Proton conductors are promising materials for clean energy, but most available materials exhibit sufficient conductivity only when chemically substituted to create oxygen vacancies, which often leads to difficulty in sample preparation and chemical instability. Recently, proton conductors based on hexagonal perovskite-related oxides have been attracting attention as they exhibit high proton conductivity even without the chemical substitutions. However, their conduction mechanism has been elusive so far. Herein, taking three types of oxides with different stacking patterns of oxygen-deficient layers (β-Ba2ScAlO5, α-Ba2Sc0.83Al1.17O5, and BaAl2O4) as examples, the roles of close-packed double-octahedral layers and oxygen-deficient layers in proton conduction are shown. It is found that “undoped” β-Ba2ScAlO5, which adopts a structure having alternating double-octahedral layer and double-tetrahedral layer with intrinsically oxygen-deficient hexagonal BaO (h') layer, shows high proton conductivity (≈10−3 S cm−1 above 300 °C), comparable to representative proton conductors. In contrast, the structurally related oxides α-Ba2Sc0.83Al1.17O5 and BaAl2O4 exhibit lower conductivity. Ab initio molecular dynamics simulations revealed that protons in β-Ba2ScAlO5 migrate through the double-octahedral layer, while the h layer plays the role of a “proton reservoir” that supplies proton carriers to the proton-conducting double-octahedral layers. The distinct roles of the two layers in proton conduction provide a strategy for developing high-performance proton conductors.  相似文献

Splitting of the mechanical neutral plane is a promising concept for foldable displays because it reduces the folding stress in each layer of the display. We verified the splitting concept experimentally and revealed a linear relation between the relative position of the neutral plane and the logarithm of the adhesive's elastic modulus. As the modulus decreased, the position of the neutral plane approached that of perfect splitting. On the basis of the neutral‐plane splitting concept, we developed 5.5‐inch full high‐definition foldable active matrix organic light‐emitting diode (AMOLED) displays, which endured 150 k inward folding cycles and 150 k outward folding cycles with folding radii of 3 and 5 mm, respectively. This study is expected to improve the flexibility of designing foldable AMOLED displays, enabling better balance of the portability versus practicality trade‐off in mobile displays.  相似文献

Diffusionless tetragonal ( t' )  cubic ( c' ) phase transformation in 65-mol%-CeO2-ZrO2 was investigated around the c'-t' equilibrium temperature T0 c'-t' using powder X-ray diffraction, where c' was defined as a tetragonal or cubic phase with an axial ratio of unity. The {400} peak profile of t' -ZrO2 broadened at 860° and 900°C. This indicated that the t' -ZrO2 transformed partially into c' -ZrO2. The {400} peak profile of c' -ZrO2 also broadened at 860° and 900°C, which indicated that the c' -ZrO2 partially transformed to t' -ZrO2. The finish point of t'→c' transformation Tft'c' was investigated by annealing the t' -ZrO2 containing 30–65 mol% CeO2 at various temperatures. The T'ft'→c' line existed in the vicinity of the cubic solubility limit within the t + c two-phase region. This Tft'→c' location, which should have been located in the vicinity of T0c'-t' could not be explained by a simple regular solution model. However, it was described successfully by a thermodynamic model based on Landau's phenomenologic theory.  相似文献

