 Envelope analysis is an effective method for characterizing impulsive vibrations in wired condition monitoring (CM) systems. This paper depicts the implementation of envelope analysis on a wireless sensor node for obtaining a more convenient and reliable CM system. To maintain CM performances under the constraints of resources available in the cost effective Zigbee based wireless sensor network (WSN), a low cost cortex-M4F microcontroller is employed as the core processor to implement the envelope analysis algorithm on the sensor node. The on-chip 12 bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) working at 10 kHz sampling rate is adopted to acquire vibration signals measured by a wide frequency band piezoelectric accelerometer. The data processing flow inside the processor is optimized to satisfy the large memory usage in implementing fast Fourier transform (FFT) and Hilbert transform (HT). Thus, the envelope spectrum can be computed from a data frame of 2048 points to achieve a frequency resolution acceptable for identifying the characteristic frequencies of different bearing faults. Experimental evaluation results show that the embedded envelope analysis algorithm can successfully diagnose the simulated bearing faults and the data transmission throughput can be reduced by at least 95% per frame compared with that of the raw data, allowing a large number of sensor nodes to be deployed in the network for real time monitoring.  相似文献

Future enhanced oil recovery technology can greatly benefit from the wireless sensor networks to effectively operate in underground oil reservoirs. In such a case, millimeter scale sensor nodes with antennas at the same scale have to be deployed in the confined underground oil reservoir fractures. This necessitates the sensor nodes to be operating in the THz frequency range. In this paper, the propagation based on electromagnetic (EM) waves in the Terahertz band (0.1-120.0 THz) through a crude oil/water mixture and soil medium is analyzed in order to explore its applicability in underground oil reservoir assessments. The developed model evaluates the total path loss and the absorption loss that an EM wave experiences when propagating through the crude oil/water mixture and soil medium. Our results show that sensors can communicate successfully for distances up to 1 cm. Furthermore, we have determined the existence of two transmission bands, in which the path loss is below 100 dB. Among those, the frequency window, which provides the best performance, is determined as 70 THz to 85 THz. Different path and absorption loss schemes are considered, which suggests that the 70 THz to 85 THz band is suitable for sensor communications in a medium of crude oil/water mixture and soil.  相似文献

A multi-rate model predictive controller algorithm is presented for the in-batch closed-loop control of the full particle size distribution (PSD) in a semibatch emulsion copolymerization system. The lack of frequent measurements of the PSD and the measurement delay of these measurements are addressed through the use of frequent density measurements from which the current conditions of the system are estimated. The high dimensionality of the discretized full PSD is reduced by the use of model order reduction based on principal component analysis. This method effectively reduces the size of the problem while preserving the main characteristics of the population balance system. Disturbances that perturb the surfactant and monomer amounts inside the semibatch vinyl acetate–butyl acrylate reactor are considered to demonstrate the performance of the proposed control algorithm.  相似文献

Materials forming sand grains and colluvial soil deposits have a distinct structure, consisting of a composite matrix of coarse and fine soil grains. The influence of sand grains content on the behaviour of sand–clay mixtures was investigated by a series of intensive laboratory experiments. The California bearing ratio (CBR), unconfined compression strength (UCS) and compaction tests were carried out on various contents of sand and clay mixtures. The sand–clay mixtures were prepared with sand contents of 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50% by weight. The laboratory tests on these mixtures have indicated that their behaviour will depend on the relative concentration of the sand and clay samples. The results of the tests showed a decrease in the UCS, and an increase the CBR values with an increase in the amount of sand. An increase in dry unit weight and a decrease in respective moisture content by an increase in the amount of sand were observed in the compaction tests.  相似文献

In this paper, we present general formulae for the mask of (2b + 4)-point n-ary approximating as well as interpolating subdivision schemes for any integers ${b\,\geqslant\,0}$ and ${n\,\geqslant\,2}$ . These formulae corresponding to the mask not only generalize and unify several well-known schemes but also provide the mask of higher arity schemes. Moreover, the 4-point and 6-point a-ary schemes introduced by Lian [Appl Appl Math Int J 3(1):18–29, 2008] are special cases of our general formulae.  相似文献

