This paper highlights the key advantages of the three-dimensional (3-D) MMIC technology in the millimeter-wave frequency band and describes recently developed compact 3-D MMICs on GaAs and Si substrates. The 3-D MMIC technology offers high integration levels, compactness, simple design procedures, and short fabrication turn-around time, resulting in millimeter-wave MMICs at greatly reduced cost. This paper also proposes a new methodology for MMIC development based on 3-D/multilayer MMIC technology that accelerates the cost reduction of millimeter-wave MMICs. This study was undertaken in order to investigate the effect of reduced ambient pressure from an atmospheric pressure (101 kPa) to 0.1 kPa on one-pass full penetration welding of thick high-tensile strength steel plate of 23 mm thickness. A 16 kW disk laser of 1030 nm in wavelength was employed to weld HT980 grade plates at the speed of 5–25 mm/s. In partial penetration welding, it was revealed that humping phenomena occurred easily. Full penetration welding of the high-tensile strength steel plates could not be achieved at 101 kPa. On the other hand, full penetration welding was obtained at the welding speed of less than 20 mm/s at the pressure of less than 10 kPa. Especially, at 0.1 kPa, and 17 and 20 mm/s, sound weld joints without defects were obtained. According to the observation results of a keyhole inlet and a surface molten pool during welding with a high-speed video camera, the melt in front of a keyhole was smaller and the behaviour of a keyhole and a plume was much more stable at 0.1 kPa than at 101 kPa. Moreover, in the full penetration welding, spattering was suppressed under the proper conditions. Such phenomena became more stable in fast welding. It was revealed in laser welding of thick high-tensile strength steel plates that the formation of narrow I-shaped weld beads by achieving full-penetration welding in low vacuum was essential for the production of sound welds without defect. 相似文献

Target delivery and controlled release of the chemopreventive drug sulindac that possesses low water solubility present a
great challenge for its pharmaceutical industry. Here, we offered an advanced nanomatrix formulation system of sulindac based
on layered double hydroxide materials. The X-ray analysis and infrared spectroscopy confirmed the incorporation of sulindac
into the gallery of the layered double hydroxides. The incorporation ratios of sulindac were recorded to be 45, 31 and 20
for coprecipitation, anion-exchange and reconstruction techniques, respectively. The scanning electron microscopy showed a
nanomatrix-structure of ~50 nm. The release studies of sulindac-nanomatrix showed a 96% controlled release at the small intestine
solution during 3 h(s), indicating an enhancement in the dissolution profile of sulindac after the matrix formation. The layered
structure of the matrix supplied sulindac with a well-ordered structure and a relatively hydrophobic microenvironment that
controlled the guest hydrolysis and reactivity during the release process. The laminar structure of layered double hydroxides
offered a safe preservation for sulindac against photodecarboxylation, and enhanced the drug thermal stability from 190 to
230° C. The ionic electrostatic interaction of sulindac through its acidic group with layered double hydroxides demolished

The industrial production of barley shochu, a distilled alcoholic beverage, results in distillery waste that is currently incinerated or disposed of in landfills, causing environmental pollution. The supernatant of distillery waste contains organic matter such as proteins ( approximately 2.5%) and amino acids ( approximately 0.2%). This study demonstrates that the utilization of distillery wastewater as a sole nitrogen source enables a marine thraustochytrid, Schizochytrium sp. strain KH105, to propagate and accumulate valuable lipids including docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and astaxanthin. Under optimized culture conditions, the highest DHA and astaxanthin yields were obtained at 3.4 g/l and 7.7 mg/l, respectively, after 4 or 5 d of cultivation in a 3-l jar fermentor. The chemical oxygen demand of the wastewater was reduced by 35%. About 67% of crude protein content and 85% of total free amino acid content also decreased in the culture supernatant. The thraustochytrid therefore serves to upgrade the distillery by-product to one containing value-added lipids for functional foods as well as to regulate the environmental contamination. 相似文献

Electron energy-loss spectra were obtained from two double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWCNTs) with an energy resolution of 85 meV. The spectra showed multiple peak structures between 2 and 3 eV. However, peak positions are different for these two DWCNTs. The chiral indices of CNT layers of the two DWCNTs were determined to be (29,4)(in) (17,8)(out) and (46,6)(out) (26,21)(in), respectively, by comparing experimental electron diffraction patterns with simulated ones. The spectra were also compared with simulated joint density of states, which were derived from the determined chiral indices. It was confirmed that the peak structures in the spectra are due to interband transitions intrinsic for tubular structures of graphitic sheets. 相似文献

The effects of ferrous ions on chalcopyrite oxidation with ferric ions in 0.1 mol dm−3 sulfuric acid solutions were investigated by leaching experiments at 303 K in nitrogen. With high cupric ion concentrations, the chalcopyrite oxidation was enhanced by high concentrations of ferrous ions and copper extraction was mainly controlled by the concentration ratio of ferrous to ferric ions or the redox potential of solutions. Ferrous ions, however, suppressed the chalcopyrite oxidation when cupric ion concentrations were low. A reaction model, which involves chalcopyrite reduction to intermediate Cu2S by ferrous ions and oxidation of the Cu2S by ferric ions, was proposed to interpret the results. 相似文献

Three-dimensional (3-D) microwave monolithic integrated circuit (MMIC) technology, that incorporates slits in the ground metal, was applied to K-band low noise amplifier (LNA) and I/Q mixer to provide a low cost solution for various K-band receivers such as for P-to-P radio, WLAN, and UWB sensors. The LNA incorporates a quasicoplanar stub in the input-matching network, improving the noise figure by 1 dB. This low-noise amplifier (LNA) exhibits a noise figure of 2.5 dB with an associated gain of 16 dB and an area of 0.75/spl times/0.65 mm/sup 2/. The I/Q resistive mixer incorporates a broadside 3-dB coupler with a 22-/spl mu/m-wide slit in the ground metal beneath the coupled thin-film micro-strip (TFMS) lines (patent pending). The insertion loss of the 3 dB coupler is 0.75 dB. The I/Q mixer exhibits a conversion loss of less than 14 dB at 0.1-2.0GHz IF frequencies for 2-dBm local input power. In this paper, an optimization method of low‐order multivariable controllers for H∞ control is proposed. Starting from a low‐order stabilizing controller, our method gives a sequence of controllers for which the H∞ norm performance index is monotonically non‐increasing by tuning the numerator coefficient matrices of the low‐order controller. This controller class includes multivariable PID controllers. The proposed method is a descent method where the feasible direction is calculated by solving a linear matrix inequality that represents a sufficient condition for the H∞ criterion for each frequency.
