A straightforward method for determination of k-vector (wave normal) direction of a whistler mode signal observed onboard spacecraft consists in measuring three components of the wave magnetic field with their instantaneous amplitudes and phases. In that method, one needs to send by telemetry a total wave form of a signal, which requires much larger bandwidth than for sending amplitudes only. The present study develops another method of determination of the wave normal direction based only on the amplitude data; the method is checked using Omega signal observations by the Akebono satellite. It should, however, be noted that the sense of k-vector is not determined by this proposed method  相似文献

A single ??-structure thermoelectric (TE) module based on p-type NaCo2O4, n-type Mg2Si, and Ni electrode was fabricated by the spark plasma sintering (SPS) method. The NaCo2O4 powder was synthesized by using a metal?Ccitric acid complex decomposition method. Bulk Mg2Si prepared by melt quenching was ground into a powder and sieved to particle size of 75???m or less. To obtain a sintered body of NaCo2O4 or Mg2Si, the powder was sintered using SPS. Pressed Ni powder or mixed powder consisting of Ni and SrRuO3 powder was inserted between these materials and the Ni electrode in order to connect them, and electrical power was passed through the electrodes from the SPS equipment. The open-circuit voltage (V OC) values of a single module in which TE materials were connected to the Ni electrodes by using pressed Ni powder was 82.7?mV, and the maximum output current (I max) and maximum output power (P max) were 212.4?mA and 6.65?mW at ??T?=?470?K, respectively. On the other hand, V OC of a single module in which TE materials and an Ni electrode were connected with a mixed powder (Ni:SrRuO3?=?6:4 volume fraction) was 109?mV, and I max and P max were 4034?mA and 109?mW at ??T?=?500?K, respectively. These results indicate that the resistance at the interface between the TE materials and the Ni electrode can be decreased and the output power can be increased by application of a buffer layer consisting of Ni and SrRuO3.  相似文献

In all-optical gate switches that employ the cascaded second-order nonlinear effect in quasi-phase-matched (QPM) LiNbO/sub 3/ devices, walkoff between the fundamental and second harmonic pulses is very large. The authors experimentally show that crosstalk of the switch induced by such walkoff limits the switching speed, but that the switching speed can significantly be enhanced by walkoff compensation. Using a 20-mm-long QPM LiNbO/sub 3/ waveguide device, the authors switch one of twin pulses separated by 6.25 ps without crosstalk, showing the possibility of switching a 160-Gb/s signal.  相似文献

One cm wide monolithic laser diode arrays emitting around 810 nm with a 2 mm total aperture width have been characterised under CW conditions. CW operation up to 16 W has been achieved at a heatsink temperature of 70 degrees C. Several arrays have been lifetested at 10 W CW at a 20 degrees C heatsink temperature for a few thousand hours and have projected lifetimes of between 5000 and 17000 hours. The temperature dependence of the degradation rate was characterised, from which data an activation energy of 0.2 eV was obtained.<>  相似文献

A theoretical calculation is presented for the effect of homogeneous broadening of optical gain on lasing spectra of quantum-dot lasers. Based on a coupled set of rate equations considering both the size distribution of quantum dots and a series of longitudinal cavity modes, we show that dots with different energies start lasing independently due to their spatial localization when the gain spectrum is a delta-like function, and that the dot ensemble contributes to a narrow-line lasing collectively under large homogeneous broadening. The result explains quite excellently the experimental lasing spectra found in self-assembled InGaAs-GaAs quantum-dot lasers  相似文献

This paper reports the performances of several broad-band monolithic SiGe monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) suitable for phased-array radar applications. The amplitude and phase control MMIC designs are based on an optimized SiGe p-i-n diode offered by the IBM 5HP SiGe foundry process. Utilizing this diode, several control circuitries including a broad-band (1-20-GHz) monolithic single-pole double-throw switch, a five-port transfer switch, a 6-bit phase shifter, and a 5-bit attenuator, all operating over 7-11 GHz, are designed. Also, the design and performance of an SiGe heterojunction bipolar transistor variable-gain cascode amplifier that combines the functionality of an amplifier and an attenuator into one MMIC is described.  相似文献

Mercaptan and disulfide contents of modified cotton fabrics could be determined by application of Leach's polarographic method for wool, with minor modification. It was found that mercaptocellulose prepared by the reaction of tosyl cellulose and potassium thiolacetate followed by alkaline hydrolysis contained considerable amounts of disulfided in addition to mercaptain. Iodometric titration of mercaptocellulose gave a higher value of mercaptan than that obtained by the polarographic method. The mercaptan and disulfide contents and methylene blue uptake of the iodine-treated samples indicate that some of the mercaptan groups further undergo oxidation to acidic groups as a result of the iodine treatment. The spatial effect in the oxidation of mercapto groups in modified cotton is briefly discussed.  相似文献

A number of N,N′-diacylalkyldiamines were prepared from the reaction of acid chlorides with 1,8-diaminooctane and 1,12-diaminododecane and screened for anti-rust properties and antimicrobial activity in spent coolants of water-based cutting fluids. Aqueous solutions of N,N′-dihexanoyl-1,8-diaminooctane and N,N′-isobutyroyl-1,12-diaminododecane showed good anti-rust properties for water-based cutting fluids. Aqueous emulsions of N,N′-dibutyroyl-, dipentanoyl-, dihexanoyl- and dioctanoyl-1,12-diaminododecane showed good lubricities and antimicrobial activity for water-based cutting fluids.  相似文献

Fe3O4–BaTiO3 composite particles were successfully prepared by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis. A mixture of iron(III) nitrate, barium acetate and titanium tetrachloride aqueous solution were atomized into the mist, and the mist was dried and pyrolyzed in N2 (90%) and H2 (10%) atmosphere. Fe3O4–BaTiO3 composite particle was obtained between 900° and 950°C while the coexistence of FeO was detected at 1000°C. Transmission electron microscope observation revealed that the composite particle is consisted of nanocrystalline having primary particle size of 35 nm. Lattice parameter of the Fe3O4–BaTiO3 nanocomposite particle was 0.8404 nm that is larger than that of pure Fe3O4. Coercivity of the nanocomposite particle (390 Oe) was much larger than that of pure Fe3O4 (140 Oe). These results suggest that slight diffusion of Ba into Fe3O4 occurred.  相似文献
