Elastomeric polymers can be filled with metallic micro- or nanoparticles to obtain electrical conductivity, in which the conductivity is largely determined by the intrinsic conductivity of and contact resistance between the particles. Electrons will flow through the material effectively when the percolation threshold for near-neighbor contacts is exceeded and sufficiently close contacts between the filler particles are realized for electron tunneling to occur. Silver-coated glass microparticles of two types (fibers and spheres) were used as fillers in a thermoplastic elastomer composite based on styrene–ethylene–butylene–styrene copolymer, and the direct-current (DC) resistance and radiofrequency impedance were significantly reduced by coating the filler particles with octadecylmercaptan. Not only was the resistance reduced but also the atypical positive piezoresistivity effect observed in these elastomers was strongly reduced, such that resistivity values below 0.01 Ω cm were obtained for compression ratios up to 20%. In the DC measurements, an additional decrease of resistivity was obtained by inclusion of π-extended aromatic compounds, such as diphenylhexatriene. Some qualitative theories are presented to illuminate the possible mechanisms of action of these surface coatings on the piezoresistivity.  相似文献

A distance transformation technique for a binary digital image using a gray-scale mathematical morphology approach is presented. Applying well-developed decomposition properties of mathematical morphology, one can significantly reduce the tremendous cost of global operations to that of small neighborhood operations suitable for parallel pipelined computers. First, the distance transformation using mathematical morphology is developed. Then several approximations of the Euclidean distance are discussed. The decomposition of the Euclidean distance structuring element is presented. The decomposition technique employs a set of 3 by 3 gray scale morphological erosions with suitable weighted structuring elements and combines the outputs using the minimum operator. Real-valued distance transformations are considered during the processes and the result is approximated to the closest integer in the final output image.  相似文献

Commonly used gradient edge operators such as the Sobel, Prewitt and Roberts operators all required a square root operation; this is, however, computationally intensive and, consequently, simple but very inaccurate approximations are often used instead. A technique for fabricating many different wavelength lasers on the same wafer has been developed. High energy ion implantation was used to selectively blue shift the emission wavelength of an InP-based quantum well laser structure. This structure was then processed into fully functional broad-area lasers whose current threshold was unaffected by the implantation process, indicating extremely high material quality after bandgap-shifting. This process has the potential for the integration of not only different wavelength lasers, but also other devices, such as waveguides, detectors, modulators, etc., on a single wafer.  相似文献

We present two related methods of construction for de Bruijn (1946) sequences, both based on interleaving “smaller” de Bruijn sequences. Sequences obtained using these construction methods have the advantage that they can be “decoded” very efficiently, i.e., the position within the sequence of any particular “window” can be found very simply. Ultrawideband (UWB) systems, which combine bandwidths in excess of 1 GHz with very low power spectral densities (PSDs), are currently attracting growing interest as a means of wresting additional capacity from the already heavily utilised store of wireless bandwidth. If the emissions from UWB devices are regulated to avoid causing significant interference to licensed services, then it becomes possible to allow UWB systems to operate on an unlicensed basis, enabling UWB technology to support a diverse range of applications. As yet, there are no regulations for UWB devices. However, the US is in the process of setting up a regulatory framework, while within Europe, where matters are not quite so far advanced, possible approaches to UWB regulation are under consideration. Shrinking die sizes and increasing I/O density is motivating the push toward flip chip packages. A flip chip interconnection system with a under bump metallurgy stack containing sputtered TiWNX/sputtered Cu/electroplated Cu stud/electroplated 95%Pb-5%Sn was developed. An important step in the above process is the selective etching of the sputtered Cu bus layer and the TiWNX barrier layer, in the presence of the Pb-Sn solder. The Cu bus layer was selectively etched using commercial etchants. However, no commercial etchants were available for selectively etching the TiWNX layer, H2O2-NH4OH based etching systems, popularly known as Standard Clean-1 cleaning solutions, have been extensively used to clean silicon wafers in front end wafer fabrication where only trace metal contamination exists. Since metals like lead, copper, titanium, tin and tungsten catalyze the heterogeneous decomposition of the peroxide, the unstable H2O2-NH4OH based etching systems are rarely used to etch metal films. In this paper the development of a H 2O2-NH4OH based etchant to selectively etch the sputtered TiWNX films in the presence of electroplated 95%Pb-5%Sn solder bumps is discussed. A 23 full factorial experiment with mid point was conducted to establish the etchant composition, as well as process temperature, that give satisfactory responses with respect to etch time, permissable undercut of the Cu stud (caused by the NH4OH), and acceptable bump shape after reflow. Statistical analysis was used to understand the significant factors influencing the etch rate and undercut. An etchant containing 6% by volume of 30%-H2O2 and 0.75% by volume of 30%-NH4OH operated at a temperature of 37°C was found to give satisfactory results  相似文献

