Experimental assessment of hydrostatic thrust bearing performance   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
This work presents an experimental study to assess the performance characteristics of hydrostatic thrust bearings. A test rig is designed for testing two configurations of hydrostatic bearings compensated by a capillary tube, one with a mid-circular recess and the other with multi-sectors (four recesses of different recess radii ratios). The performance characteristics have been measured, namely, oil film thickness, recess pressure, pressure distribution and oil flow rate. A specially devised computer program using an iterative technique has been adopted to compute numerically the pressure distribution and predict other performance characteristics. Good agreement has been obtained between predicted theoretical performance and that experimentally measured. The results demonstrate that the bearing recess size and location have a great influence on the performance of the hydrostatic thrust bearing.  相似文献

The frictional behaviour was experimentally investigated of alumino-silicate ceramics (3Al2O3, 2SiO2) rubbing against a hard steel surface under static and kinetic friction conditions. Tests were carried out on a pin-on-disc machine under both dry and wet contact conditions. Results showed that the frictional behaviour under either static or kinetic conditions was highly dependent on the ceramic body phase transformation which in turn was controlled by the firing temperature during ceramic processing and treatment. Lower friction values were evident when using specimens of ceramic bodies containing a high mullite crystalline phase, which are attained at high firing temperatures. Both the running speed and applied loads had insignificant effects at high loads.During kinetic friction tests lower frictional values were displayed than for static friction tests under wet contact conditions, and under dry conditions when using high mullite ceramic bodies. For specimens of ceramics fired at relatively low temperatures, kinetic friction tests produced higher frictional values than static friction tests.  相似文献

The selection of critical control points is one of the most important steps in the design of a hazard analysis and critical control points system. In this study, the influence of starter culture inoculation on biogenic amine accumulation in fresh fermented sausage as critical control point was studied. The effect of three starter culture Lactobacillus plantarum plus Bifidobacterium lactis, L. plantarum plus Bifidobacterium bifidum or L. plantarum plus B. lactis and B. bifidum on amines production were investigated. Tyramine (TY), Cadaverine (CA), Putrescine (PU), Histamine (HIS) and Tryptamine (TR) contents increased during the fermentation and storage stage, and TY was the prevailing amine in the final product. Sausages produced by fermentation with starters, as compared to natural fermentation (control), had a lower amount of biogenic amine. A great reduction in biogenic amine content was achieved when Bifidobacterium sp. were inoculated, also levels of species of Enterobacteriaceae and Pseudomonas decreased, while lactic acid bacteria counts increased during fermentation and storage.  相似文献

Based on nonlocal theory of thermal elasticity mechanics, a nonlocal elastic Timoshenko beam model is developed for free vibration analysis of zigzag single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) considering thermal effect. The nonlocal constitutive equations of Eringen are used in the formulations. The equivalent Young’s modulus and shear modulus for zigzag SWCNT are derived using an energy-equivalent model. Results indicate significant dependence of natural frequencies on the temperature change as well as the chirality of zigzag carbon nanotube. These findings are important in mechanical design considerations of devices that use carbon nanotubes.  相似文献

In this study, we use the finite element method to analyze the propagation's path of the crack in the orthopedic cement of the total hip replacement. In fact, a small python statement was incorporated with the Abaqus software to do in loop the following operations: extracting the crack propagation direction from the previous study using the maximal circumferential stresses criterion, drawing the new path, meshing and calculating again (stresses and fracture parameters). The loop is broken when the user's desired crack length is reached (number of propagations) or the value of the mode I stress intensity factor is negative. Results show that the crack propagation's path can be influenced by human body posture. The existing of a cavity in the vicinity of the crack can change its propagation path or can absolutely attract it enough to meet it. Crack can propagate in the outward direction (toward the acetabulum bone) and cannot propagate in the opposite direction, the mode I stress intensity factor increases with the crack length and that of mode II vanishes.  相似文献

