Rapid hardening of cement was achieved in the present study by adding a mechanically activated Al(OH)3 –Ca(OH)2 mixture to the starting cement paste. Among the dominant parameters for hardening were the mechanical treatment time for the Al(OH)3 powder and the Al(OH)3 /Ca(OH)2 ratio. The hardening mechanisms are discussed here in terms of the ionic concentration of the solution and the hydration products created when the Al(OH)3 –Ca(OH)2 mixture was added to water. Mechanical activation of the Al(OH)3 powder accelerated dissolution into an aqueous alkaline solution and induced the formation of calcium aluminate hydration products. Those hydration products increased the compressive strength of the cement paste at a very early stage of hardening. 相似文献

Density and melt index are two key properties in grading commercial polyolefin polymers. For quality assurance, these properties must be controlled as accurately as possible in the production plant. However, the lack of suitable in‐line sensors for these properties makes feedback quality control difficult. In this study, an in‐line density sensor using near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy is developed. The NIR spectra of molten polyethylene in flow are collected by a fiber‐optic device attached to a single screw extruder. By the ratio of the absorption intensity at 1170 nm to that at 1213 nm, the densities of 14 grades of polyethylene were successfully measured. In structural welded joints after long-term service at high temperature, fracture occurs mainly in the fine-grained heat affected zone (HAZ). Recently, the nucleation and growth of creep voids in the fine-grained HAZ of weldments, recognized as Type IV fracture, have become an important problem for low alloy ferritic heat resisting steels. In this paper, a new constitutive model was introduced to analyze the creep damage development in HAZ induced by void growth. This model is based on the equations of continuum damage mechanics (CDM) and combines a micromechanism-based method to account for the void growth process, which is different from the previous studies of creep damage. By coding a user-defined material subroutine (UMAT) in the FEA software ABAQUS, the proposed model was used to investigate the creep damage development in HAZ of a multi-material cross-weld specimen and a medium bore welded branched pipe where four different material properties: base material, coarse-grained HAZ, fine-grained HAZ, and weld material, were taken into account. 相似文献

To evaluate the performance of a computer model simulating runoff and sediment load in the upper region of the Changjiang (Yangtze River) basin over a relatively short time interval, including examining the applicability of the input precipitation data generated from global circulation models and satellite data, we used a spatially distributed model, HSPF with the International Satellite Land Surface Climatology Project (ISLSCP) precipitation data for 1987 and 1988 as input data. The Nash–Sutcliffe coefficient (R2) for 5-day average streamflow was 0.94 in the calibration period and 0.95 in the verification period for the whole upper region. Moreover, the model simulated the 5-day average streamflow well in each main tributary, as shown by R2 values of 0.46–0.96, except that it underestimated the peak flow rates during the flood season over 2 years by up to 71% in Tuojiang and 61% in Jialingjiang. The model simulated the 5-day concentrations of suspended solids (SS) fairly well in the headwaters and upper regions of the Jinshajiang, Yalongjiang, and Minjiang watersheds, as shown by R2 values of 0.31–0.65. In the other regions, however, the model underestimated the SS load by up to 72%, and rarely simulated the fluctuation of SS concentration in each river channel during the flood season. These errors led to the underestimation of sediment runoff volume from the whole upper region during the flood season, as shown by the ratio of the simulated sediment load to the observed data at Yichang: 0.69 in the calibration period and 0.68 in the verification period. The ISLSCP precipitation tended to be more frequent and less intense than the measured precipitation. This was probably the main reason why the HSPF did not perform well in all regions at all times. 相似文献

In previous studies, we reported the linear and nonlinear rheological properties of three‐component composites consisting of acrylic polymer (AP), epoxy resin (EP), and various SiO2 contents (AP/EP/SiO2) in the molten state. In this study, the dynamic mechanical properties of AP/EP/SiO2 composites with different particle sizes (0.5 and 8 μm) were investigated in the glass‐transition region. The EP consisted of three kinds of EP components. The α relaxation due to the glass transition shifted to a higher temperature with an increase in the volume fraction (?) for the AP/EP/SiO2 composites having a particle size of 0.5 μm, but the α relaxation scarcely shifted for the composite having a particle size of 8 μm as a general result. This result suggested that the SiO2 nanoparticles that were 0.5 μm in size adsorbed a lot of the low‐glass‐transition‐temperature (Tg) component because of their large surface area. The AP/SiO2 composites did not exhibit a shift in Tg; this indicated that the composite did not adsorb any component. The modulus in the glassy state (E′g) exhibited a very weak &phis; dependence for the AP/EP/SiO2 composites having particle sizes of 0.5 and 8 μm, although E′g of the AP/SiO2 composites increased with &phis;. The AP/EP/SiO2 composites exhibited a peculiar dynamic mechanical behavior, although the AP/SiO2 composites showed the behavior of general two‐component composites. Scanning electron microscopic observations indicated that some components in the EP were adsorbed on the surface of the SiO2 particles. High-rate deposition of hydrogenated amorphous silicon films using inductively coupled silane plasma

Inductively coupled plasma (ICP) generated at 13.56 MHz has been employed for high-rate deposition of device-quality hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H). It has been shown that an increase in the flow rate of a monosilane gas enhances the generation rate of deposition precursors, while the ion flux decreases and becomes saturated. The defect density reaches the minimum at a deposition rate of 2.3 nm/s. It has also been demonstrated that even at deposition rates around 4 nm/s, a-Si:H deposited at 150°C exhibits a subgap defect density lower than 6×1016 cm−3 after 12 h AM1 (100 mW/cm2) light soaking. 相似文献

The enantiopure of (R)‐(?) MαNPA was allowed to react with racemic 18‐(tert‐butyldimethylsilyloxy)‐5‐octadecayne‐7‐ol which was derived from dodecane‐1,12‐diol, yielding diastereomeric esters mixture. These racemic esters were easily separated by HPLC on silica‐gel. The absolute configurations of the first‐eluted diastereomeric esters from the separated esters were determined using 1H NMR anisotropy method. Analysis on 1H NMR spectra and HPLC elution time of the synthesized esters and those of MαNP ester derived from natural methyl‐12‐hydroxystealate showed that the absolute configuration of natural 12‐hydroxystearic acid was R form, and the enantiomeric excess was over 99%. 相似文献