Response of maleHeliothis subflexa to pheromone-baited traps containing blends of tetradecanal, (Z)-9-tetradecanal, hexadecanal, (Z)-7-hexadecenal, (Z)-9-hexadecenal, (Z)-11-hexadecenal, hexadecan-1-ol acetate, (Z)-7-hexadecen-1-ol acetate, (Z)-9-hexadecen-1-ol acetate, (Z)-11-hexadecen-1-ol acetate, (Z)-9-hexadecen-1-ol, and (Z)-11-hexadecen-1-ol was evaluated. Analysis of trap capture data indicated that (Z)-11-hexadecen-1-ol was a critical component of the pheromone blend. It was determined from emission rate data and measurements of the ratio of pheromone components emitted from rubber septa tested that a significant increase in trap capture of maleH. subflexa occurred when the blends investigated released the alcohol in a narrow range relative to the total amount of pheromone emitted. The optimum range of release ratio of the alcohol for the capture of males in sticky traps was determined to be 0.9–3.5% of the pheromone blend. This release ratio range was reduced to 0.9–1.6% when bucket traps were used.  相似文献

This article advances the beginnings of a general theory of organizational features to aid in understanding why health campaigns that work well in one organization may be ineffectual in another organization. The physical, social, and information structures of organizations are theorized to create an interaction environment that is distinct to each organization and that influences health campaigns. To test this argument, an organ donation campaign was conducted in 46 organizations. Multilevel modeling yielded mixed findings. Physical structure was negatively associated with signing an organ donor card. Social structure and information structure were positively associated with communication with coworkers about donation and communicative peer influence. Industry type was positively associated with knowledge change.  相似文献

Biocompatible and degradable dual-delivery gel systems based on hyperbranched dendritic−linear−dendritic copolymers (HBDLDs) is herein conceptualized and accomplished via thiol-ene click chemistry. The elasticity of the hydrogels is tunable by varying the lengths of PEG (2, 6, 10 kDa) or the dry weight percentages (20, 30, 40 wt%), and are found to range from 2–14.7 kPa, comparable to human skin. The co-delivery of antibiotics is achieved, where the hydrophilic drug novobiocin sodium salt (NB) is entrapped within the hydrophilic hydrogel, while the hydrophobic antibiotic ciprofloxacin (CIP) is encapsulated within the dendritic nanogels (DNGs) with hydrophobic cores (DNGs-CIP). The DNGs-CIP with drug loading capacity of 2.83 wt% are then physically entrapped within the hybrid hydrogels through UV curing. The hybrid hydrogels enable the quick release of NB and prolonged released of CIP. In vitro cell infection assays showed that the antibiotic-loaded hybrid hydrogels are able to treat bacterial infections with significant bacterial reduction. Hybrid hydrogel band aids are fabricated and exhibited better antibacterial activity compared with commercial antimicrobial band aids. Remarkably, most hydrogels and hybrid hydrogels show enhanced human dermal cell proliferation and could be degraded into non-toxic constituents, showing great promise as wound dressing materials.  相似文献
