In this paper the simple and complete asymptotically analysis is given for a uniform polar quantizer with respect to mean-square error (MSE) i.e.granular distortion (Dg). We also give the conditions for optimality of the polar quantizer and all main equations for phase partitions and optimal number oflevels are presented. We derive the Dgopt in a closed form. Thegain ofoptimal uniform polar quantization over product polar quantizations [1–3], is afforded by allowing a variable number of phasesat each magnitude level. A survey was conducted on the sample of 60 future engineers in order to determine whether inadequate computer feedback changes the supposed success in problem solving and whether personality traits are also in the function of this change. The research results showed that personality traits fail to influence the formation of beliefs on success. Results also showed that the situation of inadequate feedback results in the changes in beliefs, on the success in problem solving and that the change is in the function of personality traits and established experience-based behavior strategies. In this situation respondents do not form any strategy for attitude conservation, but inadequate computer feedback significantly reduces estimation of their success regardless to the fact that the objective achievement is not reduced.  相似文献

Polyamide 6/montmorillonite (MMT) nanocomposites were prepared by melt compounding method comprising 1–7.5 wt % of Nanomer I.24 TL or 5 and 10 wt % of Cloisite 15A organically modified nanoclays. The composite samples were characterized by synchrotron X‐ray, thermal and FT‐IR spectroscopy methods looking for changes in the micro‐ and nanostructure of both PA6 matrix and MMT reinforcement as a function of the clay content and type. These data were discussed in conjunction with the mechanical properties of the respective nanocomposites. Generally, the Young's modulus was found to increase proportionally to the clay content being the highest in samples with strong aggregation of MMT at micron length scale. The tensile strength passed through a maximum at 2.5 wt % clay load presenting a homogeneous microstructure with almost no agglomeration. Increasing the amount of MMT produced less crystalline PA6 matrices, richer in γ‐PA6 polymorph and resulted in larger long spacings of PA6 due to expansion of both crystalline and amorphous domains. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1) is one of the most variable monogenic diseases at phenotypic, genetic, and epigenetic level. The disease is multi-systemic with the age at onset ranging from birth to late age. The underlying mutation is an unstable expansion of CTG repeats in the DMPK gene, varying in size from 50 to >1000 repeats. Generally, large expansions are associated with an earlier age at onset. Additionally, the most severe, congenital DM1 form is typically associated with local DNA methylation. Genetic variability of DM1 mutation is further increased by its structural variations due to presence of other repeats (e.g., CCG, CTC, CAG). These variant repeats or repeat interruptions seem to confer an additional level of epigenetic variability since local DNA methylation is frequently associated with variant CCG repeats independently of the expansion size. The effect of repeat interruptions on DM1 molecular pathogenesis is not investigated enough. Studies on patients indicate their stabilizing effect on DMPK expansions because no congenital cases were described in patients with repeat interruptions, and the age at onset is frequently later than expected. Here, we review the clinical relevance of repeat interruptions in DM1 and genetic and epigenetic characteristics of interrupted DMPK expansions based on patient studies.  相似文献

Growth kinetics of Streptomyces erythreus were studied and mathematical equations developed to model the results. Computer simulations gave good agreement with experimental data. Owing to the use of complex media direct measurement of biomass was impossible. It was therefore evaluated by measurement of α, ?-LL-diamin-opimelic acid in cell walls, or by determining the reciprocal of the methylene blue reduction time.  相似文献

Knowledge of the thermodynamics of ammonia reforming in complex gases should be valuable for the control of nitrocarburizing processes. In this papersome gas mixtures based on N + H + O and/or N + H + O + C systems are discussed. From the equilibrium behaviour of these gas mixtures the nitrogen potential can be derived. The relations relevant to the application of measurement with oxygen sensors are shown and some errors due to the use of published equations are indicated. The calculation of the gas chemistry was made by a mathematical model named GPRO, developed by the authors, together with a specially determined data base for complex gaseous atmospheres.  相似文献

