ABSTRACT

The measurement of acoustic emission (AE) signals during injection molding of polypropylene with new and damaged mold is presented. The damaged injection mold was fitted with a steel insert with cracks induced by laser surface heat treatment. Two resonant piezoelectric AE sensors were attached to the mold via AE waveguides. To improve the mold integrity prediction with smaller defects, AE signal frequency characteristics and a measure of AE signal amplitude probability distribution are implemented. A 5-dimensional feature vector with real-valued explanatory variables is proposed, providing the defining points in an appropriate multidimensional space to characterize the state of injection molding tool. Feature vectors are classified with neural network pattern recognition. The results confirm that presented AE technique offers characterizing the integrity of molds also with resonant sensors.  相似文献

Abstract

We have investigated the spectrum of light emitted by a single atom interacting with a single mode of the radiation field in an ideal cavity filled with a Kerr-like medium. It is shown that owing to the Kerr-like nonlinearity in the system the spectrum of the emitted light exhibits a single-peaked structure for sufficiently high intensities of the initial coherent field instead of the triplet structure in the case of the standard Jaynes-Cummings model.  相似文献

Density-driven groundwater flow is a complicated nonlinear problem in groundwater hydraulics. The local boundary integral method is a promising meshless scheme that is used for solving several difficult problems in different areas. This method applies the boundary integral equations to the local domain around every node. The nodes can be randomly distributed in the domain and on the global boundary. Therefore, this method is characterised as meshless. The unknown potentials and concentrations in all of the nodes are approximated by interpolation to obtain a system of linear equations. Solving this system of equations leads to the numerical solution for the main problem. In this paper, a combination of the radial basis function interpolation and the local boundary element method is used to solve groundwater flow problem combined with the transport of pollution, which also influences the density of groundwater.  相似文献

Dutkiewicz, a fascinating and in some ways tragic character, has had no luck with biographers. Apart from one article in a photographic monthly 1 Polish Biographical Dictionary, Cracow (1948), Vol. 6, pp. 15-16. This is in fact a résumé of an article by Aleksander Karoli, ‘In memoriam of Meletius Dutkiewicz’, published in a photographic monthly of Warsaw, Swiat?o (Light), No. 10 (1899), pp. 448-452. , and a brief entry in the Polish Biographical Dictionary, no published information concerning him has been traced. However, much that is of interest can be gleaned from surviving correspondence between the eminent Polish photographers Karol Beyer, Joseph Kordysz and Michal Greim 2 Only a part of this correspondence was published by Juliusz Garztecki in his book on Michal Greim Mistrz zapominiany (Forgotten Master), Wydawnictwo Literackie, Cracow (1972). .  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the possibility of using acrylated hyperbranched polyesters (HBP) as UV curable component in dual curing automotive applications. Dual curing is one of possible ways to obtain fast curing, scratch resistant coatings for use in OEM and car refinish applications. Electrochemical gold deposition from sulfite solutions was studied by means of voltammetry, EIS and EQCM. A gold film electrode was used for polyaniline layer formation by electrochemical oxidation of aniline. The standard electrochemical reduction potential of the reaction [Au(SO3)2]3− + e = Au + 2 SO32− was determined, and is equal to 0.116 V (vs. NHE). Both solution stirring and temperature increase accelerate the electrochemical reduction of gold, when the electrode potential is below −0.55 V. When the potential is above −0.55 V the electrochemical reduction proceeds via passive layer formation. Our study suggests that the passive layer consists of chemically adsorbed sulfite ions and sulfur. The gold film deposited from sulfite solution is a high quality substrate suitable for conducting polymer layer formation. This technique, where a polymer layer electrode is prepared by thin gold film deposition onto a metal surface and by subsequent polymer layer formation, can be applied in sensor research and technology.  相似文献

The aim of this study is to examine the growth inhibitory effects of methanolic leaf and fruit extracts of L. vulgare on HCT-116 cells over different time periods and their synergistic effect with a Pd(apox) complex. The antiproliferative activity of plant extracts alone or in combination with the Pd(apox) complex was determined using MTT cell viability assay, where the IC(50) value was used as a parameter of cytotoxicity. Results show that antiproliferative effects of L. vulgare extracts increase with extension of exposure time, with decreasing IC(50) values, except for 72 h where the IC(50) values for methanolic leaf extract were lower than for the fruit extract. The Pd(apox) complex alone had a weak antiproliferative effect, but combination with L. vulgare extracts caused stronger effects with lower IC(50) values than with L. vulgare extracts alone. The type of cell death was explored by fluorescence microscopy using the acridin orange/ethidium bromide method. Treatments with plant extracts caused typical apoptotic morphological changes in HCT-116 cells and co-treatments with Pd(apox) complex caused higher levels of apoptotic cells than treatment with plant extracts alone. The results indicate that L. vulgare is a considerable source of natural bioactive substances with antiproliferative activity on HCT-116 cells and which have a substantial synergistic effect with the Pd(apox) complex.  相似文献

Mass appearances of the toxic dinoflagellate genus Ostreopsis are known to cause dangerous respiratory symptoms in humans exposed to aerosols. The outbreaks can appear in shallow marine waters of temperate regions around the globe. We followed a massive bloom event on a public beach on the northern Adriatic coast near Rovinj, Croatia. We identified the responsible species and the produced toxins as well as the dynamics of the event with respect to environmental conditions. Ostreopsis cf. ovata appeared in masses from September through October 2010 on a public beach near Rovinj, Croatia but stayed undetected by public health organizations. Respiratory symptoms were observed whenever humans were exposed to substrate samples containing large numbers of Ostreopsis cells. During the mass abundance of O. cf. ovata also exposure to the aerosols on the beach evoked respiratory symptoms in humans. Our measurements showed high cell abundances and high toxin contents with a stable relative contribution of putative Palytoxin and Ovatoxins a-e. Artificial beach structures proved to dramatically reduce settling of the observed Ostreopsis biofilm. Blooms like those reported herein have a high potential to happen undetected with a high potential of affecting the health of coastal human populations. Increased monitoring efforts are therefore required to understand the ecology and toxicology of those bloom events and reduce their negative impact on coastal populations.  相似文献

The possibility of sorption of technetium‐99 in the form of pertechnetate anion (TcO4?) and the sorption kinetics for removing TcO4? from aqueous solution by chelating polymers based on glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) were investigated. Two samples of macroporous crosslinked poly(glycidyl methacrylate‐co‐ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) (PGME), with different amount of the crosslinker (ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, EGDMA), were synthesized by suspension copolymerization and functionalized with diethylene triamine (deta). We propose that nonspecific sorption of pertechnetate anion via electrostatic interactions takes place at the protonated amino groups of macroporous crosslinked copolymer. The results of batch experiments performed at pH 1–14 showed fast sorption kinetics for removing TcO4? by amino‐functionalized PGME‐deta in a wide range of pH, that is, from 1.0 to 9.0. Almost complete removal of TcO4? (91–98%) was reached within 180 min in the stated pH range (1.0–9.0), with the sorption half‐times of under 25 min. The partitioning coefficients of linear adsorption isotherms, with 180‐min equilibrium time, reach the high values of 2130 mL g?1 and 1698 mL g?1 for the two samples of synthesized PGME‐deta. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
