Real‐time programmers have to deal with the problem of relating timing constraints associated with source code to sequences of machine instructions. This paper describes an environment to assist users in the specification and analysis of timing constraints. A timing analyzer predicts the best and worst case bounds for these constrained portions of code. A user interface for this timing analyzer was developed to depict whether these constraints were violated or met. A user is allowed to specify timing constraints within the source code of a C program. The user interface also provides three different methods for interactively selecting portions of programs. After each selection the corresponding bounded times, source code lines, and machine instructions are automatically displayed. Users are prevented from only selecting portions of the program for which timing bounds cannot be obtained. In addition, a technique is presented that allows the timing analysis to scale efficiently with complex functions and loops. The result is a user‐friendly environment that supports the user specification and analysis of timing constraints at a high (source code) level and retains the accuracy of low (machine code) level analysis. Blocking or reducing water production from oil wells is a serious problem in oil industry. Two types of polymers, namely, polyacrylamide (PAA) and polysaccharides (xanthan) have been investigated in this paper. The viscosity of both polymer solutions was first evaluated at different salinities, shear rates and concentrations. Afterwards, the solutions were injected into core samples to examine the adsorption on the rock surface by calculating the resistance factor as well as the residual resistance factor. Also, the effect of the injection rate of the polymer solutions has been studied. The results show that xanthan solution is tolerant of high salinity (20 %), while PAA solution is very sensitive to salt. Both polymer solutions show a pseudoplastic flow as a function of the shear rate. The core sample experiments show that both polymer solutions suffer a reduction in the adsorption rate with salinity increase. However, xanthan shows acceptable values even with a salinity up to 20 % and a temperature of 60 °C. Therefore, xanthan can be recommended to shut off water in high salinity and high temperature reservoirs. It was also found that the lower the injection rate the higher the adsorption on the rock surface.  相似文献

A two‐disc machine was used to study crack propagation rate in polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) subjected to cyclic loading created by a rolling contact. An initial crack of known length was created in PMMA disc, and its growth under known load conditions continuously monitored. It appears that after initial rapid crack growth there is a period of noticeable reduction in the crack growth rate. Forty years ago, Garvie and his Australian co-workers reported that the stress-induced transformation of metastable tetragonal zirconia grains to the monoclinic symmetry could give rise to a powerful toughening mechanism. Their results even led them to consider zirconia systems as analogues of certain steels. This seminal paper generated extraordinary excitement in the ceramic community and it is still the subject of extensive research. Transformation toughening is widely used in zirconia materials and results in an increase in strength and toughness when compared to nontransformable ceramics, but the implementation into strong, tough, and sufficiently stable materials has not been fully reached. Zirconia ceramics generally fail at low strains with a much larger scatter in the strength values than metals and require statistical approaches to failure. Here we describe in detail the mechanical behavior laws of ceria-doped zirconia composites exhibiting a high degree of stress-induced transformation. They present, to some extent, mechanical behavior analogous to a metal, displaying, (a) significant amount of transformation-induced plasticity without damage, (b) very high flaw tolerance and (c) almost no dispersion in strength data. They potentially open new application avenues in situations where the advantages of ceramics were dampened by their brittle failure behavior. In particular, the consequences of such behavior for dental implants and additive-manufactured structures are highlighted.  相似文献

A 1D test-solver was developed in recent years for modeling of two phase bubbly flows in pipe geometry. The solver considers a number of bubble classes and calculates bubble-size resolved void fraction profiles in the radial direction. A successful implementation was achieved regarding bubble forces models (non-drag forces). Discrepancies appeared when coalescence and breakup rates were significant. These rates depend upon local turbulence quantities, which are possible reason for discrepancies. Originally the test-solver is equipped by Sato model (Sato, Y., Sadatomi, M., Sekoguchi, K., 1981. Momentum and heat transfer in two-phase bubble flow. I. International Journal Multiphase Flow 7, 167–177 .) which accounts for turbulence via shear- and bubble-induced viscosities calculated out of empirical correlations. One equation for the turbulent kinetic energy was solved, while the dissipation rate was calculated out of a correlation. In order to improve calculation of the local turbulence parameters, a two-phase k turbulence model was adopted instead. The account for the bubble-induced turbulence was made via a source term taken out of literature. Comparisons between new and old turbulence modeling against experimental data showed better agreement for the new model. The experiments covered a wide range of water and air superficial velocities for upward bubbly flow in two pipe's diameters: 50 and 200 mm. The main feature of the new model is providing more reliable values of turbulence parameters for application in coalescence and breakup models. A comparison with CFX 5.7 calculations in a 50 mm pipe showed better calculation results when the source term was considered in the k equations. An implementation into CFX is planned.  相似文献

Melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH) is a 19aa cyclic peptide exclusively expressed in the lateral hypothalamic area, which is an area of the brain involved in a large number of physiological functions and vital processes such as nutrient sensing, food intake, sleep-wake arousal, memory formation, and reproduction. However, the role of the lateral hypothalamic area in metabolic regulation stands out as the most relevant function. MCH regulates energy balance and glucose homeostasis by controlling food intake and peripheral lipid metabolism, energy expenditure, locomotor activity and brown adipose tissue thermogenesis. However, the MCH control of energy balance is a complex mechanism that involves the interaction of several neuroendocrine systems. The aim of the present work is to describe the current knowledge of the crosstalk of MCH with different endocrine factors. We also provide our view about the possible use of melanin-concentrating hormone receptor antagonists for the treatment of metabolic complications. In light of the data provided here and based on its actions and function, we believe that the MCH system emerges as an important target for the treatment of obesity and its comorbidities.  相似文献

A glycidyl azide polymer with pendent N, N‐diethyl dithiocarbamate groups (GAP‐DDC) was prepared by the reaction of poly(epichlorohydrin) (PECH) with pendent N, N‐diethyl dithiocarbamate groups (PECH‐DDC) and sodium azide (NaN3) in dimethylformamide (DMF). It was then used as a macro‐photoinitiator for the graft polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA). Photopolymerization was carried out in a photochemical reactor at a wavelength greater than 300 nm. Conversion was determined gravimetrically and first‐order time conversion plot for the polymerization system showed linear increase with the polymerization time indicating that polymerization proceed in controlled fashion. The molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) was in the range of 1.4–1.6 during polymerization. The formation of poly(methyl methacrylate‐g‐glycidyl azide) (PMMA‐g‐GAP) graft copolymer was characterized by gel permeation chromatography, FT‐IR spectroscopy, Thermogravimetric analysis, and differential scanning calorimetry. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