Biodiesel is receiving increasing attention each passing day because of its fuel properties and compatibility with the petroleum-based diesel fuel (PBDF). Therefore, in this study, the prediction of the engine performance and exhaust emissions is carried out for five different neural networks to define how the inputs affect the outputs using the biodiesel blends produced from waste frying palm oil. PBDF, B100, and biodiesel blends with PBDF, which are 50% (B50), 20% (B20) and 5% (B5), were used to measure the engine performance and exhaust emissions for different engine speeds at full load conditions. Using the artificial neural network (ANN) model, the performance and exhaust emissions of a diesel engine have been predicted for biodiesel blends. According to the results, the fifth network is sufficient for all the outputs. In the fifth network, fuel properties, engine speed, and environmental conditions are taken as the input parameters, while the values of flow rates, maximum injection pressure, emissions, engine load, maximum cylinder gas pressure, and thermal efficiency are used as the output parameters. For all the networks, the learning algorithm called back-propagation was applied for a single hidden layer. Scaled conjugate gradient (SCG) and Levenberg–Marquardt (LM) have been used for the variants of the algorithm, and the formulations for outputs obtained from the weights are given in this study. The fifth network has produced R2 values of 0.99, and the mean % errors are smaller than five except for some emissions. Higher mean errors are obtained for the emissions such as CO, NOx and UHC. The complexity of the burning process and the measurement errors in the experimental study can cause higher mean errors.  相似文献

A MATLAB-based one-way and two-way split-step parabolic equation software tool (PETOOL) has been developed with a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) for the analysis and visualization of radio-wave propagation over variable terrain and through homogeneous and inhomogeneous atmosphere. The tool has a unique feature over existing one-way parabolic equation (PE)-based codes, because it utilizes the two-way split-step parabolic equation (SSPE) approach with wide-angle propagator, which is a recursive forward–backward algorithm to incorporate both forward and backward waves into the solution in the presence of variable terrain. First, the formulation of the classical one-way SSPE and the relatively-novel two-way SSPE is presented, with particular emphasis on their capabilities and the limitations. Next, the structure and the GUI capabilities of the PETOOL software tool are discussed in detail. The calibration of PETOOL is performed and demonstrated via analytical comparisons and/or representative canonical tests performed against the Geometric Optic (GO) + Uniform Theory of Diffraction (UTD). The tool can be used for research and/or educational purposes to investigate the effects of a variety of user-defined terrain and range-dependent refractivity profiles in electromagnetic wave propagation.

In this paper, a new method for aggregating the opinions of experts in a preferential voting system is proposed. The method, which uses fuzzy concept in handling crisp data, is computationally efficient and is able to completely rank the alternatives. Through this method, the number of votes for certain rank position that each alternative receives are first grouped together to form fuzzy numbers. The nearest point to a fuzzy number concept is then used to introduce an artificial ideal alternative. Data envelopment analysis is next used to find the efficiency scores of the alternatives in a pair-wise comparison with the artificial ideal alternative. Alternatives are rank based on these efficiency scores. If the alternatives are not completely ranked, a weight restriction method also based on fuzzy concept is used on the un-discriminated alternatives until they are completely ranked. Unmanned Aircraft (UA) have become an integral part of the present-day joint air operations. UA have potential to be employed across the full spectrum of Air Force functions. On the other hand, UA technology could be a subject of an asymmetric use by state actors in high or low density conflict, and/or by non-state actors in many ways including terrorism, drug smuggling, and limited attack with unconventional payloads i.e. biological or chemical agents. Therefore countering the threat associated with the hostile UA use could be necessary in the future. First part of the research revealed that UA can be a threat in the future. In the second part of the research, the SWOT (Strengths-Weaknesses-Opportunities-Threats) analysis supplemented with the Tree analysis (SWOT+Tree) provided a broader look for investigating the factors related to hostile UA use analytically. In literature, there is little information about the concepts for CUAOPS. The final goal of the paper is to find possible solutions and means for a better understanding of the nature of CUAOPS.  相似文献
