It has been reported that solidification of the Al2O3–YAG equilibrium eutectic structure follows melting of the Al2O3–YAP metastable eutectic structure. Since the exothermic heat due to solidification was consumed by the endothermic heat due to melting, a fine and uniform eutectic structure was obtained. However, the composition of the Al2O3–YAG eutectic structure is restricted to the metastable eutectic composition. In this paper, Al2O3–YAG eutectic compacts with an off-metastable eutectic composition were prepared by the addition of Al2O3 particles to Al2O3–YAP eutectic particles with diameters less than 20 μm. In compositions ranging from 18.5 mol%Y2O3 to 13.5 mol%Y2O3, dense Al2O3–YAG eutectic compacts were formed without any Al2O3 segregation. The flexural strength and the fracture toughness remained almost unchanged with the increase in the Al2O3 phase. The addition of Al2O3 particles to the Al2O3–YAP eutectic particles enabled the matrix phase to change from the YAG phase to the Al2O3 phase.  相似文献

The 2005 Fukuoka-ken Seiho-oki earthquake caused damage to structures due to liquefaction, slope failure and strong shaking in Fukuoka City. One of the authors had conducted microzonation for liquefaction, slope failure and strong shaking about 17 years before the earthquake. After the earthquake, the authors compared the zoning map with the actual damage. The results showed that liquefied sites coincided fairly well with predicted zones in the reclaimed lands. However, they were slightly different in a big sand spit named Uminonakamichi. Failure occurred at several slopes inside the predicted areas, while damage to buildings occurred due to strong shaking along the Kego Fault. The damaged area was slightly different from the predicted area. Furthermore, a liquefaction analysis was conducted and the results of this analysis were compared with the results of microzonation in 1988. In this paper, the authors discuss the validity of microzonation based on this comparison.  相似文献

Inclusions contributing to acicular ferrite nucleation were investigated from a crystallographic point of view in low carbon low alloy steelweld metals. The samples from electro slag welding (ESW) and submerged arc welding (SAW) deposits with various cooling rates were prepared in this study. In those samples, intragranular acicular ferrite formation was observed from inclusions. The inclusions contributing to acicular ferrite formation were of multi-phase type consisting of amorphous phase, spinel type and MnS. They were surrounded by a Ti-enriched layer. It was confirmed by selected area diffraction patterns and energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometer analyses that the Ti-enriched layer was TiO. The acicular ferrite had a Baker–Nutting orientation relationship with the TiO layer on the inclusion surface. The misfit was 3.0% at the interface between the acicular ferrite and TiO. Therefore, it is considered that TiO on the inclusion surface contributes to the heterogeneous nucleation of acicular ferrite by small lattice misfit. However, themorphologies of ferrite growth which nucleated from inclusions were different in both samples. Whereas the growth of ferrites nucleated from TiO was enough in ESW, the size of nucleated ferrite in SAW was a few hundred millimetres in size. In the early stage of nucleation from TiO, ferrite had small deviation from Kurdjumov–Sachs orientation relationship (K–S relationship) in both ESW and SAW. However, there was a difference in the growth stage of ferrite. The ferrite orientations were gradually changed to fit to the K–S relationship in ESW. On the other hand, the nucleated ferrite in SAW stopped growing and the newly nucleated ferrite which had K–S relationship prior to austenite was formed adjacently because of large super cooling due to small heat input.  相似文献

We report molecular changes in leaves of rice plants (Oryza sativa L. - reference crop plant and grass model) exposed to ultra low-dose ionizing radiation, first using contaminated soil from the exclusion zone around Chernobyl reactor site. Results revealed induction of stress-related marker genes (Northern blot) and secondary metabolites (LC-MS/MS) in irradiated leaf segments over appropriate control. Second, employing the same in vitro model system, we replicated results of the first experiment using in-house fabricated sources of ultra low-dose gamma (γ) rays and selected marker genes by RT-PCR. Results suggest the usefulness of the rice model in studying ultra low-dose radiation response/s.  相似文献

