Micro defects usually lead to performance degradation of materials. Pulse-echo technique is an effective method of revealing micro defects in materials, and booming in which has been witnessed over the years. However, detection of flaw echoes submerged in intensive noise is challenging. In this paper, a method of flaw echoes detection based on generalized S-transform is proposed. The original signals are transformed to time-frequency domain by generalized S-transform in the first stage. Subsequently, the time-frequency spectrums are enhanced through image segmentation techniques, including global thresholding and dilation. Finally, clear flaw echoes are obtained by inverse generalized S-transform, contributing to further investigation of defects. Both the simulation and experimental results show effectiveness of the flaw echoes detection method.  相似文献

High brightness light emitting diodes are an inexpensive and versatile light source for wide‐field frequency‐domain fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy. In this paper a full calibration of an LED based fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy system is presented for the first time. A radio‐frequency generator was used for simultaneous modulation of light emitting diode (LED) intensity and the gain of an intensified charge coupled device (CCD) camera. A homodyne detection scheme was employed to measure the demodulation and phase shift of the emitted fluorescence, from which phase and modulation lifetimes were determined at each image pixel. The system was characterized both in terms of its sensitivity to measure short lifetimes (500 ps to 4 ns), and its capability to distinguish image features with small lifetime differences. Calibration measurements were performed in quenched solutions containing Rhodamine 6G dye and the results compared to several independent measurements performed with other measurement methodologies, including time correlated single photon counting, time gated detection, and acousto optical modulator (AOM) based modulation of excitation sources. Results are presented from measurements and simulations. The effects of limited signal‐to‐noise ratios, baseline drifts and calibration errors are discussed in detail. The implications of limited modulation bandwidth of high brightness, large area LED devices (~40 MHz for devices used here) are presented. The results show that phase lifetime measurements are robust down to sub ns levels, whereas modulation lifetimes are prone to errors even at large signal‐to‐noise ratios. Strategies for optimizing measurement fidelity are discussed. Application of the fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy system is illustrated with examples from studies of molecular mixing in microfluidic devices and targeted drug delivery research.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss a dynamic unrelated parallel machine scheduling problem with sequence-dependant setup times and machine–job qualification consideration. To apply the Q-Learning algorithm, we convert the scheduling problem into reinforcement learning problems by constructing a semi-Markov decision process (SMDP), including the definition of state representation, actions and the reward function. We use five heuristics, WSPT, WMDD, WCOVERT, RATCS and LFJ-WCOVERT, as actions and prove the equivalence of the reward function and the scheduling objective: minimisation of mean weighted tardiness. We carry out computational experiments to examine the performance of the Q-Learning algorithm and the heuristics. Experiment results show that Q-Learning always outperforms all heuristics remarkably. Averaged over all test problems, the Q-Learning algorithm achieved performance improvements over WSPT, WMDD, WCOVERT, RATCS and LFJ-WCOVERT by considerable amounts of 61.38%, 60.82%, 56.23%, 57.48% and 66.22%, respectively.  相似文献

Cutter runout is a common phenomenon affecting the cutting performances in milling operations. To date, most of the milling process models considering cutter runout were established based on the circular tooth path approximation, which brought errors into the runout estimation. In this paper, a new approach is presented for modelling the milling process geometry with cutter runout based on the true tooth trajectory of cutter in milling. The mathematical relationship between the trajectories generated by successive cutter teeth with runout is analysed. The milling process geometrical parameters, including the instantaneous undeformed chip thickness, the entry and exit angles of a cutting tooth, and the ideal peripheral machined workpiece surface roughness, are modelled according to the true tooth trajectories. Numerical method is used to solve the derived transcendental equations. A simulation study of the effects of cutter runout on milling process geometry is conducted using the models. It was found that the change of cutter radius for a tooth relative to its preceding one is the most important factor in evaluating the effects of cutter runout.  相似文献

Plasma sprayed yttria stabilized zirconia coatings were prepared using nanostructured and conventional powders with optimized process parameters for the highest deposition efficiency, the smallest porosity and the highest microhardness. The tribological properties of these coatings against 100C6 steel were then tested with a ball-on-disc arrangement. Results showed that although the friction coefficients of the coatings sprayed using the nanostructured powder were slightly different from those of the coatings sprayed using the conventional powder, the former coatings were more wear resistant than the latter coatings. The wear mechanisms of all the coatings were explained in terms of adhesion-induced spallation and micro-fracturing of lamellae. The improvement in wear resistance of the coatings sprayed using the nanostructured powder could be mainly ascribed to the decrease of micrometer-sized defects such as pores and interlamellar and intralamellar cracks in the coatings.  相似文献

A much more accurate analytical expression of dynamical electron diffraction than the phase object approximation (POA) formula has been derived in this paper which decreases the restriction of sample thickness up to almost one order of magnitude compared to POA theory. The importance of the new expression is twofold. First, a sample with such a thickness that new expression remains valid can be prepared experimentally. Second, the new expression reveals a clear and straightforward relationship between the wave function and crystal potential. In the expression, the effect of dynamical diffraction on wave function can be simply attributed to two factors TP(D) = (sin(lambda pi zg2))/(4pi2g2) and TA(D) = [1 - cos(lambda pi zg2)]/4pi2g2. Compared to the effect of transfer functions of an electron microscope on wave function, we found that TP(d) and TA(d) play the same role as transfer function but are independent of the instrument.For this reason, we here call the former as "extrinsic transfer functions" and the latter as "intrinsic" ones. In principle, one should correct not only extrinsic transfer functions but also intrinsic ones if one desires to achieve higher resolution.  相似文献

Thermally assisted flux flow (TAFF) based on magneto-resistivity and ac susceptibility measurements is studied in a Ba(Fe0.91Co0.09)2As2(T c=25.3 K) sample in magnetic fields up to 18 T. In addition to the upper critical field μ 0 H c2 and the coherence length ξ(0), the flux flow activation energy U(T,H) has also been determined. The resistive transition width is proportional to μ 0 H, in contrast to Tinkham’s theoretical prediction. By applying Fisher’s model, the glass melting transition temperature T g, which occurs in the upper TAFF state and not in the zero resistivity vortex solid regime, is calculated. The onset of TAFF temperature and the crossover temperature T x from TAFF to flux flow are determined. By contrasting the ac susceptibility data with the resistivity data, considerable flux penetration appears even in the zero resistivity state, in addition to ac losses. The H-T phase diagram is drawn and shows weak pinning regime as the field approaches μ 0 H c2, and the strength of the weak pinning decreases to 0 with increasing magnetic field from 0 to 18 T.  相似文献

To enhance unclear microscopy mineral images, an algorithm based on toggle operator using opening and closing is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the specified toggle operator using opening and closing through designing the selection rules is analysed. Secondly, after importing the multiscale theory into the specified toggle operator, useful mineral image features, especially the mineral details, are extracted using the multiscale theory‐based toggle operator. Finally, the mineral image is enhanced through the strategy of enlarging the contrast between the extracted bright and dark image features. Experimental results on different types of mineral images verified that the proposed algorithm could effectively enhance mineral images and performed better than some other algorithms. The enhanced mineral image is clear and contains rich mineral details, whereas the grey scale distribution of the original mineral image is appropriately maintained. This would be useful for the further mineral analysis. Therefore, the proposed algorithm could be widely used for image‐based mineral applications.  相似文献
