Long urethral strictures are often treated with autologous genital skin and buccal mucosa grafts; however, risk of hair ingrowth and donor site morbidity, restrict their application. To overcome this, we introduced a tissue-engineered human urethra comprising adipose-derived stem cell (ASC)-based self-assembled scaffold, human urothelial cells (UCs) and smooth muscle cells (SMCs). ASCs were cultured with ascorbic acid to stimulate extracellular matrix (ECM) production. The scaffold (ECM) was stained with collagen type-I antibody and the thickness was measured under a confocal microscope. Results showed that the thickest scaffold (28.06 ± 0.59 μm) was achieved with 3 × 104 cells/cm2 seeding density, 100 μg/mL ascorbic acid concentration under hypoxic and dynamic culture condition. The biocompatibility assessment showed that UCs and SMCs seeded on the scaffold could proliferate and maintain the expression of their markers (CK7, CK20, UPIa, and UPII) and (α-SMA, MHC and Smootheline), respectively, after 14 days of in vitro culture. ECM gene expression analysis showed that the ASC and dermal fibroblast-based scaffolds (control) were comparable. The ASC-based scaffold can be handled and removed from the plate. This suggests that multiple layers of scaffold can be stacked to form the urothelium (seeded with UCs), submucosal layer (ASCs only), and smooth muscle layer (seeded with SMCs) and has the potential to be developed into a fully functional human urethra for urethral reconstructive surgeries. 相似文献

A scalable method for hydrogen generation by splitting water via a photoelectrochemical cell was studied. Flame spray pyrolysis and spin coating processing methods were used for preparing copper oxide nanoparticles and copper oxide photocathodes. Copper oxide p-type semiconductor nanoparticles made by flame spray pyrolysis were spin coated on conducting ITO substrates and served as photocathodes for photoelectrochemical splitting of water. The film thickness was controlled by the concentration of the CuO suspension solution and numbers of layer deposited on the substrate. As sintering temperature increased to 600 °C, crystalline diameter increased from 28 nm (before sintering) to 110 nm and the bandgaps decreased from 1.68 eV to 1.44 eV. A 387 nm thickness CuO film with bandgap 1.44 eV was demonstrated to have 1.48% total conversion efficiency and 0.91% photon-to-hydrogen generation efficiency. The net photocurrent density (photocurrent - dark current) was measured to be 1.20 mA/cm2 at applied voltage of −0.55 V vs. Ag/AgCl in 1 M KOH electrolyte with 1 sun (AM1.5G) illumination. Based on the Mott-Schottky plot, the carrier density was estimated to be 1.5 × 1021 cm−3 and the flatband potential to be 0.23 V vs. Ag/AgCl. Furthermore, the valence band edge and conduction band levels were found to lie at −5.00 eV and −3.56 eV respect to the vacuum respectively. 相似文献

Optical flow (OF) is an integral part of many vision systems, especially in the embedded and mobile application with ever-increasing challenges in achieving higher speed, minimal resource and lower power consumption. The work introduces a Dense High Throughput Optical Flow (DHTOF) architecture based on a novel fast converging Red-Black Successive Over Relaxation (RBSOR) solver architecture for computing dense and accurate OF using Horn and Schunck Optical Flow (HSOF) algorithm from Full High Definition (FHD) frames in real-time. The DHTOF architecture can capture dense OF from Ultra High Definition (UHD) frames at 48 Frames Per Second (FPS) with a throughput of 406 Megapixels/sec achieving a Throughput Per Watt (TPW) of 43 Giga Operation Per Second Per Watt (GOPS/Watt). The superscalar and deeply pipelined DHTOF architecture achieve same or lower Average Angular Error (AAE) with ≈ 4 × lesser number of RBSOR solver iterations as compared to the prior HSOF implementations based on Jacobi solver. It consumes 12.5 × lesser resources and 29.3% lower power for FHD resolution when compared to prior architectures. The proposed DHTOF architecture achieves highest area delay normalized speedup (at least by 28.2 ×) among the state of the art HSOF architectures. The successful evaluation of the proposed architecture for real-time OF sensor is demonstrated in Xilinx Virtex-VC707 Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) evaluation board. 相似文献

Lung tumor is a complex illness caused by irregular lung cell growth. Earlier tumor detection is a key factor in effective treatment planning. When assessing the lung computed tomography, the doctor has many difficulties when determining the precise tumor boundaries. By offering the radiologist a second opinion and helping to improve the sensitivity and accuracy of tumor detection, the use of computer-aided diagnosis could be near as effective. In this research article, the proposed Lung Tumor Detection Algorithm consists of four phases: image acquisition, preprocessing, segmentation, and classification. The Advance Target Map Superpixel-based Region Segmentation Algorithm is proposed for segmentation purposes, and then the tumor region is measured using the nanoimaging theory. Using the concept of boosted deep convolutional neural network yields 97.3% precision, image recognition can be achieved. A major role is played by the analysis of power system security in heightening system security and in system collapse condition avoidance. This article presents a cutting edge mechanism which is devised applying transmission line loadings as well as variance in bus voltage magnitude. The use of flexible alternating current transmission systems devices improves the objectives of generation fuel charges in addition to the severity index proposed which were investigated considering the contingency circumstances of generator(s) or/and transmission channel(s). To boost system security in spite of contingency circumstances in the existence of unified power flow controller or UPFC, it would be most appropriate to pinpoint a most advantageous position to install aforementioned device. We propose a model of UPFC where power insertion is done by using voltage source. Also a procedure to incorporate the same and a strategy to find optimum position has been proposed which uses line overload sensitivity indices. This work mainly focused on establishment of available transfer capability on the heavily congested line. The proposed congestion management scheme alleviates the heavy stress in transmission line and provides an ample corridor for the power to flow. Biogeography-based optimization or BBO in short, is a technique which is a growing recognized optimization method which has been lucratively engaged in solving intricate optimization problem in dissimilar fields. The BBO provides better results than the metaheuristic counter parts such as Genetic Algorithm and Particle Swarm Optimization. The effectiveness of proposed BBO has been tested on standard IEEE 30 bus system and the results are compared with classic methods and other metaheuristic methods. This is established through the MATLAB package. Improved bus voltage profile was also attained and it can be inferred from the outcome that the prospective approach can drastically enhance security of power system when comparing with other optimization methods. 相似文献