Independent distributed power generation using small wind turbines is becoming more widespread as wind power generation increases. Installation of small wind turbines in densely populated urban areas is not only useful from the viewpoint of extracting wind power sources in weak‐wind areas but also for making renewable energy easier to access when power supplies are closer to consumers. It is from this point of view that the authors proposed “urban wind power generation” using a collective system with a number of small vertical wind turbines, and have developed a suitable generator for low‐speed vertical wind turbines such as a Savonius windmill. Based on a standard coreless generator, the proposed generator is designed to make the direction of the magnetic flux radial in order to install the magnets and coils on the outer end of the generator. The change of magnet composition and flux direction maximizes the speed of the flux change and output voltage within a limited space. With the above configuration, the power of the proposed generator is independent of the diameter. In this report, the authors describe and evaluate the fundamental performance of a prototype of the proposed generator. Based on the experiments, a maximum output power of 283 W was obtained. The obtained starting torque is small enough to begin rotation under weak wind conditions of no more than 1 m/s. Therefore, it is clear that the proposed “radial” coreless generator is suitable for self‐starting and producing high power at low wind speed. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new I-V model to quantitatively represent stress-induced leakage current (SILC) is presented and compared with the experimental I-V characteristics. The trap-assisted tunneling model is modified so as to include the energy relaxation of tunneling electrons, which has been experimentally verified by applying the carrier separation technique to MOSFETs with the SILC component. The energy relaxation is treated in the new model as the change in the energy level of traps before and after the capture of electrons during two-step tunneling. It is demonstrated that this model successfully represents the experimental I-V characteristics of the SILC component and, particularly, the low apparent barrier height in the Fowler-Nordheim (FN) plot of the SILC component. The calculated low barrier height is attributed to the dominance of direct tunneling mechanism on both tunneling into traps and out of traps. The impact of the energy relaxation during tunneling, used in the present model, on the I-V characteristics is discussed in terms of the trap distribution inside the gate oxide, compared with conventional elastic tunneling model  相似文献

The 5XXX series of non-heat-treatable aluminium alloys, widely used in modern industry, have the peculiarity that an area near the welding bead, which reaches a temperature higher than 230°C, suffers an annealing effect that causes a considerable decrease in yield strength. The present paper deals with the three-dimensional modelling, using general-use finite element software, of a classic experiment conducted in the past by Masubushi, using the GMAW process on aluminium alloy 5052 H32, in order to determine the thermal history, and transient and residual strain and stress. Finally, a method for modelling applicable to this material type is proposed, where the model is divided into three zones; one near the weld with the properties of aluminium in annealed state, another further away with the base metal properties, and a transitional zone with intermediate properties.  相似文献

Statistical algorithm for nonuniformity correction in focal-plane arrays.   总被引:12,自引:0,他引:12  
A statistical algorithm has been developed to compensate for the fixed-pattern noise associated with spatial nonuniformity and temporal drift in the response of focal-plane array infrared imaging systems. The algorithm uses initial scene data to generate initial estimates of the gain, the offset, and the variance of the additive electronic noise of each detector element. The algorithm then updates these parameters by use of subsequent frames and uses the updated parameters to restore the true image by use of a least-mean-square error finite-impulse-response filter. The algorithm is applied to infrared data, and the restored images compare favorably with those restored by use of a multiple-point calibration technique.  相似文献

Offering the advantages of lightweight and high specific strength, magnesium (Mg) alloys are extensively used in the manufacture of automotive parts and light-gauge box-type products, such as laptop computers, mobile phones, etc, which are expected to see lighter-weight applications in future. Presently available Mg alloy products, however, are manufactured by molten or semi-molten working in diecasting or thixomoulding processes, with applications technology currently at the development stage. Suitable techniques for the further development of Mg alloy manufacturing technology include plastic working of wrought alloys and assembly of products with complex shapes by welding. This study focuses on TIG welding as a widely practised and convenient technique for assembly of general metal products. The article examines the basic welding characteristics of an Mg alloy equivalent to AZ31 as an Mg alloy in widespread practical use together with the deformation properties of the proposed alloy. A suitable welding procedure is then investigated. Also discussed is an assembly method for products in consideration of the working and welding characteristics of the proposed alloy.  相似文献
