Experiments were conducted to determine the age-hardening characteristics and the mechanical properties of an Al-5.5 pct Mg-2.2 pct Li-0.12 pct Zr alloy processed by equal-channel angular (ECA) pressing to give a very fine grain size of ∼1.2 μm. The results show that peak aging occurs more rapidly when the grain size is very fine, and this effect is interpreted in terms of the higher volume of precipitate-free zones in the fine-grained material. Mechanical testing demonstrates that the ECA-pressed material exhibits high strength and good ductility at room temperature compared to conventional Al alloys containing Li. Elongations of up to ∼550 pct may be achieved at an elevated temperature of 603 K in the ECA-pressed condition, thereby confirming that, in this condition, the alloy may be a suitable candidate material for use in superplastic forming operations.  相似文献

Precipitation mechanism of BN in the ternary system of B-Mg-N   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
The phase relations in the ternary system B-Mg-N resulting from the reaction between Mg and BN at 2.5 GPa were investigated by means ofin situ differential thermal analysis (DTA) supported by a conventional quenching technique. One compound, Mg3B2N4, was newly formed when melted Mg reacted with hexagonal BN (hBN) solid above 1150° C and formed the eutectic with Mg and hBNat 737 and 1295° C, respectively. It was also confirmed that hBN crystals were precipitated from the liquid above 1300° C. The catalytic mechanism controlling cBN formation in the system Mg-BN was discussed from the experimental results of the present work. The lower temperature limit of cubic BN (cBN) growth region appears to be closely related to the initial formation of liquid phase due to a eutectic of Mg3B2N4-BN.  相似文献

C60 and picene thin film field-effect transistors (FETs) in bottom contact structure have been fabricated with poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) electrodes for a realization of mechanical flexible organic FETs. The C60 thin film FETs showed n-channel enhancement-type characteristics with the field-effect mobility μ value of 0.41 cm2 V?1 s?1, while the picene thin film FET showed p-channel enhancement-type characteristics with the μ of 0.61 cm2 V?1 s?1. The μ values recorded for C60 and picene thin film FETs are comparable to those for C60 and picene thin film FETs with Au electrodes.  相似文献

To improve the interaction between syndiotactic polypropylene (SPP) and fibrous cellulose (FC), the effects of the addition of maleated polypropylene (MAPP) and FC surface modification with 3‐aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) on SPP/FC composites were studied with respect to the morphology and the tensile properties. The addition of MAPP brought about an improvement in the interfacial adhesion between SPP and FC according to scanning electron microscopy observations and tensile testing. This improvement was, however, less effective than the improvement in the interfacial adhesion between isotactic polypropylene (IPP) and FC. SPP and MAPP partially or microscopically phase‐separated because of the IPP‐like polymer chain structure of MAPP. With respect to the compatibility between SPP and FC, FC surface modification with APTES was more suitable. The increase in Young's modulus was remarkable in the SPP/silanized FC composite with APTES. The tensile strength of the SPP/silanized FC composite with APTES was, however, considerably lower than that of the SPP/FC/MAPP composite. These results suggest that interfacial improvement between SPP and FC requires a compatibilizer or a surface modifier with a suitable primary structure. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This paper describes an improved microfluidic device that enables hydrodynamic particle concentration and size-dependent separation to be carried out in a continuous manner. In our previous study, a method for hydrodynamic filtration and sorting of particles was proposed using a microchannel having multiple branch points and side channels, and it was applied for continuous concentration and separation of polymer particles and cells. In the current study, the efficiency of particle sorting was dramatically improved by geometrically splitting fluid flow from a main stream and recombining. With these operations, particles with diameters larger than a specific value move toward one sidewall in the mainstream. This control of particle positions is followed by the perfect particle alignment onto the sidewall, which increases the selectivity and recovery rates without using a liquid that does not contain particles. In this study, a microchannel having one inlet and five outlets was designed and fabricated. By simply introducing particle suspension into the device, concentrations of 2.1-3.0-microm particles were increased 60-80-fold, and they were collected independently from each outlet. In addition, it was demonstrated that the measured flow rates distributed into each side channel corresponded well to the theoretical values when regarding the microchannel network as a resistive circuit.  相似文献

In order to establish a rapid and sensitive method for the detection of Verotoxigenic Escherichia coli O157 and O26, a collaborative study was conducted focusing on a comparison of the efficiency of loop-mediated amplification (LAMP) assay targeting the Verocytotoxin (also called Shiga toxin) gene, utilizing a direct plating method and a plating method with immunomagnetic separation (IMS-plating method) using various agar media. In combination with enrichment with the modified EC supplemented with novobiocin, E. coli O157 was detected in most samples of ground beef and alfalfa sprouts by LAMP assay, the direct plating method and the IMS-plating method. E. coli O26 was detected in approximately 100% of the food samples by LAMP assay. However, the IMS-plating and direct plating methods recovered 80 and 50% in ground beef samples, respectively. As a result, it was demonstrated the LAMP assay is superior to the IMS-plating method. Based on these results, it appears LAMP assay is effective as a screening assay to detect E. coli O157 and O26 from positive samples.  相似文献

Influence of the linewidth‐enhancement factor on the output and operations of InGaAs/InP pumping lasers emitting at a wavelength of 980 nm under strong optical feedback is investigated numerically. The investigations are performed based on intensive numerical integration of an improved time‐delay rate equations of semiconductor lasers over wide ranges of the linewidth‐enhancement factor and optical feedback strength. The results show that the semiconductor laser operates under strong optical feedback in continuous wave and pulsation at small values of the linewidth‐enhancement factor. Under large values of the linewidth‐enhancement factor, the laser happens to exhibit chaos and pulsation. We predict that semiconductor laser subjected to strong optical feedback exhibits much more stable pulsing operation under higher values of the linewidth‐enhancement factor, which indicates that the laser is locked at the external cavity frequency. The histone methyltransferase SET7/9 methylates not only histone but also non‐histone proteins as substrates, and therefore, SET7/9 inhibitors are considered candidates for the treatment of diseases. Previously, our group identified cyproheptadine, used clinically as a serotonin receptor antagonist and histamine receptor (H1) antagonist, as a novel scaffold of the SET7/9 inhibitor. In this work, we focused on dibenzosuberene as a substructure of cyproheptadine and synthesized derivatives with various functional groups. Among them, the compound bearing a 2‐hydroxy group showed the most potent activity. On the other hand, a 3‐hydroxy group or another hydrophilic functional group such as acetamide decreased the activity. Structural analysis clarified a rationale for the improved potency only by tightly restricted location and type of the hydrophilic group. In addition, a SET7/9 loop, which was only partially visible in the complex with cyproheptadine, became more clearly visible in the complex with 2‐hydroxycyproheptadine. These results are expected to be helpful for further structure‐based development of SET7/9 inhibitors.  相似文献
