Many works have tackled on the problem of throughput and fairness optimization in cellular cooperative relaying systems. Considering firstly a two-user relay broadcast channel, we design a scheme based on superposition coding (SC) which maximizes the achievable sum-rate under a proportional fairness constraint. Unlike most relaying schemes where users are allocated orthogonally, our scheme serves the two users simultaneously on the same time-frequency resource unit by superposing their messages into three SC layers. The optimal power allocation parameters of each SC layer are derived by analysis. Next, we consider the general multi-user case in a cellular relay system, for which we design resource allocation algorithms based on proportional fair scheduling exploiting the proposed SC-based scheme. Numerical results show that the proposed algorithms allowing simultaneous user allocation outperform conventional schedulers based on orthogonal user allocation, both in terms of throughput and proportional fairness. These results indicate promising new directions for the design of future radio resource allocation and scheduling algorithms.  相似文献

We report herein on the effects of all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) on two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) cultures of human trabecular meshwork (HTM) cells that were treated with transforming growth factor β2 (TGF-β2). In the presence of 5 ng/mL TGF-β2, the effects of ATRA on the following were observed: (1) the barrier function of the 2D HTM monolayers, as determined by trans-endothelial electrical resistance (TEER) and fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) dextran permeability measurements; (2) a Seahorse cellular bio-metabolism analysis; (3) physical properties, including the size and stiffness, of 3D spheroids; (4) the gene expression of extracellular matrix (ECM) molecules, ECM modulators including tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases (TIMPs), matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), tight junction (TJ)-related molecules, and endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-stress-related factors. ATRA significantly inhibited the TGF-β2-induced increase in the TEER values and FITC dextran permeability of the 2D monolayers, while an ATRA monotreatment induced similar effects as TGF-β2. A real-time metabolic analysis revealed that ATRA significantly inhibited the TGF-β2-induced shift in metabolic reserve from mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation to glycolysis in 2D HTM cells, whereas ATRA alone did not induce significant metabolic changes. In contrast, ATRA induced the formation of substantially downsized and softer 3D spheroids in the absence and presence of TGF-β2. The different effects induced by ATRA toward 2D and 3D HTM cells were also supported by the qPCR analysis of several proteins as above. The findings reported here indicate that ATRA may induce synergistic and beneficial effects on TGF-β2-treated 2D- and 3D-cultured HTM cells; those effects varied significantly between the 2D and 3D cultures.  相似文献

Hydroxygenkwanin, a flavonoid isolated from the leaves of the Daphne genkwa plant, is known to have pharmacological properties; however, its modulatory effect on multidrug resistance, which is (MDR) mediated by ATP-binding cassette (ABC) drug transporters, has not been investigated. In this study, we examine the interaction between hydroxygenkwanin, ABCB1, and ABCG2, which are two of the most well-characterized ABC transporters known to contribute to clinical MDR in cancer patients. Hydroxygenkwanin is not an efflux substrate of either ABCB1 or ABCG2. We discovered that, in a concentration-dependent manner, hydroxygenkwanin significantly reverses ABCG2-mediated resistance to multiple cytotoxic anticancer drugs in ABCG2-overexpressing multidrug-resistant cancer cells. Although it inhibited the drug transport function of ABCG2, it had no significant effect on the protein expression of this transporter in cancer cells. Experimental data showing that hydroxygenkwanin stimulates the ATPase activity of ABCG2, and in silico docking analysis of hydroxygenkwanin binding to the inward-open conformation of human ABCG2, further indicate that hydroxygenkwanin sensitizes ABCG2-overexpressing cancer cells by binding to the substrate-binding pocket of ABCG2 and attenuating the transport function of ABCG2. This study demonstrates the potential use of hydroxygenkwanin as an effective inhibitor of ABCG2 in drug combination therapy trials for patients with tumors expressing higher levels of ABCG2.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline zinc titanate (ZnTiO3) was synthesized at low temperatures through the combination of a sol–gel processing and a polymer binder method. ZnTiO3 powders of ∼5 nm in size were obtained by heating pastes, which were composed of a Zn-Ti methanolic solution containing acetylacetone and an organic polymer binder, at 500°C in air. Thermal decomposition behavior of the pastes was analyzed by thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis. Crystallinity of ZnTiO3 was examined by transmission electron microscopy. The BET measurement revealed that the powders had a relatively high specific surface area of 106 m2/g.  相似文献

Reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization of an asymmetrical divinyl monomer, vinyl methacrylate (VMA), was investigated under various conditions. RAFT polymerization of VMA using a dithioester-type chain transfer agent (CTA) under suitable conditions afforded soluble polymers with a high content of pendant vinyl ester side chains in sufficient yields (>70%). The monomer concentration, the nature of the CTA, and the CTA/initiator ratio were found to affect the polymerization reaction and the structure of the resulting polymers; this behavior is attributed to the relative propensities for intermolecular propagating/cross-linking reactions and intramolecular cyclization. A kinetic study of the RAFT polymerization of VMA with the dithioester-type CTA 1 suggested that the propagation reaction of the methacryloyl group proceeded predominantly with a certain level of intramolecular cyclization during the early stage of the polymerization and intermolecular cross-linking during the final stage of the polymerization. Block copolymers with one segment featuring pendant vinyl functionality were synthesized by RAFT polymerization of VMA using poly(methyl methacrylate) as a macro-chain transfer agent (macro-CTA).  相似文献

The accommodation of client expectations in a construction project is challenging. This is, in part, because a client is rarely a single individual and their expectations are rarely static. This paper uses the actor–network theory (ANT) concepts of problematization, enrolment and durability to explore client engagement. The contribution of ANT lies in its (ontological) model of distributed agency, fluid heterogeneous networks and associated effects. A pilot study of a single building project provides an opportunity to theorize the different ways that clients engage in the development of a building. Client engagement differs with the direct versus mediated presence of different client actors, with the devices used to mediate negotiations and with the relative materiality of the network. The findings move the discussion of client engagement beyond the usual calls for better integration to an awareness of the mechanisms by which clients engage. Some decisions are fixed in material objects, while others remain open to ongoing negotiation. There is a need for explicit and continuous interaction and better awareness of when and how decisions are fixed. This would help all participants to deal with the complex and dynamic landscape of people, organizations and interests usually labelled as ‘client’.  相似文献

Experiments were conducted on a Pb-62% Sn eutectic alloy containing 160 ppm of Sb. The alloy was processed by equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) through 1 to 5 passes at room temperature and then tested in tension at a temperature of 423 K using initial strain rates from 1.0 × 10−4 to 1.0 × 10−1 s−1. Excellent superplastic elongations were achieved at intermediate strain rates with a maximum elongation to failure of 2,665%. It is shown that, for processing through similar numbers of ECAP passes, these elongations are higher than in an earlier investigation using a Pb-62% Sn alloy of higher purity. The results are presented pictorially in the form of a deformation mechanism map by plotting normalized grain size against normalized stress at a temperature of 423 K.  相似文献

Ultrafine-grained materials are attractive for achieving superplastic elongations provided the grains are reasonably stable at elevated temperatures. Since the strain rate in superplasticity varies inversely with the grain size raised to a power of two, a reduction in grain size to the submicrometer level leads to the occurrence of superplastic flow within the region of high strain rate superplasticity at strain rates >10−2 s−1. This paper tabulates and examines the various reports of superplasticity in ultrafine-grained materials. It is shown that these materials exhibit many characteristics similar to conventional superplastic alloys including strain rates that are consistent with the standard model for superplastic flow and the development of internal cavitation during the flow process.  相似文献