Abstract: Capital investment is a very important business decision, because it is largely irreversible and usually long-term. We believe that the use of expert systems as a decision aid for interactive investment decision-making offers several advantages to an unassisted human decision-maker, or even to the human/conventional-DSS combination. For example, the expert system could capture valuable information about so called 'hard data', and about the attitude towards some drastic changes in the environment, that are not easy to include in any quantitative method. However, if one expert can play a very important role in the decision-making process, perhaps different experts can be even more valuable, bringing different approaches and somewhat different sets of information to a decision-making situation. Our multiparadigm blackboard framework, called BEST (Blackboard-based Expert Systems Toolkit), allows its user to combine knowledge coming from different experts, and to use different methods/paradigms to capture that knowledge, according to the type of partial problem at hand where each knowledge source is a single paradigm program. In investment decision-making, judgmental investment ranking and selection from expert economists, embedded in a rule-based knowledge source, might be combined with decisions from operational research methods (embedded in a knowledge source that fully respects multicriteria optimization paradigm) and from risk analysis method (embedded in a conventional, procedural knowledge source). When the decisions being combined come from different types of knowledge sources, redundancy is likely to be reduced and the combined decision is likely to be more objective.  相似文献

In this paper, we analyze steganography as one of the branches in the application of secret and secure communication. Starting with an overview of steganographic methods and techniques of concealing information in various data formats, we then introduce a new system of information transfer within Microsoft Word documents via JPEG images previously processed with a steganographic tool StegApp 1.1.0, developed by the authors. This steganographic tool is based on the transformation of the JPEG image with a domain transformation technique with parameters obtained by the discrete cosine transform. In order to check the level of protection and performance of the StegApp 1.1.0 tool, it is qualitatively compared to the commercial SteganPEG tool, which works and encodes data in JPEG images in a similar way.  相似文献

The HiBRID-SoC multi-core system-on-chip architecture targets a wide range of multimedia applications with particularly high processing demands, including general signal processing applications, video de-/encoding, image processing, or a combination of these tasks. For this purpose, the HiBRID-SoC integrates three fully programmable processors cores and various interfaces onto a single chip, all tied to a 64-Bit AMBA AHB bus. The processor cores are individually optimized to the particular computational characteristics of different application fields, complementing each other to deliver high performance levels with high flexibility at reduced system cost. The HiBRID-SoC is fabricated in a 0.18 μm 6LM standard-cell CMOS technology, occupies about 81 mm2, and operates at 145 MHz. An MPEG-4 Advanced Simple Profile decoder in full D1 resolution requires about 120 MHz for real-time operation on the HiBRID-SoC, utilizing only two of the three cores. Together with the third core, a custom region-of-interest (ROI) based surveillance application can be built.Hans-Joachim Stolberg received the Dipl.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Hannover, Germany, in 1995.From 1995 to 1996, he was with the NEC Information Technology Research Laboratories, Kawasaki, Japan, working on efficient implementations of video compression algorithms. Since 1987 he is Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, since 2002 in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Hannover. His present research includes architectures and VLSI implementations for image processing applications, rapid prototyping and design automation for DSP applications. He is the author or coauthor of more than 200 technical papers. He has edited a book on VLSI Implementations for Image Communications (Elsevier 1993) and is author of the book Architectures for Digital Signal Processing (John Wiley 1998).Pirsch is a member of the IEEE, the German Institute of Information Technology Engineers (ITG) and the German Association of Engineers (VDI). He was recipient of several awards: the NTG paper price award (1982), IEEE Fellow (1997), IEEE Circuits and Systems Golden Jubilee Medal (1999). He was member or chair of several technical program committees of international conferences and organizer of special sessions and preconference courses. He has held several administrative and technical positions with the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society and other professional organizations. Dr. Pirsch currently serves as Vice President Publications of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society. Since 2000 he is chairman of the Accreditation Commission for Engineering and Informatics of the Accreditation Agency for Study Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Science and Mathematics (ASIIN).
