Motivated by a planned automated cargo transportation network, we consider transportation problems in which the finite capacity of resources (such as vehicles, docks, parking places) has to be taken into account. For such problems, it is often even difficult to construct a good feasible solution. We present a flexible modeling methodology which allows to construct, evaluate, and improve feasible solutions. This paper addresses the problem of side information extraction for distributed coding of videos captured by a camera moving in a 3-D static environment. Examples of targeted applications are augmented reality, remote-controlled robots operating in hazardous environments, or remote exploration by drones. It explores the benefits of the structure-from-motion paradigm for distributed coding of this type of video content. Two interpolation methods constrained by the scene geometry, based either on block matching along epipolar lines or on 3-D mesh fitting, are first developed. These techniques are based on a robust algorithm for sub-pel matching of feature points, which leads to semi-dense correspondences between key frames. However, their rate-distortion (RD) performances are limited by misalignments between the side information and the actual Wyner-Ziv (WZ) frames due to the assumption of linear motion between key frames. To cope with this problem, two feature point tracking techniques are introduced, which recover the camera parameters of the WZ frames. A first technique, in which the frames remain encoded separately, performs tracking at the decoder and leads to significant RD performance gains. A second technique further improves the RD performances by allowing a limited tracking at the encoder. As an additional benefit, statistics on tracks allow the encoder to adapt the key frame frequency to the video motion content.  相似文献

X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) was used to monitor the chemical changes resulting from irradiation (> 295 nm) in air of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT), polymer which is a good candidate for photovoltaic applications. The formation of carbonyl moieties and the stepwise oxidation of sulphur atoms were characterised. The oxidation and the cleavage of the hexyl side-chain was monitored. It is also shown that sulfur was first converted into sulfoxides, then into sulfones and finally into sulfinate esters. The formation of these ultimate degradation products provoked a disruption of π-conjugation in P3HT, leading to diminished visible absorbance. Based on these results, a mechanism of P3HT photooxidation is proposed. Comparison of XPS data with previously reported infrared and UV-visible spectral analysis showed that the information provided by these techniques is completely consistent.  相似文献

Carbon fiber/epoxy laminates containing three different types of rubber modifiers, separately and in combination, were developed for testing in a cryogenic environment. Preformed rubber particles, core shell rubber, and solid carboxyl‐functionalized rubber were chosen as additives to a model prepreg matrix to control the placement of the rubber within the resulting laminates. Cryogenic microcracking and mode I and II fracture toughness and interlaminar shear strength experiments were performed. Scanning electron microscopy was used to observe fracture surfaces of the rubber‐modified laminates. Fracture toughness properties were improved while the ILSS decreased because of the presence of these rubber modifiers. It was observed that the presence of these modifiers significantly reduced the microcrack density of the laminates exposed to cryogenic cycling, and in the case of one, even eliminated microcracking entirely. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We report the structural changes inside germania glass induced by femtosecond laser pulses. Inspection by polarization microscopy and secondary electron microscopy indicate that the periodic nanostructures consist of oxygen defects such as ODCs (oxygen deficient centers) and NBOHCs (nonbridging oxygen hole centers) for laser pulse energy less than 0.2 μJ. However, the glass network was dissociated and O2 molecules were generated for laser pulse energy greater than 0.4 μJ. Two different structural changes, form‐birefringence and dissociation, were induced in GeO2 glass, depending on the laser pulse energy. The form‐birefringence exhibited by the nanogratings in GeO2 glass is larger than that in SiO2 glass for pulse energy less than 0.2 μJ, as the density of nanovoids enclosed by ODCs in GeO2 glass is higher than that in SiO2 glass. Arrhenius plots of the phase retardation caused by the nanogratings in GeO2 and SiO2 indicate that the oxygen defects are relaxed at a temperature 100°C above the glass‐transition temperature.  相似文献

We investigate the potential of fabricating thermally stable refractive index contrasts using femtosecond (fs) near-infrared (IR) radiation in aluminosilicate glasses. A set of pure SiO2-Al2O3 glasses are manufactured, characterized (density and Raman), and investigated after being irradiated by fs laser within the Type II regime. The formation of nanogratings is identified and studied using quantitative birefringence measurements. Their thermal stability is then investigated through 30 minutes step isochronal annealing (up to 1250°C). For both SiO2 and 50SiO2-50Al2O3 compositions, the normalized birefringence does not decrease when tested up to 1100°C, while for the 4,6 mol% GeO2-SiO2 erased for 20% at 1000°C.  相似文献

This paper presents a search engine architecture, RETIN, aiming at retrieving complex categories in large image databases. For indexing, a scheme based on a two-step quantization process is presented to compute visual codebooks. The similarity between images is represented in a kernel framework. Such a similarity is combined with online learning strategies motivated by recent machine-learning developments such as active learning. Additionally, an offline supervised learning is embedded in the kernel framework, offering a real opportunity to learn semantic categories. Experiments with real scenario carried out from the Corel Photo database demonstrate the efficiency and the relevance of the RETIN strategy and its outstanding performances in comparison to up-to-date strategies.  相似文献
