With the advent of various emerging wireless products, the usage of limited spectrum has grown exponentially in the recent years. In the next few years, that mobile data traffic globally is expected to grow up to 50 EB/month, which is nearly a five times increase over year 2018. Therefore, it will become extremely difficult to satisfy the ever increasing demand through the current fixed spectrum assignment policy in which spectrum band is exclusively used for the particular applications, and it has also led to underutilization of a significant portion of the spectrum (like TV bands). Cognitive radio networks has emerged as a possible solution for the problem which makes dynamic spectrum access possible for unlicensed user when licensed user is not active. Among various operations of cognitive radio, channel assignment to the unlicensed user is very important. Further, wireless regional area network is one of the most important application of cognitive radio, which provides wireless broadband to the rural area using vacant TV channels. This paper discusses channel assignment techniques considering various functionalities for cognitive radio networks in respect of wireless regional area network in the existing literature. Initially, a comprehensive introduction to both cognitive radio networks and wireless regional area networks is provided, and in the end, the paper summarizes the various issues and research challenges in the channel assignment for wireless regional area networks.  相似文献

Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have been extensively used as antibacterial agents, owing to their ease of preparation. In the present study, leaves extract of Canarium ovatum have been employed for the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles (CO‐AgNPs). CO‐AgNPs were synthesised under very mild, eco‐friendly manner where the plant extract acted both as reducing and capping agent. These AgNPs were synthesised by taking into account several parameters, that included, time of reaction, concentration of AgNO3, amount of extract and temperature of reaction. The optimisation studies suggested efficient synthesis of CO‐AgNPs at 25°C when 1.5 mM AgNO3 was reduced with 1:20 ratio of plant extract for 40 min. Size determination studies done on dynamic light scattering and scanning electron microscope suggested of spherical shape nanoparticles of size 119.7 ± 7 nm and 50–80 nm, respectively. Further, characterisations were done by Fourier transform infrared and energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy to evaluate the functional groups and the purity of CO‐AgNPs. The antibacterial efficacy of CO‐AgNPs was determined against the bacterial strain Pseudomonas aeruginosa. As evident from disc diffusion method studies, CO‐AgNPs remarkably inhibited the growth of the tested microorganism. Forming limit diagram (FLD) is an important performance index to describe the maximum limit of principal strains that can be sustained by sheet metals till to the onset of localized necking. It is useful tool to access the forming severity of a drawing or stamping processes. In the present work, FLD has been determined experimentally for Ti-6Al-4 V alloy at 400 °C by conducting a hemispherical dome test with specimens of different widths. Additionally, theoretical FLDs have been determined using Marciniak Kuczynski (M-K) model. Various yield criteria namely: Von Mises, Hill 1948, Hill 1993 and Cazacu Barlat in combination with different hardening models viz., Hollomon power law (HPL), Johnson-Cook (JC), modified Johnson-Cook (m-JC), modified Arrhenius (m-Arr.), modified Zerilli–Armstrong (m-ZA) have been used in M-K analysis for theoretical FLD prediction. The material properties required for determination of yield criteria and hardening models constants have been calculated using uniaxial tensile tests. The predicted theoretical FLDs results are compared with experimental FLD. It can be observed that influence of yield criterion in M-K analysis for theoretical FLD prediction is predominant than the hardening model. Based on the results; it is observed that the theoretical FLD using Cazacu Barlat and Hill 1993 yield criteria with m-Arr. hardening model has a very good agreement with experimental FLD.  相似文献

Low-cost α-silicon carbide (SiC) starting powder, instead of the more expensive β-SiC starting powder, has been used to process liquid-phase-sintered (LPS) SiC ceramics with different microstructures: (i) elongated SiC grains ( in situ toughened LPS SiC), (ii) fine equiaxed SiC grains, and (iii) coarse equiaxed SiC grains. The effects of microstructure on the sliding-wear properties of these LPS SiC ceramics have been studied. The sliding-wear resistance of the in situ toughened LPS SiC ceramic is found to be significantly better than that of two equiaxed-grain LPS SiC ceramics. This has been attributed to the existence of a hard, interlocking network of elongated SiC grains and the isolated nature of the yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) second phase in the in situ toughened LPS SiC ceramic. This is in contrast to the equiaxed-grain LPS SiC ceramics, where the equiaxed grains are embedded within a continuous YAG phase matrix. The use of the α-SiC starting powder allows the processing of low-cost LPS SiC ceramics that are both sliding-wear resistant and tough.  相似文献

Long-term monthly flow forecasts are essential for decision making in a river basin system. Many studies have already been reported on monthly as well as seasonal forecast using artificial neural networks (ANNs). This study demonstrates that monthly forecasts can be significantly improved if the input variables in ANN models are chosen with due consideration, even if number of training patterns are less. Monthly forecast models up to 12-month lead-time have been developed for Mississippi River in USA. It is seen that direct forecast with only antecedent flows as inputs does not improve the result. It is better to develop individual models for each month separately with information from previous years for the same month. Further, the forecast is found to significantly improve if the difference in predicted and actual flows is also included as one of the input variables (i.e. error updating), particularly where there is a clearly observed pattern in the historical information.  相似文献
