitoring. Feynman-α analysis needs a large amount of measurement time in its original process, though many researchers use the bunching method and its derived methods for the experimental data processing to shorten the measurement time. However, the detailed characteristics and the application limit of the bunching method have not been researched and discussed enough. This paper shows a possibility that the Bunching method is a method to reduce the probability fluctuation with the Y value only in the appearance. Moreover, the criteria for determining that the Y value is not an accidental product are also provided in this paper.  相似文献

Seafood frequently contains high concentrations of arsenic (approximately 10-100 mg/kg dry weight). In marine algae (seaweed), this arsenic occurs predominantly as ribose derivatives known collectively as arsenosugars. Although it is clear that arsenosugars are not acutely toxic, there is a possibility of arsenosugars having slight chronic toxicity. In general, trivalent arsenicals are more toxic than their pentavalent counterparts, so in this work we examine the hypothesis that trivalent arsenosugars might be significantly more toxic than pentavalent arsenosugars in vitro. We compared the in vitro toxicity of (R)-2,3-dihydroxypropyl-5-deoxy-5-dimethylarsinoyl-beta-D-riboside, a pentavalent arsenosugar, to that of its trivalent counterpart, (R)-2,3-dihydroxypropyl-5-deoxy-5-dimethylarsino-beta-D-riboside. The trivalent arsenosugar nicked plasmid DNA, whereas the pentavalent arsenosugar did not. The trivalent arsenosugar was more cytotoxic (IC50 = 200 microM, 48 h exposure) than its pentavalent counterpart (IC50 > 6000 microM, 48 h exposure) in normal human epidermal keratinocytes in vitro as determined via the neutral red uptake assay. However, both the trivalent and the pentavalent arsenosugars were significantly less toxic than MMA(III), DMA(III), and arsenate. Neither the pentavalent arsenosugar nor the trivalent arsenosugar were mutagenic in Salmonella TA104. The trivalent arsenosugar was readily formed by reaction of the pentavalent arsenosugar with thiol compounds, including, cysteine, glutathione, and dithioerythritol. This work suggests that the reduction of pentavalent arsenosugars to trivalent arsenosugars in biology might have environmental consequences, especially because seaweed consumption is a significant environmental source for human exposure to arsenicals.  相似文献

Titanium oxide-based composites containing (1) Nb, (2) Nb and Sr, and (3) Sr and La were fabricated by a combination of wet processing and reactive spark plasma sintering in which the metal oxide components were reduced by reaction with titanium nitride. If only TiO2 was used as the starting material, several Magneli-type phases of oxygen-deficient titanium oxides were obtained. When mixed with Nb ions with Ti:Nb = 0.9:0.1, microsegregation of Nb ions was observed (case 1). If Sr was added, a perovskite, SrTiO3 (STO) phase occurred (case 2), which contained La ions in the case of La addition (case 3). The sintered compacts consisted largely of grains of about 1 μm in size. In the case of Ti-Nb combination (case 1), a unique stripe pattern also appeared inside the grains. The electrical conductivity increased monotonically with increasing temperature in the case of the pure Magneli phases and the Nb-containing composite, whereas bow-shaped temperature dependences with a maximum were observed in the case of the composites containing STO phases. The Seebeck coefficients were commonly negative, and the absolute values increased with temperature. The thermal conductivity was between 2 W m?1 K?1 and 4 W m?1 K?1 in the temperature range from room temperature to 800°C. A maximum ZT of 0.34 was achieved at 800°C (case 2).  相似文献

The use of an extremely thin chemically adsorbed fluorocarbon film (having a thickness of the order of 1 nm) for injection molding greatly reduces the ejection resistance, depending on the mold shape or dimensional accuracy.Consequently, this technique should be very beneficial when applied to the molding of resin materials that have difficulty with mold release, such as silicone, urethane and elastomer resins. Further, this method will be useful for the molds used for making precision components that need to be highly accurate and ultra thin, such as optical components and chemical chips, for which conventional release agents cannot be used.  相似文献

High quality epitaxial ZnO films on sapphire (110) plane have been fabricated on ZnO homo-buffer layers crystallized via solid-phase epitaxially (SPE). The SPE-ZnO films are fabricated by annealing of amorphous ZnON (a-ZnON) films deposited by RF magnetron sputtering. During annealing, the a-ZnON films are oxidized and converted to ZnO crystal. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis shows that the resultant films are epitaxially grown on the sapphire substrates. By using the SPE-ZnO films as homo-buffer layers, the ZnO films with high crystallinity, which are deposited by RF magnetron sputtering, are fabricated. The full width at half-maximum of XRD patterns for 2θ-ω and ω scan of (002) plane are 0.094° and 0.12°, respectively, being significantly small compared with 0.24° and 0.55° for the films without buffer layers. Thus utilizing SPE buffer layers is very promising to obtain epitaxial ZnO films with high crystallinity.  相似文献

NITRIC oxide (NO) plays a role in the modulation of the predominant potassium current of type I vestibular hair cells, a low-voltage activated current called I(K1). Since many effects of NO are mediated via cGMP, patch-clamp recordings were made to evaluate the effects of cGMP on I(K1). In whole-cell recordings 1 mM cGMP shifted Vhalf of I(K1) by 15.0 +/- 2.4 mV (n = 6) to more positive. In cell-attached 'multichannel' recordings 1 mM 8-bromo-cGMP caused a reversible shift of Vhalf by 13.8 +/- 2.6 mV (n = 12) and in single channel recordings in the cell-attached configuration the open probability was reduced at -60 mV from 0.39 +/- 0.14 to 0.08 +/- 0.01. cGMP had no effect on excised inside-out patches, indicating that an intact cytosolic milieu with functioning phosphorylation cascades is necessary. cGMP seems to be an important second messenger which reduces the potassium conductance of vestibular hair cells.  相似文献
