Carbon-based nanofillers, such as carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and graphene sheets are considered as effective nanoreinforcements due to their unique structures and material performance. However, the utilisation of such nanofillers can be hindered owing to a high level of nanotoxicity via human inhalation and high material cost for CNTs, as well as the tendency to form agglomerates of graphene sheets in polymer matrices. Bamboo charcoals (BCs) are eco-friendly and sustainable carbon-based particles, which possess good affinity with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), one of popular water soluble biopolymers, to achieve excellent properties of PVA/BC nanocomposites. In particular, porous structures of BC particles enable polymeric molecules to easily penetrate with the strong internal bonding. In this study, fully eco-friendly PVA/BC nanocomposite films were successfully fabricated using a simple solution casting method to achieve the high dispersibility of BCs. With the inclusion of only 3 wt% BCs, tensile modulus and tensile strength of PVA/BC nanocomposite films were enhanced by 70.2 and 71.6%, respectively, when compared with those of PVA films. Better thermal stability is manifested for resulting nanocomposite films as opposed to that of pristine PVA, which is evidenced by the maximum increase of 17.8% in the decomposition temperature at the weight loss of 80%. It is anticipated that BCs can compete against conventional carbon-based nanofillers with a great potential to be developed into eco-friendly nanocomposites used for thin-film packaging application.  相似文献

A bifunctional reactive disperse dye containing two temporarily anionic sulphatoethylsulphone groups was synthesised and applied to nylon 6 fabric by exhaust dyeing at a variety of pH levels and temperatures. A monofunctional reactive disperse dye containing one temporarily anionic sulphatoethylsulphone group was also synthesised, and its dyeing behaviour was compared with the bifunctional dye. The bifunctional reactive disperse dye exhibited high exhaustion and total fixation yield under alkaline conditions. The results also indicate that the introduction of two temporarily anionic sulphatoethylsulphone groups of the bifunctional dye gave an enhancement in dyeing performance compared with that of the monofunctional dye. The dyes also showed very good levelling and fastness properties on nylon 6 fabric.  相似文献

In this study, a fast and inexpensive approach is introduced to assist stabilization of polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fibers by adding ammonium iron(II) sulfate in coagulation bath. Effects of chemical treatment on stabilization process and structural evolution of fibers are studied using calorimetric, infrared, and X‐ray techniques. A stepwise infrared study confirms the assisted cyclization reaction, and an X‐ray analysis reveals a significant improvement in crystallinity and orientation of polymer chains which lead to an increase in tensile strength and modulus of PAN fibers. Differential scanning calorimetry results show 13 °C reductions in peak temperature of the stabilization reaction which means a sign of chemical activation at lower temperature by adding sulfate ions. Quantification of IR spectra shows a 7% increase in extent of reaction of chemically treated fibers and higher degree of conjugation compared with untreated and post‐treated fibers. Finally, mechanical properties of chemically treated fibers are improved due to an increase in size and orientation of polymer chains after chemical treatment in the coagulation bath. Compared to control and post‐treated PAN fibers, thermochemical properties of presented fibers are improved due to chemically assisted stabilization, and as a consequence, energy consumption of the stabilization step will be reduced by a simple and facile treatment.  相似文献

The effect of laser fluence on the optical, structural and morphological properties of PbI2 nanoparticles NPs synthesized by pulsed laser ablation in ethanol was studied. The direct optical energy gap of PbI2 NPs prepared at various laser fluences was in the range of (3–3.3 eV) at room temperature. Three absorption peaks related to surface plasmon resonance at 337, 435 and 507 nm are observed. XRD results show that all the grown PbI2 NPs are polycrystalline in nature and the formation of hexagonal structure 2H-polytype was observed at laser fluence of 3.6 J/cm2. The surface morphology of PbI2 NPs investigated by SEM revealed formation of hexagonal, platelet-like and spherical NPs morphologies. TEM images showed formation of spherical particles with size varied from 10 to 75 nm depending on the laser fluence. PL measurement shows emission of broad peak centered at 350 nm and increasing the laser fluence results in red shift. The Raman spectra of PbI2 NPs revealed existence of five vibration modes situated at 74, 96,106, 169 and 213 per cm. FT-IR investigation showed a broad band at 3383 per cm indexed to symmetric stretching vibration of Pb–I clusters and band at 725 per cm related to bending mode of O–H.  相似文献

