Dynamic mechanical measurements between — 180°C and 180°C were made on both isotropic and drawn samples of polybutene-1 (PB-1) and poly-4-methylpentene-1 (P4MB1) over a wide frequency range by the use of a torsional pendulum (0.3–3 Hz), a viscoelastic spectrometer (5–90 Hz) and ultrasonic technique (3 MHz). The relaxation peaks were identified and the associated activation energies determined from Arrhenius plots. For PB-1 it was observed that orientation reduces the height and shifts up the temperature of the αa-peak associated with large scale main-chain motion in the amorphous regions, but has little effect on the β-peak associated with side-group motion. In addition to the αa and β relaxations a high-temperature crystalline relaxation (αc) is also observed in P4MP1. For both the αc and β relaxations the mechanical loss at 45° to the draw direction is much larger than that at 90°, which indicates that shear processes are involved in these relaxations. 相似文献

A relatively simple instrumentation system is described which samples and records the body temperatures from up to twelve experimental animals over long periods of time. Body temperatures are sensed by temperature-sensitive FM transmitters implanted in the peritoneal cavities. The emitted signals are received by antennas, amplified, and sequentially gated into a frequency counter for counting; the resulting digital numbers are recorded in binarycoded decimal (BCD) format on punched paper tape. Samples can be spaced at intervals of from 1 to 60 minutes, and sampling can be continued over long periods of many months. This system eliminates the need for analog-to-digital conversion and allows rapid and direct transmission of the raw data to the digital computer for processing and analysis. 相似文献

Cornstarch, a canary dextrin, and a maltodextrin were compared in films blown from carbohydrates compounded with poly(ethylene-co-acrylic acid) (EAA), low-density polyethylene (LDPE), and aqueous ammonium hydroxide plasticizer. Dextrins or maltodextrins having dextrose equivalent values of one and greater caused dark-colored films with caramel odors, probably due to Maillard reactions. Blown films with hydrophobic skins and water sensitive cores were produced with the dextrinized carbohydrates, but not from natural cornstarch. Water sensitivity of films containing the dextrinized carbohydrate was reduced by recycling the films through the blown film die. Using methods of mathematical statistics (cluster, dispersion, and correlation analyses), the impact strength of three types
of glass containers (bottles and jars) was analyzed. Three temperature regions in which molding results in very different
values of the strength of the articles are revealed. The boundaries of the molding temperature regions are critical regardless
of the type of article molded and are probably only determined by the chemical composition of the glass melt. The preferred
mold temperature range is 480–550°C. The results of the study are interpreted based on an analysis of the features of molding
glass at different temperatures.

Interface oscillations during boiling are studied experimentally and theoretically. The output-signal spectra of light and acoustic sensors indicate that the liquid-pressure and interface oscillations are interrelated. A model is suggested for the oscillations of a bubble growing on a heating surface, and the existence of an attractor is deduced for the first time from the solution of model equations. The data obtained enable one to determine the ranges of interface oscillation amplitude and frequency and can be used in the modeling of boiling. 相似文献

The monoenoic methyl esters from numerous fats and oils which contained appreciablecis-9-hexadecenoic acid (cis-9-16∶1) were isolated by liquid-solid chromatography on silver nitrate-silica gel. Analysis of the monoenes by packed and
capillary column gas-liquid chromatography showed that significant amounts ofcis-11-octadecenoic acid (cis-11-18∶1) were present in all samples. The amount ofcis-11-18∶1 found in the monoenoic methyl esters increased proportionally to logarithmic increases in thecis-9-16∶1 level. Most analyses reported in the literature also show this proportionality. This mathematical relationship suggests
