In this paper, we propose a method for evaluation of the bit error rate (BER) for packet combining based on constellation rearrangement (CoRe). Such mapping diversity scheme, adopted in the high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA), uses Gray‐mapped constellations and is based on suboptimal accumulation of the reliability metrics generated in each of the transmissions. We present an exact model for the logarithmic likelihood ratios (LLR) obtained by means of the so‐called max‐log approximation, and we show that their conditional probability density functions (pdf) are piecewise Gaussian. We then present the derivation of the uncoded BER and illustrate it with simulation results that confirm our formulation. Finally, we propose simplifications which significantly reduce the complexity of the evaluation method and provide results with a very good accuracy; an extension to transmissions over faded channel is also presented. ABSTRACT

Typically, an anticorrosive coating system for long-term protection consists of a primer, one or several intermediate coats, and a topcoat. In such systems, zinc-rich primers are often used as they ensure good adhesion to the substrate and protect it from corrosion. Such coatings are very highly pigmented, which sometimes leads to losses in cohesive strength and deterioration of mechanical properties. Furthermore, Zn is known to be harmful to the environment. In this work we present Zn primers with reduced Zn content and better protective properties than traditional zinc-rich primers. The formulations of different Zn pigments in the epoxy matrix were developed with the concentration of zinc particles reduced to about 50% in the dry coating. To evaluate the distribution of pigments scanning electron microscopy has been employed. The anticorrosive properties were tested using the salt spray test and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The mechanical properties of the coatings were also tested.  相似文献

The article describes technology of the low‐temperature co‐fired ceramics (LTCC) structure that enables light absorbance measurements of liquid sample. The manufactured ceramic structure contains buried microfluidic channels. The structure consists of two co‐fired glass windows that separate the light source and detector from the test solution. A construction of an electronic measurement system is described as well. The signal from three light‐emitting diodes (LED)s — red, green, and blue — can be used in the absorbance measurements. The light intensity is measured by the TCS 3414CS (TAOS, Plano, TX) color detector. Optical properties of the fabricated microfluidic LTCC system is investigated with several concentrations of potassium permanganate (KMnO4) in water solution. The system can be applied in microbiology for constant monitoring of bacterial growth.  相似文献

This paper presents a series of experimental photoacoustic spectra of porous silicon layers on the crystalline silicon and their numerical analysis performed in the proposed two layer model. The goal of the analysis was to calculate the optical absorption coefficient spectra of porous silicon from the photoacoustic spectra of the porous silicon layer on the silicon backing. The character of the observed optical absorption band associated with the porous silicon was revealed.  相似文献

This paper presents systematic investigations of electrical and stability properties of various low temperature co-fired ceramics (LTCC) resistors. One of the goals of this work was to check the compatibility of LTCC materials (tapes, resistive and conductive inks) from various manufacturers. Three commercially available green tapes and three LTCC resistor/conductor systems were examined. The resistive inks with 1 kΩ/sq. nominal sheet resistance were used. Buried (inside) and surface resistors were laminated and fired according to the tape manufacturers’ recommendations. The influence of dimensional effect on sheet resistance and hot temperature coefficient of resistance, the temperature dependence of resistance in a wide temperature range (from −180°C to +130°C), long-term stability of thermally aged as-fired resistors (150°C, 500 h) and durability to high-voltage micro- or nanosecond pulses (50 ns pulses with 4000 V/mm maximum electric field or 10 μs ones with 700–1000 V/mm electrical field) were carried out for electrical and stability characterisation of LTCC resistors. Non-destructive scanning acoustic microscope diagnostics was applied for structure investigation and estimation of lamination and cofiring process quality of buried LTCC resistors.  相似文献

Investigations of ion-molecule reactions were performed for methane-carbon tetrafluoride mixtures of different compositions. Concentration of methane in these mixtures ranged from 10% to 90% (at 10% increment) and total mixture pressure was fixed at 13.3 Pa. Measurements were made using a quadrupole mass spectrometer with a high-pressure ion source. Primary ions CH4+, F+, CF+ and CF3+ were produced by electrons with energy of 300 eV. Secondary ions CH5+, C2H3+, C2H4+, C2H5+, C2H7+ and CF3+ were observed as the result of ion-molecule reactions.The influence of repeller potential on ion-molecule reactions efficiency was examined.  相似文献

Verification of identity based on the analysis of dynamic signatures is an important problem of biometrics. The effectiveness of the verification significantly increases when the dynamic characteristics of signature (e.g. velocity of the pen) are considered. These characteristics are individual for each user and difficult to imitate. The effectiveness of the verification can be further improved by using partitioning. In this paper we propose a new method which uses partitioning. In our method partitions represent areas of high and low speed of signature and high and low pen?s pressure. All selected partitions are used by our algorithm, but more important in the classification process are these partitions, in which the signatures of the user acquired during training phase are more stable. Moreover, final classification is interpretable. In this paper we present the simulation results of the proposed method for the two databases: SVC2004 and BioSecure Database.  相似文献

Synchronous programming is available through several formally defined languages having very different characteristics: Esterel is imperative, while Lustre and Signal are declarative in style; Statecharts and Argos are graphical languages that allow one to program by constructing hierarchical automata. Our motivation for taking the synchronous design paradigm further, integrating imperative, declarative (or dataflow), and graphical programming styles, is that real systems typically have components that match each of these profiles. This paper motivates our interest in the mixed language programming of embedded software around a number of examples, and sketches the semantical foundation of the Synchronie toolset which ensures a coherent computational model. This toolset supports a design trajectory that incorporates rapid prototyping and systematic testing for early design validation, an object oriented development methodology for long term software management, and formal verification at the level of automatically generated object code.  相似文献

The amyloid structures and their wild type forms, available in the PDB database, provide the basis for comparative analyses. Globular proteins are characterised by a 3D spatial structure, while a chain in any amyloid fibril has a 2D structure. Another difference lies in the structuring of the hydrogen bond network. Amyloid forms theoretically engage all the NH and C=O groups of the peptide bonds in a chain with two hydrogen bonds each. In addition, the hydrogen bond network is highly ordered—as perpendicular to the plane of the chain. The β-structure segments provide the hydrogen bond system with an anti-parallel system. The folds appearing in the rectilinear propagation of the segment with the β-structure are caused by just by one of the residues in the sequence—residues with a Rα-helical or Lα-helical conformation. The antiparallel system of the hydrogen bonds in the β-structure sections at the site of the amino acid with a Rα- or Lα-helical conformation changes into a parallel system locally. This system also ensures that the involvement of the C=O and H-N groups in the construction of the interchain hydrogen bond, while maintaining a perpendicular orientation towards the plane of the chain. Conformational analysis at the level of the Phi and Psi angles indicates the presence of the conditions for the structures observed in the amyloids. The specificity of amyloid structures with the dominant conformation expressed as |Psi| = |Phi| reveals the system of organisation present in amyloid fibrils. The Phi, Psi angles, as present in this particular structure, transformed to form |Psi| = |Phi| appear to be ordered co-linearly. Therefore, the calculation of the correlation coefficient may express the distribution around this idealised localisation on the Ramachandran map. Additionally, when the outstanding points are eliminated, the part of amyloid chain can be classified as fulfilling the defined conditions. In addition, the presentation of the chain structure using geometric parameters, V-angle—the angle between the planes of the adjacent peptide bonds (angle versus the virtual axis Cα-Cα) and the radius of the curvature R, depending on the size of the angle V, allows for a quantitative assessment of changes during amyloid transformation.  相似文献
