Predicting PVT properties of Egyptian crude oils by a modified Soave–Redlich–Kowng equation of state

The study aims to predict the physical properties of Egyptian crude oils using modified Soave–Redlich–Kowng equation of state. The modification was theoretically developed and then performed by using data of 43 black oil samples representing all active oil producing areas of Egypt. The equation enables to predict the bubble-point pressure, oil formation volume factor, gas–oil ratio, oil density, crude oil gravity, gas gravity and gas formation volume factor of black oils with average relative errors ranging from 0.01% to 10.713%.Calculation sensitivity of the proposed MSRKE is determined by testing four oil samples collected from different locations in Egypt and comparing the measured PVT properties with those calculated from MSRKE. These evaluations show an excellent agreement between the measured properties and calculated ones.The estimation of reservoir liquid and gas properties from MSRKE is often needed when detailed laboratory PVT data are not available. 相似文献

Dehulled sesame seeds were roasted using different heat treatments. The effects of roasting treatments on the nutritive value, physicochemical properties and sensory properties of produced tahina were studied. Resultant tahina contained 586–594 g kg−1 crude oil, 219–226 g kg−1 crude protein and <30 g kg−1 crude fibre and ash. Crude protein, crude fibre, ash and N‐free extract in tahina samples were not affected by roasting treatments. However, crude oil was decreased by steam roasting and hot plate roasting. Hot plate roasting was more effective in reducing raffinose content than other roasting treatments, whereas vacuum roasting was less effective in reducing raffinose content than other roasting treatments. Tahinas were good sources of essential amino acids, especially sulphur‐containing amino acids, aromatic amino acids and tryptophan. Hot air roasted tahina followed by vacuum roasted tahina had higher total essential amino acid contents than steam roasted and hot plate roasted tahinas. Lysine was the first limiting amino acid in tahinas. Tahinas had a relatively high in vitro protein digestibility (over 83%). Tahina is a good source of niacin. Hot air roasted tahina had the highest content of B group vitamins compared with other tahina samples. Resultant tahinas had relatively high amounts of Na, Mg, K, Cu, Zn and Fe and a low amount of Ca. Roasting treatments did not affect the mineral contents. All roasted samples had a typical protein spectrum with a maximum absorption at 280 nm and minimum at 260 nm. However, the spectrum of hot air roasted tahina proteins was sharper than the spectra of other tahina proteins. Size exclusion HPLC fractionated tahina proteins into two fractions for hot roasted and vacuum roasted tahinas and three fractions for steam roasted and hot plate roasted tahinas. The gel filtration pattern of tahina proteins contained four peaks with identical elution volumes but different proportions. Hot air roasted and vacuum roasted tahinas had higher panel scores than steam roasted and hot plate roasted tahinas for all tested sensory properties. © 2000 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献

In this paper, we present a method for designing temperature-compensated cavity resonators using shape memory alloys (SMAs). This paper gives an expression for the temperature drift of resonant frequency, which is valid for any conductor-loaded cavity regardless of its shape. This formula, combined with a field perturbation model, is used to derive the resonant frequency of an SMA-compensated resonator subject to temperature fluctuation. Experimental results are given that confirm the feasibility of the proposed design approach. A design method is proposed for specifying SMA alloys to build the actuator. Drilling muds are complex fluids, generally used to clean the well, maintain hole integrity, transport the rock cuttings, lubricate the drill bit and control formation pressures. Two basic types of drilling fluids are used, water based muds (WBM) and oil based muds (OBM). OBM are very effective but polluting, and environmental regulations continue to restrict the use of oil based muds in many areas of the world. In order to reduce the mud toxicity, we developed water based mud systems using two biopolymers, which are xanthan gum and scleroglucan, generally proposed for high permeability reservoirs or for complex geometries such as horizontal wells. In this study, we evaluated the rheological behaviour of different samples and we determined the effect of components such as clay, calcium carbonate and potassium chloride. Concurrency control is the activity of synchronizing operations issued by concurrent executing transactions on a shared database. The aim of this control is to provide an execution that has the same effect as a serial (non-interleaved) one. The optimistic concurrency control technique allows the transactions to execute without synchronization, relying on commit-time validation to ensure serializability. Effectiveness of the optimistic techniques depends on the conflict rate of transactions. Since different systems have various patterns of conflict and the patterns may also change over time, so applying the optimistic scheme to the entire system results in degradation of performance. In this paper, a novel algorithm is proposed that dynamically selects the optimistic or pessimistic approach based on the value of conflict rate. The proposed algorithm uses an adaptive resonance theory–based neural network in making decision for granting a lock or detection of the winner transaction. In addition, the parameters of this neural network are optimized by a modified gravitational search algorithm. On the other hand, in the real operational environments we know the writeset (WS) and readset (RS) only for a fraction of transactions set before execution. So, the proposed algorithm is designed based on optional knowledge about WS and RS of transactions. Experimental results show that the proposed hybrid concurrency control algorithm results in more than 35 % reduction in the number of aborts in high-transaction rates as compared to strict two-phase locking algorithm that is used in many commercial database systems. This paper proposes a novel equidistant vector-based hysteresis current regulator (VBHCR) in the rotor-side converter (RSC) of DFIG-based wind generation systems. The Γ-form equivalent circuit is used for the machine modelling, with the discrete formulation of the RSC output voltage. The overall vector control scheme is then explored and the control structure of the proposed equidistant VBHCR is presented. When compared to the commonly used PI current regulators, the proposed VBHCR exhibits several advantages such as very fast transient response, simple hardware implementation, satisfactory steady-state performance, and intrinsic robustness to machine parameters variations. Moreover, fixed hysteresis bands are replaced with equidistant bands in order to limit the instantaneous variations of the switching frequency and reduce the maximum switching frequency of the RSC. Detailed simulation studies are carried out for a 1.5 MW DFIG-based wind generator to examine the operation of the proposed current regulator under various operating conditions and demonstrate its superiority over the standard PI current regulator. 相似文献

Tumor growth which undergoes complex bio-mechanical processes has been a significant focus for mathematical modeling, with particular interest in its dynamic behavior. In this paper, we consider a two-phase flow model for describing the dynamics of tumor growth. The model accounts for aggregate cell movement and mechanical interactions between tumor cells as well as cell proliferation. In suitable limits, by using the dynamical systems theory approach, tumor growth in this mechanical model is shown to occur in the form of traveling waves that can propagate either forward or backward, depending on the values of the parameters. Our results, in particular, the wave profiles of tumor cell density are more realistic and explain those obtained in a recently developed simple, experiment-based, model for studying non-spatial dynamics of tumor cells. 相似文献
