This study mainly focuses on the formation of isotactic polypropylene (iPP) blend morphologies with microspheres and distinct bead–string spherulites. iPP microspheres have been prepared by a simple and convenient strategy through either an isothermal or a nonisothermal crystallization process based on the macrophase‐separated structure in molten state of iPP/olefin block copolymer (OBC) blend. The dimension of the iPP spheres can be adjusted easily from about 1 µm to >10 µm by controlling the compatibility and annealing conditions. It was found that any of the following three parameters, the molecular structure of OBC (particularly the octene content), molecular weight of iPP, and annealing condition can be rescaled with others in controlling the dimension of the iPP microspheres. The mechanism of the formation of iPP microspheres was studied in detail. Surprisingly, the typical spinodal decomposition morphology with interconnected or thin sheet structure is the precursor of these microspheres. During the subsequent annealing process, it breaks up and further coarsens into spherical structure. In addition, distinct spherulites with a bead–string substructure have been obtained during the isothermal crystallization. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Aminophenoxazinone dyes with variable water solubilities were assayed for the first time in a live‐cell imaging application. Among a library of ten sulfonylated chromophores, one compound gave excellent results as an endocytic marker, showing a precise subcellular distribution. The compound was compared to four commercial vital tracers, including Lucifer Yellow. The first laccase‐mediated regioselective synthesis of a diphosphorylated 2‐aminophenoxazinone dye was also described. This compound, water‐soluble at 10?2 M , displayed modest fluorescence properties and the ability to complex Mg2+ and Ca2+ cations, therefore giving fluorescence quenching.  相似文献

Results of a statistical analysis of transport properties measurements carried out on a number of concrete mixtures are presented. Migration and drying experiments were performed to evaluate the ionic diffusion coefficients and permeability of concrete mixtures. Seven concrete mixtures were tested. The mixtures were either batched under laboratory conditions or sampled from construction sites. For each mixture, approximately eighty concrete samples from a single batch were tested. Ionic diffusion coefficients were calculated by analyzing the evolution of the electrical current passing through concrete samples during the migration tests. Calculations took into account the volume of permeable pores of the materials and the pore solution chemistry. Permeability was calculated from mass loss measured during drying tests. The study indicates that the coefficient of variation of ionic diffusion coefficients is 11.1 % on average, with a maximum of 23.5 %, and that the coefficient of variation of permeability is 20.6 % on average, with a maximum of 37.3 %.  相似文献

The current view of instrumental conditioning indicates that performance in the early stage of training is maintained by a representation of the outcome, as indexed by its sensitivity to changes in the value of the reward. In the present study, the authors tested the effects of a disconnection of the prelimbic cortex (PL) and the basolateral nucleus of the amygdale (BLA), using an asymmetric lesion procedure, to determine whether these structures interact sequentially as part of a corticolimbic system. In marked contrast to the effects of bilateral lesions of the PL or the BLA, which both altered rats' sensitivity to outcome devaluation, the disconnection of these 2 brain areas was without an effect on outcome devaluation. These results demonstrate that the PL and the BLA mediate different aspects of outcome representation in goal-directed responding. Third World rural planning involves the transfer of First World technologies to the socially and ecologically vulnerable tropical environment. This transfer is guided by normative, “ideological” views concerning social and environmental issues which often remain implicit. To uncover these views, a content analysis of a series of papers has been carried out, focused on impoldering as a type of project with far reaching social and environmental impacts. Three types of “ideologies” could be distinguished, which have been labelled as sociocratic, eco‐sociocratic and technocratic. They differentiate significantly with regard to (1) values attached to ecological and cultural systems, (2) preferred pace and scale of projects, (3) envisaged project feasibility, (4) the range of feasible alternatives, as well as (5) the institutional background of their adherents. The latter separation, however, is not complete. This may stimulate the growth of insight in the normative background of the seemingly objective rationality of project design.  相似文献

System-level packaging is one of the critical issues that need to be addressed for free space optical interconnections (FSOI) to become useful in desktop systems. The performance of FSOI, e.g., in terms of system bit-error rate, is greatly affected by misalignments in the optical system. Therefore tolerancing, i.e., the ability to analyze and predict the effects of misalignments in the system, is of prime importance to system designers. We introduce an approach in which we study the effects of optical misalignments and other tolerance factors using statistical methods. We use Monte Carlo simulations, design of the experiments, and regression techniques to fit a polynomial equation that expresses the relationship between the system performance and the tolerance factors. This prediction model can be used for design, cost optimization, and quality control purposes. In addition, we perform a sensitivity analysis to determine those tolerance variables that have the greatest effect on system performance.  相似文献

In the present study, electrospray ionization mass spectrometry is used to evaluate the metal-binding selectivities of an array of novel caged macrocycles for mercury(II), lead(II), cadmium(II), and zinc(II) ions. In homogeneous methanol/chloroform solutions as well as extractions of metals from aqueous solution by macrocycles in chloroform, it is found that the type of heteroatom (S, O, N), cavity size, and presence of other substituents influence the metal selectivities. Several of the macrocycles in this study bind mercury ion very selectively and efficiently in the presence of many other metal ions and have an avidity toward mercury that was tunable by the size and combination of heteroatoms in the macrocycle ring and the number of cage groups attached. The extraction mechanism was further investigated by determining the variation in extraction selectivity as a function of the counterions of the mercury salts.  相似文献

Electrospray ionization (ESI)/quadrupole ion trap mass spectrometry is used to evaluate the heavy metal binding selectivities of five caged crown ethers and two polyether reference compounds in methanol solution. The binding preferences for Hg2+, Pb2+, Cd2+, and Cu2+ were analyzed by comparison of ESI mass spectral intensities with the aim of developing this method for the rapid screening of binding selectivities of new synthetic ligands. The cage compounds preferentially bind Hg2+, except for the cage cryptand derivative, which favors Pb2+. The preference for Hg2+ stems from the favorable positioning of the nitrogen or sulfur atoms for linear coordination of Hg2+, whereas the cryptand derivative favors Pb2+ because of its larger cavity size. The counterions of the metal salts influence the type of complexes observed in the ESI mass spectra because the strengths of the metal-anion bonds affect retention of the anion in the complexes.  相似文献
