The drive of this study is to develop a robust system. A method to classify brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) image into brain-related disease groups and tumor types has been proposed. The proposed method employed Gabor texture, statistical features, and support vector machine. Brain MRI images have been classified into normal, cerebrovascular, degenerative, inflammatory, and neoplastic. The proposed system has been trained on a complete dataset of Brain Atlas-Harvard Medical School. Further, to achieve robustness, a dataset developed locally has been used. Extraordinary results on different orientations, sequences of both of these datasets as per accuracy (up to 99.6%), sensitivity (up to 100%), specificity (up to 100%), precision (up to 100%), and AUC value (up to 1.0) have been achieved. The tumorous slices are further classified into primary or secondary tumor as well as their further types as glioma, sarcoma, meningioma, bronchogenic carcinoma, and adenocarcinoma, which could not be possible to determine without biopsy, otherwise.  相似文献

Abstract

Electrospinning of glass nanofibers, as one of the most important techniques for producing nanofibers, was the focus of the present research. This process was done using a carrying polymer in order to modify all important parameters of the process including the solution parameters, the electrospinning voltage, the electrospinning distance and feeding rate of the solution to achieve a desired nanofiber morphology. The produced nanofibers were pyrolyzed at a high temperature to remove the carrying polymer and the FTIR test approved that it was completely removed. The diameter of nanofibers and other details were investigated using SEM images and it was shown that the produced nanofibers have a finer diameter with an average of 228?nm and standard deviation of 46?nm in comparison to other works that reported 500?nm for these characteristics.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Recently much attention has been paid to biologically active plants because of their low production cost and fewer adverse effects compared with chemical drugs. In the present investigation the bioactivity of Phyllanthus niruri ethanol and aqueous extracts was evaluated in vitro. RESULTS: The ethanol extract of P. niruri showed a high level of flavonoid content (123.9 ± 0.002 mg g?1), while the aqueous extract showed the highest 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH; IC506.85 ± 1.80 µmol L?1) and 2,2′‐azino‐bis(3‐ethylbenzothiazoline‐6‐sulfonic acid) (ABTS; 46.44 ± 0.53 µmol L?1) free radical scavenging activities with high phenol content (376 ± 0.02 mg g?1) and elevated levels of ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP; 23 883 ± 0.019 mmol g?1) with excellent antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus (20 mm inhibition zone) and Streptococcus agalactiae (12 mm inhibition zone), respectively, in addition to the best immune activation potential of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (450.5%). CONCLUSIONS: It is clear from our results that both extracts of P. niruri has excellent bioactivity roles via elevated levels of antibacterial, antioxidant and percentage of peripheral blood mononuclear cell proliferation, which could lead to the development of medications for clinical use. Determination of biogenic amines in selected Malaysian food   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
The biogenic amines tryptamine (TRP), putrescine (PUT), histamine (HIS), tyramine (TYR) and spermidine (SPD) were determined in 62 selected food items commonly consumed in Malaysia. This include the local appetisers “budu” and “cincalok”, canned fish, salt-cured fish, meat products, fruit juice, canned vegetables/fruits and soy bean products. After the aqueous extraction, the samples were derivatised with dansyl chloride before analysing using reversed phase HPLC with UV detection. Mean levels of TRP, PUT, HIS, TYR and SPD in eight budu samples were 82.7, 38.1, 187.7, 174.7 and 5.1 mg kg−1, respectively. The main biogenic amines found in cincalok were PUT, HIS and TYR where the mean values were 330.7, 126.1 and 448.8 mg kg−1, respectively. With the exception of “pekasam” and “belacan”, significantly lower levels of biogenic amines were found in canned fish and salt-cured fish samples. Non detectable or low levels of biogenic amines were found in meat, fruit juice and canned vegetables/fruit samples.  相似文献

