The effect of the specific surface area of silica gels on the radiation-induced polymerization of styrene adsorbed on silica gel was studied by ESR. The same radicals were generated on the silica gels regardless of the specific surface area, but the stability of the radicals at room temperature depended on the specific surface area. This means that the decay of the radicals proceeded mainly on the surface of the silica gel. Almost all the radicals generated by irradiation were initially in the bulk of the silica gel and migrated from the interior to the surface of the gel. When styrene monomer was adsorbed on the surface of the silica gel, the silica gel radicals interacted with the monomer and initiated polymerization and then generated polymer. The rate of migration of the silica gel radical was rather fast in the case of silica gel with a large specific surface area. Thus, the polymerization behavior of styrene adsorbed on silica gel greatly depended on the specific surface area of the gel.  相似文献

Poly(ethylene-co-vinyl alcohol) (EVOH) hollow fiber membranes with ultrafiltration performance were prepared from EVOH/glycerol systems via thermally induced phase separation (TIPS). The diluent glycerol was used as bore liquid to make a lumen of the hollow fiber for the purpose of prevention of the diluent evaporation and the larger pores formation at the inner surface of the hollow fiber. The obtained hollow fiber membranes showed asymmetric structures with skin layer near the outer surface, the larger pores just below the skin layer and the smaller pores near the inner surface. The formation of the larger pores near the outer surface was due to the enhanced pore growth by the water penetration. Some primary factors affecting the structure and performance of the membranes such as ethylene content (EC) in EVOH, cooling water bath temperature and take-up speed were studied extensively. The water permeability can be improved by increasing the water bath temperature and the take-up speed and by decreasing the EC. Both the pore size at the outer surface and the connectivity between the pores have to be considered together to understand the experimental result of the water permeability and the solute rejection.  相似文献

To identify the sites important for the different biologicalactivities of human interleukin-l (hIL-1), 56 single-amino acid-substitutedmutants of hIL-l were produced in Escherichia coli using site-directedmutagenesis, and were examined for their biological activitiessuch as mouse lymphocyte activating factor activity (LAF activity),cytostatic activity against human melanoma cells A-375 (A375activity) and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) inducing activity in humanosteosarcoma cells MG-63 (PEI activity). Two amino acid residues,Asp26 and Asp151, were found to be important for these activities.The replacement of Asp26 by Val caused a decrease in LAF andA375 activities by one or two orders of magnitude and a slightdecrease in A375 activity. The Tyr or Phe substitution for Asp151caused decreases in LAF and A375 activities by one or two ordersof magnitude and complete loss of PEI activity. The change fromAsp151 to Lys or Arg resulted in marked decrease in LAF activityand complete loss of A375 and PEI activities. Since Asp26 andAsp151 are close to each other in the three-dimensional structure,the region involving these amino acids seems to be importantfor the biological activities of hIL-1.  相似文献

Nanowire TiO2 thin films were successfully prepared on Ti metal substrates by hydrothermal treatment of calcined Ti foils in 10 M NaOH. The nanowire TiO2 thin films exhibited much larger surface area and higher photoelectrochemical performance than the TiO2 thin films prepared on Ti metal substrates by the calcination of Ti foil. These nanowire films were shown to act as an efficient photoanodes for the photoelectrochemical water splitting reaction.  相似文献

The attraction of the scarab beetleAnomala octiescostata to dandelion,Taraxacum officinale, was demonstrated to be chemically mediated by a mixture ofcis-3-hexenyl acetate, benzaldehyde, phenylacetaldehyde, benzyl alcohol, phenethyl alcohol, phenylacetonitrile, and benzyl benzoate, in the ratio 4:8:14:3:5:19:11. Combination of the synthetic kairomone and sex pheromone (buibuilactone + japonilure, 8:2), significantly increased the total catches ofA. octiescostata. Catches of male (but not female) beetles were significantly higher with the kairomone-pheromone blend than with kairomone alone. The synergistic effect of the kairomone from dandelion on the attractiveness did not significantly differ from that of a food-type lure, anethol, geraniol, and phenethyl propionate (9:0.5:0.5). The latter combined with the synthetic sex pheromone resulted in better attraction of female (but not male)A. octiescostata than the sex pheromone alone.  相似文献