The different electrical properties, σ, ?′, tan δ and Eσ of pure and Li2O-doped CuO/MgO solid solution were investigated. The mole fraction of CuO (MF) was varied between 0.048 and 0.2. Pure and doped samples were subjected to heat treatments at 673 and 1073 K. The results revealed that the amount of CuO dissolved in MgO lattice increases progressively by increasing the MF as evidenced from the progressive decrease in the intensity of all diffraction lines of undissolved CuO phase. The dissolution process of copper ions in MgO lattice was accompanied by progressive increase in its lattice parameter. This process being conducted at 1073 K was accompanied by a significant progressive increase in the values of σ, ?′ and tan δ with subsequent decrease in the value of Eσ. The increase in the MF value of CuO from 0.048 to 0.2 led to a significant increase in the value of σDC, measured at room temperature, from 6.33 × 10−12 to 9.9 × 10−10 Ω−1 cm−1 and Eσ decreases from 0.76 to 0.58 eV.Li2O doping of the investigated system followed by calcination at 1073 K resulted in a measurable increase in values of σ, ?′ and tan δ with subsequent decrease in Eσ. These results were discussed in the light of the possible effective increase in the charge carriers concentration (Cu2+ions dissolved in MgO lattice) and also to an effective increase in mobility of these charge carriers by Li2O doping.  相似文献

The commercial potential of olive oils from three consecutive crop years, derived from the main autochthonous olive varieties Chemlali Tataouine, Fakhari Douirat, Zarrazi Douirat and Dhokar Douirat grown in the arid region of Tataounine (Tunisia) was examined with regards to stability and nutrition aspects. Several characteristics such as fatty acid composition, the extremely high phenol-type antioxidant content, and the low levels of green pigments suggested that these oils, the only fat source for the local people, are of promising composition. Efforts to develop commercial products from these varieties could improve antioxidant intake of the local population. The introduction of Good Manufacturing Practices is a prerequisite so that the quality observed for oils obtained by an Abencor system to be achieved also in real life. This can be feasible through appropriate oleoculture, which is often the only viable agricultural activity in remote arid regions such as Tataouine.  相似文献

This paper focuses on the overall performances of Otto, Atkinson, and Diesel air standard cycles. This study compares performance of these cycles with regard to parameters such as variable specific heat ratio, heat transfer loss, frictional loss, and internal irreversibility based on finite‐time thermodynamics. The relationship between thermal efficiency and compression ratio, and between power output and compression ratio of these cycles are obtained by numerical examples. In this study, it is assumed that during the combustion process, the heat transfer occurs only through the cylinder wall. The heat transfer is affected by the average temperature of both the cylinder wall and the working fluid. The results show that for each cycle, with the increase of the compression ratio in the specific mean piston speed, power output and thermal efficiency first increase and after reaching their maximum value, start to decrease. The results also indicate that maximum power output and maximum thermal efficiency of an Atkinson cycle could be higher than the values of these parameters in Diesel cycle and Otto cycle in the same operating conditions. The maximum power output and the maximum thermal efficiency of the Otto cycle have the lowest value among studied cycles. By increasing the mean piston speed, power output and thermal efficiency of Atkinson, Diesel, and Otto cycles start to decrease. The results of this study provide guidance for the performance analysis and show the improvement areas of practical Otto, Atkinson, and Diesel engines.  相似文献

Food authenticity and safety are major concerns for researchers, consumers, and particularly the meat industry. Meat products are targets for species substitution and adulteration due to their market value. Presently, the demand for halal products is witnessing a substantial increase. Therefore, it is essential to use appropriate science-based methods for determining the species origin of halal meat. DNA barcoding is a useful technique for the molecular identification of biological specimens, and raw and processed foods. The potential of using DNA barcoding is increasingly applied as an authentication tool for halal animal and meat products. Our review will bring together all DNA-based techniques that have been developed for the authenticity of meat derived from halal and non-halal animals and also their derivatives. Additionally, the present paper will highlight the possibility of using the DNA barcoding approach for halal meat authenticity.  相似文献

Zirconia was synthesized by sol–gel and post-hydrothermal treatment under autogenous pressure in order to study the effect of synthesis methods on its structural and textural properties. On the basis of thermal analysis, in situ X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy techniques, the synthesis processes exhibit similar thermal behavior and zirconia phase transformation. The effect of in situ calcination temperature on the crystallization behavior, crystal phase transition, and crystallite size analysis was studied. The results obtained revealed that amorphous zirconia transformed into tetragonal phase above 400 °C and thermally stabilized up to 700 °C. A biphasic mixture of tetragonal and monoclinic zirconia was formed at 750 °C. Activation energy of sintering due to grain growth mechanism predicted that the zirconia phase transformation is due to the increase in the crystallite size of tetragonal phase above its critical size. The post-hydrothermal treatment resulted in the formation of high surface area mesoporous zirconia (213 m2 g?1). Upon increasing the calcination temperature, a pronounced decrease in the specific surface area of zirconia samples due to sintering process and phase transformation.  相似文献