In the present study, spinel structure CoFe2O4 nanoparticles were successfully synthesized by the sol-gel auto-combustion technique. The effect of apple cider vinegar (ACV) addition as an organic biocompatible agent on the size, morphology, and magnetic properties of CoFe2O4 nanoparticles was investigated in detail. The phase evolution, particle size, and lattice parameter changes of the synthesized phase have been estimated by using Rietveld structure refinement analysis of X-ray powder diffraction data. Also, Fourier transform infrared spectra (FT-IR) of the samples verified the presence of two expected bands correspond to tetrahedral and octahedral metal-oxygen complexes within the spinel structure. Furthermore, microstructural observations revealed that ultrafine particles have a semi-spherical morphology. It was shown that the particles size decreased from ~45 to ~17 nm with an increase in the amount of ACV. Magnetic properties were carried out by vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) at room temperature. Both the saturation magnetization (Ms) and coercivity (Hc) were found to be significantly dependent on the crystallite size and the amount of ACV.  相似文献

Four cyclolinear poly(aryloxycyclotriphosphazenes) derived from poly[4,4′‐(isopropoylidene)diphenoxytetrachlorocyclotriphosphazene] and poly[4,4′‐(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphenoxytetrachlorocyclotriphosphazene] were synthesized from the reaction of hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene (HCP) with 4,4′‐(isopropylidene)diphenol (bisphenol A) or 4,4′‐(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphenol (bisphenol AF) in molar ratio 1 : 1 via a one‐step condensation polymerization. Subsequent reaction of the resulted chlorine‐bound polymers with adequate amount of the sodium salts of 4‐methoxycarbonylphenoxide or 4‐propoxycarbonylphenoxide yielded the corresponding chlorine‐free polymers, [poly(tetra‐4‐methoxycarbonylphenoxy)‐4,4′‐(isopropoylidene)diphenoxy cyclotriphosphazene] (MBACP), [poly(tetra‐4‐propoxycarbonylphenoxy)‐4,4′‐(isopropoylidene)diphenoxycyclotriphosphazene] (PBACP), [poly(tetra‐4‐methoxycarbonylphenoxy)‐4,4′‐(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphenoxycyclotriphosphazene] (MBAFCP), [poly(tetra‐4‐propoxycarbonylphenoxy)‐4,4′‐(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphenoxycyclotriphosphazene] (PBAFCP), respectively. The chemical structures were characterized by Fourier transformer infrared, 1H, and 13C‐NMR. Thermal properties of polymers were investigated using DSC and TGA analysis. The obtained polymers were thermoplastic, having moderate Tg values in the range of 26–78°C and good thermal stability up to 350°C in N2 and O2 gases. The thermal decomposition of the isopropylidene‐containing polymers is a one‐step process, while that of hexafluoroisopropylidene‐containing polymers is a two‐step process. However, presence of the latter group in the polymers backbone showed negligible effects on the thermo‐oxidative stability. The adhesive strength was measured by lap‐shear strength test on glass–glass bonded joint and found to be in the range of 1.78–2.62 MPa, this property may be attributed to the physical interactions between glass–glass interfaces and the polar‐pendant units present at the polymers backbone. The products showed high optical transparency when they applied between two glass surfaces, the adhesive layers were colorless, with the UV cut‐off wavelength of 300–302 nm, and the maximum transparency of about 90% was observed within the wavelengths range of 400–700 nm. Because of their properties, the cyclolinear poly(aryloxycyclotriphosphazenes) synthesized in this study are recommended as potential candidates for high thermally stable, transparent adhesives required in industrial applications. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel linear low‐density polyethylene (LLDPE)/polypropylene (PP) thermostimulative shape memory blends were prepared by melt blending with moderate crosslinked LLDPE/PP blend (LLDPE–PP) as compatibilizer. In this shape memory polymer (SMP) blends, dispersed PP acted as fixed phase whereas continuous LLDPE phase acted as reversible or switch phase. LLDPE–PP improved the compatibility of LLDPE/PP blends as shown in scanning electron microscopic photos. Dynamic mechanical analysis test showed that the melt strengths of the blends were enhanced with increasing LLDPE–PP content. A shape memory mechanism for this type of SMP system was then concluded. It was found that when the blend ratio of LLDPE/PP/LLDPE–PP was 87/13/6, the blend exhibited the best shape memory effect at stretch ratio of 80%, stretch rate of 25 mm/min, and recovery temperature of 135°C. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