A 7.03‐in. extended graphics array reflective LCD prototype has been developed by using memory‐in‐pixel (MIP) technologies with a newly designed system and pixel structure. The MIP system comprising a MIP backplane and a display driver has been optimized to reduce power consumption. The MIP backplane has specific circuits that allow accessing row drivers randomly, and the display driver manages which row should be accessed. Thus, the system is capable of showing a mixture of still and moving images, resulting in low power consumption. A dithering block embedded in the display driver enables to select an appropriate dithering algorithm according to the types of images and the position on the screen. In addition, the novel pixel structure, “three divided patterns”, has been designed to improve image quality and to provide visibility in dark environments. The latter is based on a novel approach; interpixel area is used for an aperture to transmit light from the backlight, and the fringe field from adjacent pixel electrodes is used to control LC directions. The feature of the pixel structure is also effective for obtaining equivalent gamma between reflective and transmissive images.  相似文献

Thermal treatment of titanium(IV) butoxide dissolved in 2-butanol at 573 K under autogenous pressure (alcohothermal treatment) yielded microcrystalline anatase-type titanium(IV) oxide (TiO2). Thermal treatment of oxobis(2,4-pentanedionato-O,O′)titanium (TiO(acac)2) in ethylene glycol (EG) in the presence of sodium acetate and a small amount of water at 573 K yielded microcrystalline brookite-type TiO2. Tungsten(VI) oxide (WO3) powders of monoclinic crystal structure with high crystallinity were synthesized by hydrothermal treatment (HTT), at 523 or 573 K, of aqueous tungstic acid (H2WO4) solutions prepared from sodium tungstate by ion-exchange (IE) with a proton-type resin. Anatase and brookite TiO2 products were calcined at various temperatures and then used for photocatalytic mineralization of acetic acid in aqueous solutions under aerated conditions and dehydrogenation of 2-propanol under deaerated conditions. Almost all the anatase-type TiO2 samples showed the activities more than twice higher than those of representative active photocatalysts, Degussa P-25 and Ishihara ST-01 in both reactions. A brookite sample with improved crystallinity and sufficient surface area obtained by calcination at 973 K exhibited the hydrogen evolution rate almost equal to P-25. HTT WO3 powders with various physical properties were used as photocatalyst for evolution of oxygen (O2) from an aqueous silver sulfate solution. WO3 powder of high crystallinity, e.g., IE-HTT-WO3 synthesized at 573 K, gave much higher O2 yield than commercially available WO3 samples.  相似文献

Measurement of human body is useful for ergonomic design in manufacturing. We aim to accurately measure the shapes of human feet for the design of shoes, for which measuring the dynamic shape of the foot in motion is important because the foot deforms while walking or running. In this paper, we propose a method for measuring the anatomical feature cross-sections of the foot while walking. The dynamic shape of feature cross-section has never been measured, though those features are very basic and popular. Our proposed method is based on the multi-view stereo method. The target cross-sections are painted in individual colors (red, green, yellow and blue). Several nonlinear conditions are introduced in the process to find the consistent correspondence in all images. We show that the proposed method for dynamic measurement achieved the desired accuracy similar to existing 3D static foot scanners.  相似文献

A method for the measurement of electron probe beam diameter by digital image processing has recently been published. The purpose of the present report is to describe the development of an automatic system for beam diameter measurement. To complete this system, a method based on a theory which combines automation and high-resolution conditions is proposed. In practice, the beam diameter is measured from the STEM image of a crystalline hole in a gold thin film, utilizing an on-line computer system equipped with newly developed digital processing programs linked to a SEM in the transmission mode. The functions of the programs include statistical processing, matching, noise removal, interpolation, selection, and rotation. By combining these functions, the scanning beam diameter is accurately measured, in spite of difficulties, under most electron microscope operating conditions. The user simply appoints the edge included in the STEM image.  相似文献

Recently there has been interest in self-dual codes over finite rings. In this note, g-fold joint weight enumerators of codes over the ring ℤ k of integers modulo k are introduced as a generalization of the biweight enumerators. We establish the MacWilliams relations for these weight enumerators and investigate the biweight enumerators of self-dual codes over ℤ k .
