Self-monitoring and intake interviewers' therapeutic orientations.

A therapist's theoretical orientation is likely to influence every facet of the therapeutic process. We explore the relationship of therapeutic orientation and self-monitoring style. To test the hypothesis that high self-monitors would be more eclectic than low self-monitors, we surveyed 30 intake therapists at a child guidance center. Results supported the hypothesis; those frequently using more than one orientation had higher self-monitoring scores. Furthermore, self-monitoring correlated negatively with psychoanalytic endorsement, but in a positive direction with behavioral, systems and eclectic endorsements. 柔性桩沉降可靠性的简化分析公式

本文提出了结合分层的剪切位移法、摄动法和随机场理论来计算柔性桩沉降可靠度的简化方法，并用随机有限元和蒙特卡洛模拟法对此简化模型的精度进行了对比分析，分析结果表明该方法计算简便，精度较高。通过算例发现，在土的变形模量为小变异的情况下，其概率模型对桩的沉降可靠度影响不明显，因此其概率模型可近似采用正态分布；在土的变形模量为大变异的情况下，其概率模型对桩的沉降可靠度影响非常明显，在选择概率模型时要慎重。对于土的变形模量服从对数正态分布的情况，采用将其当量正态化后的中心点法即使在参数大变异的情况下也可以获得理想的计算精度。     

测距仪中新型的脉冲激光光源

针对现有测距仪中脉冲激光器存在寄生多脉冲的问题，提出并实现新型的采用同步泵浦声光调Q方法的测距仪用激光器、消除了寄生脉冲并提高了激光器的峰值功率。     

Intraseptal scopolamine has differential effects on Pavlovian eye blink and heart rate conditioning.

Evaluated the effects of intraseptal scopolamine hydrobromide (40 μg) injections on Pavlovian (classical) conditioning, with tones used as the CS and a periorbital electric shock train as the UCS, using New Zealand albino rabbits. Eyeblink (EB) and heart rate (HTR) CRs were concomitantly recorded. Although injections of scopolamine into the medial septum impaired the acquisition of the Pavlovian conditioned eyelid reflex, these injections enhanced the magnitude of accompanying Pavlovian conditioned HTR decelerations. However, scopolamine applied to the lateral septal area had no effect on EB conditioning, relative to the vehicle; like medial injections, scopolamine also enhanced the magnitude of the accompanying HTR decelerations. Results are compatible with those of previous investigations indicating that medial septal dysfunction impairs somatomotor conditioning but leaves autonomic conditioning intact and that septal dysfunction produces a parasympathetic bias of the cardiovascular system. Nanoscale structural characteristics and electron field emission properties of transition metal–fullerene compound TiC60 films

Transition-metal compound TiC₆₀ thin films were grown by co-deposition from two separated sources of fullerene C₆₀ powder and titanium. Study of structural properties of the films, by Raman spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, and scanning tunneling spectroscopy reveals that the films have a deformed C₆₀ structure with certain amount of sp³ bonds and a rough surface with a large number of nanoclusters. z–V tunnelling spectroscopic measurements suggest that several charge transport mechanisms are involved in as the tip penetrates into the thin film. Conventional field electron emission (FEE) measurements show a high emission current density of 10 mA/cm² and a low turn-on field less than 8 V/μm, with the field enhancement factors being 659 and 1947 for low-field region and high-field region, respectively. By exploiting STM tunneling spectroscopy, local FEE on nanometer scale has also been characterized in comparison with the conventional FEE. The respective field enhancement factors are estimated to be 99–355 for a gap varying from 36 to 6 nm. The enhanced FEE of TiC₆₀ thin films can be ascribed to structural variation of C₆₀ in the films and the electrical conducting paths formed by titanium nanocrystallites embedded in C₆₀ matrix.

Analytical pyrolysis as a tool for the study of plastic coals

The technique of analytical pyrolysis has been used to characterize 40 similar mid-rank western Kentucky coals of widely differing ASTM Gieseler plasticity. Certain pyrolysis/g.c. variables were shown to correlate well with both ASTM Gieseler and isothermal plasticity. Highly plastic coals were shown to exhibit certain characteristic peaks in the 450 °C pyrogram which were absent in the pyrogram of the non-plastic coals. Two coals, representing the two extremes in plasticity, were selected for further study. After extraction with solvents such as DMF the characteristic peaks were absent in the 450 °C pyrogram of the extraction residue of the highly plastic coal. These peaks were also shown to decrease with increasing severity of air oxidation of the plastic coal. This technique appears to be a useful tool for the analysis of mid-rank plastic coals and supports the view that the substances contained in the bitumen fraction of these coals are involved in the development of the plastic state.
