Cermets composed of submicron size alternating lamellae of CeO2, or 10% Gadolinia doped Ceria (GDC), and porous-metallic Cobalt have been prepared from eutectic oxide mixtures. A fine eutectic structure was obtained by fast directional solidification of the cobalt oxide–ceria oxide eutectic composite using the Laser Floating Zone (LFZ) technique. The resulting microstructure, with an interphase spacing down to 0.5 μm, was obtained for solidification rates of 750 mm/h. Textured cermets were obtained by subsequent reduction under H2 containing atmosphere of the eutectic oxide composite. The reduction kinetics was studied in the 550–750 °C temperature range and effective diffusion coefficients were obtained. The reduction process does not correspond to a typical thermally activated process. The cermets are composed of ceria lamellae of about 200 nm thickness alternated with porous-metallic cobalt lamellae of ≤400 nm. The lamellar microstructure of the cermets favours oxygen ion mobility through ceria and its size can be controlled by solidification rate of the eutectic precursor. These materials are proposed as SOFC anodes.  相似文献

Biological hydrogen production is an active research area due to the importance of this gas as an energy carrier and the advantages of using biological systems to produce it. A cheap and practical on-line hydrogen determination is desired in those processes. In this study, an artificial neural network (ANN) was developed to estimate the hydrogen production in fermentative processes. A back propagation neural network (BPNN) of one hidden layer with 12 nodes was selected. The BPNN training was done using the conjugated gradient algorithm and on-line measurements of dissolved CO2, pH and oxidation-reduction potential during the fermentations of cheese whey by Escherichia coli ΔhycA ΔlacI (WDHL) strain with or without pH control. The correlation coefficient between the hydrogen production determined by gas chromatography and the hydrogen production estimated by the BPNN was 0.955. Results showed that the BPNN successfully estimated the hydrogen production using only on-line parameters in genetically modified E. coli fermentations either with or without pH control. This approach could be used for other hydrogen production systems.  相似文献

In the present research, a commercial battery-powered pure electric vehicle was suitably modified to convert it into a hybrid one integrating a PEMFC stack. The hydrogen supply system to the stack included a passive recirculation system based on a Ventury-type ejector. Besides, in order to achieve an optimum operation of the PEMFC stack, a discrete state machine model was considered in its control system. The inclusion of a rehabilitation operating mode prevented the stack from possible failures, increasing its lifetime. It was verified that for the rated operating point when supplying power to the vehicle (2.5 kW) the hydrogen consumption decreased, and the actual efficiency (47.9%) PEMFC was increased close to 1%. Field tests performed demonstrate that the range of the hybrid electric vehicle was increased by 78% when compared to the one of the original battery electric car. Also, under the tested experimental conditions in hybrid mode, 34% of the total energy demanded by the electric machine of the vehicle was supplied by the PEMFC stack.  相似文献

The promoting effect of Co addition on the behaviour of the Pd/HAP system in WGS reaction has been investigated. Hydroxyapatite-supported bimetallic PdCo samples have been prepared by two consecutive impregnation steps with solutions of Co and Pd precursors, respectively. The resulting catalysts have been thoroughly characterised by BET, XRD, H2-TPR, XPS, OSCC and OSC techniques.The progressive addition of cobalt drives to an abundance of the Pd species exhibiting an intimate contact with Co and an eminent enhancement of the redox properties of the Pd/Co(x)/HAP catalysts. This results in an improvement of their performance in WGS reaction. The Pd species presenting an intimate contact with cobalt seems to be the responsible of the improvement of the CO conversion. However, this PdCo interaction leads to an increase in the methanation activity at the expense of WGS activity. When small amounts of O2 is added to the WGS mixture, the activity is exclusively enhanced in the presence of Co species exhibiting easier reducibility.  相似文献

The alternative technologies discussed in this review are able to eliminate pathogenic bacteria while retaining bioactive compounds such as anthocyanins, phenols, pigments, and vitamins, improve the extraction processes of fruit or vegetable juices. The use of nonthermal processing technologies in beverages might provide a higher quality value to the final product and consumers tended to prefer more natural products with minimum preservative substances. This review is analyze and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of alternative technologies applied in beverages, evaluating the parameters that can optimize beverage processing such as time, temperature, pressure, frequency, tension, among others. Additionally, finding solutions to beverage processing issues will be considered analyzing the results obtained with other applied methods, and an overview of new strategies such as microfiltration or the combination of two alternative technologies to improve the quality of the final product will also be evaluated.

Practical applications

The applications of alternative technologies mentioned in this article, are a feasible option for the preservation of beverages in the area of industry. The capacity of each of them has been demonstrated, in addition to the use of microfiltration and ultrafiltration, but the combination between them sounds very encouraging to achieve the quality and safety of beverages, with an extended shelf life and greater protection of its main components. This provides a wide range of research opportunities for any type of beverage.  相似文献

The microstructural and textural evolution was analyzed during rolling at room temperature to obtain detailed information about the failure behavior in HSLA grade-420 steel. Electron backscatter diffraction measurements were carried out in both non-cracked and cracked areas after cold rolling to find a correlation between microstructural parameters (i.e., grain orientation, grain boundary characteristics and Taylor factor) and crack propagation. The results showed that the crack tended to propagate along grains oriented with {001} planes parallel to the normal direction with high Taylor factor value. The special boundaries associated with the {111}, {110} and {221} planes were indicated as crack resistance, while ∑ 5, 13a and 17a, which related to the {001} planes, were crack-susceptible. Transgranular cracking was subjected within grains with high Taylor factor, while mismatch in Taylor factor between neighboring grains could provide an easy path for intergranular crack propagation.  相似文献
