Weldlines are fatal defects in many injection moldings of thermosetting resins and thermoplastics. Significant strength reduction by weldlines in thermoplastics is caused by poor adhesion, molecular orientation, and a V-notch effect. These factors have been little investigated in detail, in spite of being well known. In the present article, the V-notch effect on strength is discussed for two types of thermoplastics, polystyrene and polycarbonate. The depth of weldlines was obtained by milling on the weldline surface, and the fracture toughness was measured with a double edge notched specimen. Polystryrene, which was drastically weakened by weldlines, had relatively deeper V-notch regions and the fracture toughness was also reduced by weldlines. Although polycarbonate had the same fracture toughness as polystyrene, it had strong weldlines since the depth of weldlines was negligibly small. 相似文献

A novel processor with micro-pipelined architecture is proposed for latch-type Josephson logic devices. The processor is segmented into several operating stages activated by a multi-phase power system. Independent register groups are allocated to each stage in order to support pipeline processing of several instruction streams. This architecture allows building of a fine pipeline pitch processor which is capable of MIMD processing. A 12-bit micro-pipelined Josephson processor, containing an ALU, a multiplier and 16 registers, is described. Driven by a 3-phase AC power system, it is able to process 4 instruction streams simultaneously. A pipeline pitch of 3.3 GHz is expected using conventional Josephson device technology. Frequency accelerated partial discharge (PD) aging of epoxy nanocomposite with 5 wt % additions of clay was investigated in comparison with that of epoxy without clay in terms of PD erosion depth. It was found that the change in the erosion depth is far smaller in specimens with clay than those without clay. The newly developed organic modification and solubilization methods give comparable PD resistance characteristics. The latter would be more resistant to PD's than the former, if specimens were prepared properly. It was clarified that nano-micro mixed composites were superior to the single nanocomposite. Nano segmentation with some interaction zone effect is proposed as a mechanism of improvement in PD resistance. 相似文献

The enantio-differentiating hydrogenation of methyl acetoacetate was carried out over a (R,R)-tartaric acid-NaBr-modified reduced Ni catalyst. Reduced Ni was pre-modified in a methanol solution of tartaric acid and NaBr. Although many cities have planed to develop sewerages in developing countries, sewerage establishment still requires huge investment and engineering efforts. Improvement of existing sanitation facilities may contribute the betterment of urban sanitation before sewerage establishment. The purpose of this study is to propose a measure to improve urban sanitation in areas where a sewerage development plan is proposed but has not been yet established, based on a case study in Hanoi, Vietnam. We found that 90.5% of human excreta flowed into septic tanks. However, 89.6% of septic tanks have never been desludged in the past and their performance was observed to be at a low level. The study also showed that if they introduce regular desludging with a frequency of once a year, they can eliminate 72.8% of COD loads from septic tanks. It was indicated that the performance can be dramatically recovered by regular desludging, which could contribute urban sanitation improvement in Hanoi. In conclusion, the performance recovery of septic tanks by regular desludging was proposed as a provisional-and-urgent measure for urban sanitation improvement, together with the septage treatment in sewage sludge treatment facilities, which should be established earlier than other facilities of sewage treatment systems. 相似文献

A 2.0 L volume of EGSB reactor was operated at 20 degrees C for more than 500 days with 0.3-0.4 g COD/L of sucrose base wastewater to investigate the influence of effluent-recirculation on the process performance. At the start up period, the reactor was operated in EGSB mode with 5 m/h upflow velocity by continuous effluent recirculation. The COD loading was set to 7.2-9.6 kg COD/m(3) day with HRT of 1 hour. However, in this mode, EGSB reactor exhibited insufficient COD removal efficiency, i.e., 50-60%. Therefore, UASB mode (without recirculation, 0.7 m/h upflow velocity) was used for 30 minutes in every 40 minutes cycle to increase the COD concentration in the sludge bed. As a result, an excellent process performance was shown. The COD removal efficiency increased from 65% to 91% and the reactor could maintain a good physical property of retained sludge (sludge concentration: 33.4 g VSS/L and SVI: 25 mL/g VSS). This paper describes a technology that can be used to integrate multigigahertz RF circuits into large-scale digital circuits. Spiral inductors and a MOSFET amplifier with an inductive load were fabricated on a SIMOX wafer in order to demonstrate the feasibility of SOI technology. With a 1-V supply voltage, peaking of the amplifier gain was observed, as expected from circuit simulations, at 1-4 GHz.
