The influence of processing parameters such as screw geometry, temperature profile, and screw speed on the electrical properties of hybrid composites consisting of graphite nanoplatelets and carbon black in ethyl butyl acrylate was studied. Two different screws were used to compound the hybrid composites at two different temperatures and two different screw speeds. A beneficial effect was noted with regard to the electrical properties when adding nanoplatelets to the filler system. The cause could be a synergistic effect due to the difference in particle shape of the two fillers. Lower percolation thresholds were obtained with the conventional screw due to less breakage of the graphite nanoplatelets compared to the barrier screw. No significant changes of the electrical properties were observed when changing the temperature profiles or the screw speeds. Furthermore, the melt viscosity of the compounds was not appreciably affected at the rather low filler contents used here. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Graphite oxide (GO) produced by Hummers method was added to epoxy for strengthening purpose. Generally the E‐modulus was increased due to the GO addition; however, depending on the treatment of the GO an increase or decrease was observed for the glass transition temperature. The change in glass transition was a result of changes in the curing behavior. Addition of GO initially increased the curing speed; however, the final curing degree was lower and was dependent on the type of GO added. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Previous attempts to use polylactide (PLA) latex particles and nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) in papermaking processing have been limited to low NFC content. In the present study, a bionanocomposite material was successfully produced using a PLA latex and NFC. The components were mixed using a wet mixing method and bionanocomposite films were made by filtration followed by hot pressing. In composite materials, the dispersion of the reinforcing component in the matrix is critical for the material properties. Biopolymers such as PLA are non-polar and soluble only in organic solvents; NFC is, however, highly hydrophilic. By utilizing latex, i.e., an aqueous dispersion of biopolymer micro-particles, wet mixing is possible and the problem of aggregation of the hydrophilic nanocellulose in organic solvent is avoided. The properties of the resulting NFC/PLA latex bionanocomposite films were analyzed. Thorough blending resulted in good dispersion of the reinforcing component within the matrix. Adding increasing amounts of NFC improved the Young's modulus, tensile strength, and strain at break of the bionanocomposite material. The increase in the tensile properties was linear with increasing NFC content as a result of the good dispersion. Surgical therapy has become an important therapeutic alternative for patients with medically intractable epilepsy. Correct and anatomically precise localization of an epileptic focus is essential to decide if resection of brain tissue is possible. The inverse problem in EEG-based source localization is to determine the location of the brain sources that are responsible for the measured potentials at the scalp electrodes. We propose a new global optimization method based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) to solve the epileptic spike EEG source localization inverse problem. In a forward problem a modified subtraction method is proposed to reduce the computational time. The good accuracy and fast convergence are demonstrated for 2D and 3D cases with realistic head models. The results from the new method are promising for use in the pre-surgical clinic in the future.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to introduce a decision support system that ranks patents based on multiple expert evaluations. The presented approach starts with the creation of three value scenarios for each considered patent by each expert. These are used for the construction of individual fuzzy pay-off distribution functions for the patent value; a consensual fuzzy pay-off distribution is then determined starting from the individual distributions. Possibilistic moments are calculated from the consensus pay-off distribution for each patent and used in ranking them with TOPSIS. It is further showed how the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) can be used to include additional decision variables into the patent selection, thus allowing for a two-tier decision making process. The system is illustrated with a numerical example and the usability of the system and the combination of methods it includes for patent portfolio selection in the real world context is discussed.  相似文献

In order to perform business modelling as apart of information systems development, there is a need for frameworks and methods. The paper proposes a framework for business interaction based on a language/action perspective. The framework is an architecture of five generic layers. The first layer concept is ‘business act’, which functions as the basic unit of analysis. The following four layer concepts are ‘action pair’, ‘exchange’, ‘business transaction’, and ‘transaction group’. The framework is inspired by a similar framework constructed by Weigand et al. The paper makes a critical examination of this framework as a basis for the proposed framework.  相似文献

Some movements within modern architecture particularly emphasise the importance of matching buildings to their surroundings. However, practicing such “contextual architecture” is highly challenging and typically not something the future inhabitants of a building are well equipped for participating in. This paper explores the potentials of using mobile phone technology for facilitating such client participation in the parts of an architecture process that take place on the building site. For this we introduce ArchiLens, a mobile system for interactive on-site 3D visualisation of houses, and findings from a field study with 40 participants in the process of building or modifying their home. The study showed that using the system helped evoke people’s imagination of the look and feel of their future house, and envision it in context. This enabled them to participate more closely in the design process on-site by iteratively reviewing design alternatives and exploring, for example, other placements and materials.  相似文献

The aim of the current study was to find out how the measures of chairs and desks match with the anthropometrics of schoolchildren and how schoolchildren sit during a lesson in their classroom. This paper reports the baseline measurements of an intervention study. Participants of this study were 6th and 8th grade (12 and 14 year old) schoolchildren from two comprehensive schools in Finland (N = 101, 57 girls and 44 boys). The main outcome measures were the differences between desk height and elbow-floor height, and chair height and popliteal height. Forty-three participants were randomized for sitting posture analysis by video recordings. The study showed that desks were on average 13 cm above elbow-floor height and chairs 2 cm below popliteal height. For 56% of time participants sat with their backs flexed >20 degrees and/or rotated >45 degrees . For 70% of time they sat with their necks flexed >20 degrees or rotated >45 degrees. The results indicate that there is a mismatch between school furniture and the anthropometrics of schoolchildren. Schoolchildren sit in disadvantaged postures for a substantial part of school lessons.  相似文献

The study evaluated the efficiency of two heat dissipation strategies under simulated desert patrol missions. Ten men participated in four trials, during which they walked on a treadmill (45°C, 20% relative humidity), carrying a load of 35 kg; two 50-min walks were separated by a 20-min rest. Cooling strategies, provided by an ambient air-ventilated vest (active cooling condition, AC), or water spraying of the skin during the rest (passive cooling condition, PC), in addition to reduced clothing and open zippers, were compared to conditions with full protective (FP) clothing and naked condition (NC). Skin temperature was higher during NC (37.9 ± 0.4°C; p < 0.001), and rectal temperature and heart rate were higher during FP (38.6 ± 0.4°C, p < 0.001 and 145 ± 12, p < 0.001, respectively), compared to other conditions. Four subjects terminated the trial prematurely due to signs of heat exhaustion in FP. Both cooling strategies substantially improved evaporative cooling.  相似文献

Text and digit entry speed of two wearable one-handed input paradigms, the Finger-Joint-Gesture palm-keypad glove and the Invisible Phone Clock, were benchmarked against traditional one-handed cellular phone keypad input in a repeated-measurement design employing 18 subjects using a 9-word sentence. No significant difference in error-corrected text entry speed (5.3 ec-wpm) was found. Digit entry speed was significantly faster (8.3 ec-wpm) and differed significantly between input paradigms. Furthermore, digit entry was fastest for the traditional cellular phone keypad and slowest for the Invisible Clock keypad. A prediction model based on Fitts' law slightly overestimated text entry speed for novice users. Another prediction model, where each movement time between successive keys was corrected for key repeat time for each specific input paradigm, predicted the experimental results more accurately. Thirteen of the subjects ranked the Invisible Phone Clock as 1st choice. The subjects' mapping of the Ericsson cellular phone functions (YES, CLR, NO, <,> and Address Book) was not according to the designer's model, partly due to functional fixedness. The input paradigms could be suitable candidates for new fragmentised interfaces where wearability is the key issue.  相似文献
