At the macroscopic scale, concrete appears as a composite made of a cement paste matrix with embedded aggregates. The latter are covered by interfacial transition zones (ITZs) of reduced stiffness and strength. Cracking in the ITZs is probably the key to the nonlinear stress–strain behavior in the prepeak regime. For a deeper understanding of this effect triggered by tensile microstress peaks, we here employ and extend the framework of continuum micromechanics, as to develop analytical solutions relating the macroscopic stresses acting on a piece of concrete, to microtractions at the aggregates' surfaces and to three‐dimensional stress states within the ITZs. In the latter context, a new aggregate‐to‐ITZ stress concentration tensor is derived based on the separation‐of‐scale principle, which implies that ITZs may be modeled as two‐dimensional interfaces at the concrete scale, but as three‐dimensional bulk phases at the scale of a few micrometers. Microtensile peaks occur both under uniaxial macroscopic tension and compression. To describe the respective microtraction and microstress fields, it is suitable to define aggregate's “poles” and “equator” by an “axis” through the aggregate center, directed in the uniaxial macroscopic loading direction. Accordingly, tensile microtraction peaks, induced by macro‐tension and macro‐compression, respectively, occur at the “poles” and at the “equator”, respectively. The largest tensile ITZ‐microstresses occur at an offset of about π/8 from the “poles” and the “equator”, respectively. These fields of microtractions and ITZ microstresses are prerequisites for upscaling ITZ‐related strength to the macroscopic concrete level, as presented in the companion paper (Part II).  相似文献

This paper investigated the uniaxial mechanical properties of a new type of hollow sphere structures. We present an algorithm for robust and efficient contact handling of deformable objects. By being aware of the internal dynamics of the colliding objects, our algorithm provides smooth rolling and sliding, stable stacking, robust impact handling, and seamless coupling of heterogeneous objects, all in a unified manner. We achieve dynamicsawareness through a constrained dynamics formulation with implicit complementarity constraints, and we present two major contributions that enable an efficient solution of the constrained dynamics problem: a time stepping algorithm that robustly ensures non-penetration and progressively refines the formulation of constrained dynamics, and a new solver for large mixed linear complementarity problems, based on iterative constraint anticipation. We show the application of our algorithm in challenging scenarios such as multi-layered cloth moving at high velocities, or colliding deformable solids simulated with large time steps.  相似文献

An updated version of the ITER Preliminary Safety Report has been produced and submitted to the licensing authorities. It is revised and expanded in response to requests from the authorities after their review of an earlier version in 2008, to reflect enhancements in ITER safety provisions through design changes, to incorporate new and improved safety analyses and to take into account other ITER design evolution. The updated analyses show that changes to the Tokamak cooling water system design have enhanced confinement and reduced potential radiological releases as well as removing decay heat with very high reliability. New and updated accident scenario analyses, together with fire and explosion risk analyses, have shown that design provisions are sufficient to minimize the likelihood of accidents and reduce potential consequences to a very low level. Taken together, the improvements provided a stronger demonstration of the very good safety performance of the ITER design.  相似文献

We present the material 2,3,10,11-tetrabutyl-1,4,9,12-tetraphenyl-diindeno[1,2,3-cd:1′,2′,3′-lm] perylene (Bu4-Ph4-DIP) as alternative green donor for bulk heterojunction small molecule organic solar cells (SMOSC). It is shown that Bu4-Ph4-DIP exhibits suitable absorption characteristics to be a potential material to fill the absorption gap between the commonly used standard absorbers ZnPc and C60.Devices with bulk heterojunctions of Bu4-Ph4-DIP:C60 display very high open circuit voltages of 0.99 V, high fill factors of up to 57%, and experiments yield promising efficiencies of η>2%. Such green-blue absorbing SMOSC are characterized by current voltage and external quantum efficiency measurements, and material properties are studied. It is shown that the devices are responsive to substrate heating, and that different donor-acceptor mixing ratios can increase device performance. Possible influences of mixing ratio and heating on device morphology and electrical properties are discussed.  相似文献