Dynamically vulcanized poly(vinyl chloride)/epoxidized natural rubber (PVC/ENR) thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) were prepared with a Brabender plasticorder coupled with a mixing attachment by melt mixing. The blends were prepared at 150°C at a rotor speed of 50 rpm. Curatives concentration was steadily increased from 0 to 1 phr in order to study the vulcanization effect on the plasticized blend. The effectiveness of the dynamic vulcanization was indicated by the Brabender plastograms. The properties investigated include mass swell, tensile strength, elongation at break, modulus at 100% elongation (M100), tear strength, and hardness. The PVC/ENR samples were exposed to two types of environments, namely, air and oil under otherwise identical conditions. The effect of oil and thermooxidative aging on the mechanical properties were characterized at room temperature and 100°C. It was found that at ambient temperature the samples immersed in oil possessed similar properties to those that were exposed to air. Significant enhancement in mechanical properties were observed for both environments at 100°C. This has been attributed to the increase in crosslink density which was manifested by a steady reduction in percent mass swell with increased sulfur loading. The excellent mechanical behavior of the PVC/ENR TPEs even after immersing the samples in oil at 100°C has provided a good indication of the oil resistance of the materials. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The objectives of this study are the correlation between the oil samples recovered from the Lower Cretaceous reservoirs and Lower and Upper Cretaceous source rocks. The investigated biomarkers of five oils indicated the oils were derived from mixed marine and terrigenous (lacustrine) organic matter and deposited under suboxic to anoxic conditions. These oils were also generated from source rocks of high thermal maturity at the peak oil window. So, based on the molecular indicators of organic source input,depositional environment and maturity parameters of oils and extracts, we can conclude that the oil recovered from Al Baraka oil field were derived from Lower Cretaceous source rocks especially KomOmbo (B) source rocks where it reached the oil window. Furthermore, we can indicate that the other lower Cretaceous formations as Abu Ballas Formation will have the opportunity to generate and expel oil at the deeper part of the basin as shown in the eastern part of the basin.  相似文献

Dry compacts of pure Fe2O3 and Fe2O3 doped with either (2–6 mass%) MnO2, (2.5–7.5 mass%) SiO2 or with both (2–6% MnO2 + 7.5% SiO2) were indurated at 1373 K for 6 hours and physically and chemically characterized. The fired compacts were isothermally reduced with pure CO gas at 1073–1373 K. The O2‐weight loss was continuously recorded as a function of time using TGA technique. The external volume of pure and doped compacts was measured at different reduction conditions and the volume change was calculated. The structural changes accompanying the reduction process were visually and microscopically examined and the different phases were identified by X‐ray diffraction analysis. After firing, manganese ferrite (MnFe2O4) phase was identified in MnO2‐doped compacts. In pure Fe2O3 compacts, the external volume of compacts was increased with reduction temperature, showing a maximum swelling value at 1198 K. Catastrophic swelling was observed in MnO2‐doped Fe2O3 compacts, the volume change increased with MnO2 content showing catastrophic swelling in compacts containing 6%MnO2 at 1248 K. The catastrophic swelling was attributed to the formation of dense metallic iron whiskers and plates in a highly porous structure. Unlike in MnO2‐doped samples, no considerable volume changes were detected in SiO2‐doped Fe2O3 and (MnO2 + SiO2)‐doped Fe2O3 compacts where the presence of silica greatly hindered the swelling phenomenon at all reduction temperatures.  相似文献

A fast and simple method for the determination of the efficiency coefficient (η) of bare CR-39 detector is presented and discussed. The efficiency coefficient of bare CR-39 detector is then calculated by different ways and the obtained values are found to be comparable to each other. The average value of η of bare CR-39 is found to be 0.20 ± 0.01 tracks cm−2 day−1 per Bq m−3.  相似文献

In this study Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM) as an alternative of conventional computational fluid dynamics method is used to simulate Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (DMFC). A two dimensional lattice Boltzmann model with 9 velocities, D2Q9, is used to solve the problem. The computational domain includes all seven parts of DMFC: anode channel, catalyst and diffusion layers, membrane and cathode channel, catalyst and diffusion layers. The model has been used to predict the flow pattern and concentration fields of different species in both clear and porous channels to investigate cell performance. The results have been compared well with results in literature for flow in porous and clear channels and cell polarization curves of the DMFC at different flow speeds and feed methanol concentrations.  相似文献
