Ferromagnetic nanowires are likely to play an important role in future spintronic devices. Magnetic domain walls, which separate regions of opposing magnetization in a nanowire, can be manipulated and used to encode information for storage or to perform logic operations. Owing to their reduced size and dimensionality, the characterization of domain-wall motion is an important problem. To compete with other technologies, high-speed operation, and hence fast wall propagation, is essential. However, the domain-wall dynamics in nanowires has only been investigated in the last five years and some results indicate a drastic slowing down of wall motion in higher magnetic fields. Here we show that the velocity-field characteristic of a domain wall in a nanowire shows two linear regimes, with the wall mobility at high fields reduced tenfold from that at low fields. The transition is marked by a region of negative differential mobility and highly irregular wall motion. These results are in accord with theoretical predictions that, above a threshold field, uniform wall movement gives way to turbulent wall motion, leading to a substantial drop in wall mobility. Our results help resolve contradictory reports of wall propagation velocities in laterally confined geometries, and underscore the importance of understanding and enhancing the breakdown field for practical applications.  相似文献

The effect of acid activation on bentonite affinity toward carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrogen (H2) was investigated at ambient conditions. Characterization through X-ray diffraction and fluorescence, thermal gravimetric analysis, nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms, Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry allowed correlating newly induced textural and structural features with adsorptive properties. Optimum acid treatment improved the specific surface area and porosity. The resulting decrease in dehydration temperature indicates decay in hydrophilic character. The affinity improvement towards hydrogen was due to Brønsted acidity suppression and surface basicity attenuation, which are essential requirements for adsorption on aluminosilicates (AS) via weak Lewis Acid-Base interactions, but excessive acid attack was detrimental. Low Si/Al surfaces should be suitable for CO2 capture, while moderately acid-treated clays should be interesting candidates as hydrogen adsorbents. This allows envisaging promising prospects for low-cost AS-based materials intended for selective CO2-free capture and storage of hydrogen without energy and safety constraints.  相似文献

The study presents the possibility to use the 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate--HEMA copolymer with a comonomer with spiroacetal moiety, 3,9-divinyl-2,4,8,10-tetraoxaspiro[5.5]-undecane)-U, as polymer network for loading the indomethacin--INN as drug model, and also, the controlled release evaluation of the prepared bioactive system. The macromolecular compounds were prepared by radical dispersion polymerization in the presence of a pair of surfactants. The use of cyclodextrin as surfactant allowed the building of the host-guest complexes by inclusion of hydrophobic molecules. Also, the cyclodextrin supplemented the hydrogen bonds and the hydrophobic interactions responsible for the stability of the achieved complexes. The copolymers composition and the INN inclusion onto the polymeric matrix were confirmed by FTIR analysis. The porous structure of the lyophilized P(HEMA-U) samples was illustrated by SEM images. The swelling studies evidenced the interdependence between P(HEMA-U) network properties and the spiroacetal moiety amount. Thus, the copolymers presented the increase of the equilibrium swelling degree with pH and temperature. Also, the polymeric matrices manifested dual sensitivity with pH and temperature. The in vitro release of the INN drug from the polymeric network as well as the in vivo experimental studies evidenced the benefit consequence of the spiroacetal compound presence. The clinical observation of the experimental groups does not show any behavioral modifications to suggest a possible toxic effect of these polymeric formulations with and without INN.  相似文献

The extended finite element method (X‐FEM) has been developed to minimize requirements on the mesh design in a problem with a displacement discontinuity. This advantage, however, still remains limited to the small deformation hypothesis when considering sliding discontinuities. The approach presented in this paper proposes to couple X‐FEM with a Lagrangian large sliding frictionless contact algorithm. A new hybrid X‐FEM contact element was developed with a contact search algorithm allowing for an update of contacting surfaces pairing. The stability of the contact formulation is ensured by an algorithm for fulfilling Ladyzhenskaya‐Babuska‐Brezzi (LBB) condition. This work presents the design and optimization of amperometric biosensors for the determination of biogenic amines (e.g., histamine, putrescine, cadaverine, tyramine, cystamine, agmatine, spermidine), commonly present in food products, and their application for monitoring of freshness in fish samples. The biosensors were used as the working electrodes of a three-electrode electrochemical cell of wall-jet type, operated at -50 mV vs Ag/AgCl, in a flow injection system. Two different bienzyme electrode designs were considered, one based on the two enzymes [a newly isolated and purified amine oxidase (AO) and horseradish peroxidase (HRP)] simply adsorbed onto graphite electrodes, and one when they were cross-linked to an Os-based redox polymer. The redox hydrogel-based biosensors showed better biosensors characteristics, i.e., sensitivity of 0.194 A M-1 cm-2 for putrescine and 0.073 A M-1 cm-2 for histamine, and detection limits (calculated as three times the signal-to-noise ratio) of 0.17 microM for putrescine and 0.33 microM for histamine. The optimized redox hydrogel-based biosensors were evaluated in terms of stability and selectivity, and were used for the determination of total amine content in fish samples kept for 10 days in different conditions.  相似文献

Interactive online help systems are considered to be a fruitful supplement to traditional IT helpdesks, which are often overloaded. They often comprise user-generated FAQ collections playing the role of technology-based conceptual artifacts. Two main questions arise: how the conceptual artifacts should be used, and which factors influence their acceptance in a community of practice (CoP). Firstly, this paper offers a theoretical frame and a usage scenario for technology-based conceptual artifacts against the theoretical background of the academic help-seeking and CoP approach. Each of the two approaches is extensively covered by psychological and educational research literature, however their combination is not yet sufficiently investigated. Secondly, the paper proposes a research model explaining the acceptance of conceptual artifacts. The model includes users' expectations toward the artifact, perceived social influence and users' roles in the CoP as predictors of artifact use intention and actual usage. A correlational study conducted in an academic software users' CoP and involving structural equations modeling validates the model, suggesting thus a research line that is worth further pursuing. For educational practice, the study suggests three ways of supporting knowledge sharing in CoPs, i.e. use of technology-based conceptual artifacts, roles and division of labor, and purposeful communication in CoPs.  相似文献
