In the water balance of reservoir system, evaporation plays a crucial role particularly so for the reservoir systems of smaller
size located in the semi-arid or arid regions. Such regions are most often characterized by significant seepage losses from
reservoirs, besides evaporation losses. Usually, in the optimization of a reservoir system, it is a common practice to assume
evaporation loss either as some constant value or as negligible. Such assumptions, however, may affect the results of reservoir
optimization. This is demonstrated in this study by a case study in the optimal scheduling of Pilavakkal reservoir system
in Vaipar basin of Tamilnadu, India. For modeling reservoir losses, many models are available, of which, Penman combination
model is most commonly used. In this study, an alternative approach based on Genetic Programming (GP) is proposed. The results
of GP and Penman model for both evaporation loss estimation and reservoir scheduling are compared. It is found that while
GP and Penman combination model performs equally well for estimating evaporation losses, GP is also able to model seepage
losses (or other losses from reservoir) to a much better degree. It is also shown the reservoir scheduling does get influenced

Many modern organizations integrate enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain management (SCM) systems, as they work in a complementary fashion. This often results in technical and organizational challenges. Neway, a Chinese organization, recently went through this complex process. This required efficient procurement and management of hardware, software, and human resources for successful completion. The integrated system was found to improve operations, foster a paperless environment, and provide efficient inventory tracking and picking. It also had several tangible benefits, including reduced lead time and improved inventory accuracy. ERP and SCM systems integration is still a novel concept for a Chinese manufacturing organization. A mathematical model is developed that can be used to analyze the effects of multipath on any modulation of an FM carrier. The predictions of this model are verified by simulation and by actual field testing. The model is used to analyze the existing FM stereo system and the proposed FMX system. The magnetic field effect (MFE) in conjunction with laser flash photolysis has been used for the study of the interaction of one of the small drug like quinone molecules, 2-methyl, 1,4-naphthoquinone, commonly known as menadione (MQ), with one of the DNA bases, thymine (THN), and its corresponding nucleoside, thymidine (THDN), in acetonitrile (ACN) and sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) micelles. It has been observed that THN undergoes electron transfer (ET) and hydrogen (H) abstraction with MQ, while THDN undergoes only H abstraction in both the media. However, our earlier studies showed that a purine base, adenine (ADN), and its nucleoside, 2′-deoxyadenosine (ADS), undergo ET in ACN and H abstraction in SDS. Here we have attempted to explain the differences in the reactions of these DNA bases with MQ. Photoluminescence (PL) studies on LPE-grown InP layers doped with selenium and having carrier concentrations from 1 × 1018 to 1 × 1020 cm−3 have been reported in this paper. Measurements at 300 and 77 K showed that the band to band recombination peak energy shifts
to values as high as 1·7 eV with increasing doping, the increase being sharp beyond 4 × 1019 cm−3. These results have been explained as being the result of the Burstein shift and the band-gap shrinkage. 相似文献