Measurements were made of 131I, 137Cs, 134Cs and 103Ru in environmental samples collected from Ibaraki-Prefecture, Japan, after the Chernobyl accident. The highest values of 131I obtained in May 1986 were 98 Bq l-1 (2.7 nCi l-1) for rain water (collected at the beginning of the rainfall), 400 Bq kg-1 (11 nCi kg-1) for pine needles (wet), 160 Bq kg-1 (4.3 nCi kg-1) for vegetables (wet) and 52 Bq kg-1 (1.4 nCi kg-1) for seaweed (wet). Most of the radioiodine in rain water was present as IO3- and I-. The proportion of IO3- in fresh rain water was higher than that of I-, but the IO3- was converted to I- during storage. About 10% of 131I was removed from leaf vegetables by washing, and about 70% by boiling.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the use of [18F]fluorodeoxyglucose and positron emission tomography (FDG PET) for quantitative evaluation of glucose metabolism in skeletal muscle during walking. Ten young males underwent FDG PET twice during walks, which were done with or without an automated stride assistance system (SAS). Walk ratios were significantly increased by the SAS in seven subjects. Regional glucose metabolism in muscles between the crista iliaca and the planta was clearly visualized in all ten subjects. Glucose utilization increased significantly in the tibialis posterior and medial gastrocnemius muscles of the seven subjects in whom walk ratios were increased by the SAS. FDG PET is useful for analysis of muscle activity during exercise and rehabilitation.  相似文献

5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA)-induced protoporphyrin IX (PpIX) fluorescence is widely used for the intraoperative detection of malignant tumors. However, the fluorescence emission profiles of the accompanying necrotic regions of these tumors have yet to be determined. To address this, we performed fluorescence and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analyses of necrotic tissues of squamous cancer after 5-ALA administration. In resected human lymph nodes of metastatic squamous cell carcinoma, we found a fluorescence peak at approximately 620 nm in necrotic lesions, which was distinct from the PpIX fluorescence peak at 635 nm for viable cancer lesions. Necrotic lesions obtained from a subcutaneous xenograft model of human B88 oral squamous cancer also emitted the characteristic fluorescence peak at 620 nm after light irradiation: the fluorescence intensity ratio (620 nm/635 nm) increased with the energy of the irradiation light. HPLC analysis revealed a high content ratio of uroporphyrin I (UPI)/total porphyrins in the necrotic cores of murine tumors, indicating that UPI is responsible for the 620 nm peak. UPI accumulation in necrotic tissues after 5-ALA administration was possibly due to the failure of the heme biosynthetic pathway. Taken together, fluorescence imaging of UPI after 5-ALA administration may be applicable for the evaluation of tumor necrosis.  相似文献

The fate of coliphage in a wastewater treatment plant in the central part of Japan was investigated from March to December 2001. A relative abundance of coliphage, 1000-10,000 PFU/ml determined with three different Escherichia coli strains, was detected in the influent. But, no remarkable seasonal change in the phage concentration in the influent was observed during the ten-month test period. Almost ten times higher coliphage concentration was detected by the F+ E. coli strain than by the other two F- strains. The RNA phage was more stable than the DNA phage against aerobic treatment using activated sludge. Most of the phages in the influent and primary settling tank were detected as suspended forms. Anaerobic-aerobic treatment enhanced adsorption of the phage by the solid particles. Almost no phage was detected in the effluent. Aerobic treatment using activated sludge and/or the addition of flocculants such as PAC was effective for the removal of coliphage, an index of enteric viral pollution.  相似文献

We have conducted laser processing of ultrahard nano-polycrystalline and single crystalline diamonds (NPD, SCD, respectively) using nano-pulsed near-ultraviolet laser, and the machining properties were compared through microstructural examinations by SEM, TEM and Raman spectroscopy. The cut depth of the laser-cut grooves was observed to be deeper for the NPD than for the SCD. This is probably due to the lower thermal conductivity feature of NPD, which provides higher absorption efficiency of the laser energy and decreases the laser ablation threshold. TEM cross-section observation showed that the processed grooves in the both types of diamonds are covered with identical laser-modified layers (~ 1 µm thick) composed of roughly oriented nanocrystalline graphite. A marked difference was observed between the laser-processed surfaces of NPD and SCD: in the former the diamond–graphite interface is almost linear and undamaged, whereas in the latter the boundary is slightly folded and significantly distorted. These textural features suggest that different laser-machining processes are involved between NPD and SCD in the microscopic scale. Our results demonstrate that pulsed laser can be used even more effectively for the fabrication of nano-polycrystalline diamond than the case for single crystal diamond.  相似文献
