Crystals of mixed NdLa heptamolybdates (max. size0.75×0.75×0.75 mm3) grown by silica gel technique were characterized using EDAX, IR, optical and scanning electron micrscopies.X-ray as well as electrn diffraction. The composition of the crystals was determined as (Nd1/2 La1/2 )2 Mo7O24·35H2O.The crystals exhibit varied morpholgies including square and octagonal platelets, cuboids, multifaceted crystal in coalesced and aggregated forms and spherulites.The XRD results indicate crystallinity of the grown material. Electron diffraction results suggest thermal instability of the material. IR results show the presence of peaks due to water and metal-oxygen bonds  相似文献

The SSC GEM silicon Central Tracker design incorporated 18-cm long single-sided AC-coupled silicon microstrip ladders. Compared to the 12-cm long ladders considered in the preliminary stages of the tracker design, the 18-cm long ladders have the advantage of reduced cost, channel count and overall power consumption, and led to a simplified tracker assembly. However, such long ships also present the challenge of maintaining satisfactory performance. The increased capacitance and series resistance contribute to lower signal-to-noise ratios, longer time walk, higher power consumption per channel and increased probability of crosstalk to neighboring channels. In this paper, an accurate method to calculate the geometric capacitance of the AC-coupled microstrips is presented and the calculated results are compared with measurements, SPICE simulations are performed to predict the noise, the extent of interstrip capacitive coupling and the dispersion of the detector signal due to the finite series resistance of the metal strips and the long length of the detector. The influence of the preamplifier current and the shaping time on the signal and noise levels is also presented. The study concludes that the 18-cm long ladders can successfully satisfy the performance goals of the GEM silicon Central Tracker  相似文献

Results of chemical, x-ray phase, and petrographic investigations of slag are presented. It is established that slag from the production of aluminum alloys from secondary raw materials can be classified as a high-alumina refractory material (85–95% Al2O3 + SiO2, refractoriness 1670–1770°C). The refractory properties of the slag can be retained by magnetic separation. There is a practical possibility of using this slag in the production of refractories. Results obtained in a study of factors that affect shaping and sintering of highly porous materials are presented. A technology providing highly porous silicon nitride materials that is based on shaping preliminarily fabricated pieces of thermoplastic slip makes it possible to use initial silicon powders of different dispersities. Aside from causing functional impairments, such diseases directly may involve the genitourinary system--particularly its neurologic control--resulting in specific lower urinary tract pathophysiology. Undoped and phosphorus (P)-doped diamond-clad Si field emitter arrays have been successfully fabricated using microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition (MPCVD) technology. The electron emission from the blunt diamond-clad microtips are much higher than those for the pure Si tips with sharp curvature due to a lower work function. Furthermore, the characteristics of emission current against applied voltage for the P-doped diamond-clad tips show superior emission at lower field to the undoped ones. After the examination of Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) and electrical characteristics of as-grown diamond, such a significant enhancement of the electron emission from the P-doped diamond-clad tips is attributed to a higher electron conductivity and defect densities  相似文献

We consider extinction of various dispersed systems. Isolated boron particles and boron particles in gases are studied. Stability analysis of steady-state thermal regimes of reacting heterogeneous systems for the case of two parallel reactions on the reaction surface using the Frank-Kamenetskii method gives extinction conditions in oxygen-containing media. Curves of the extinction particle size versus the ambient temperature, oxidizer concentration, and, for particles in gases, also versus the oxidizer-to-fuel ratio are plotted. Approximate analytical calculations showed that the extinction process can be most actively controlled by varying the combustion temperature: a decrease in the latter increases the extinction particle size and decreases the completeness of fuel combustion. It is shown that at low ambient temperatures the extinction particle size for suspensions is larger than that for isolated particles. This effect is caused by a decrease in the oxidizer concentration during combustion of suspensions. The fabrication, properties and composition of heated phosphate-bonded clay bricks are reported. The strength of phosphate-bonded clay bodies is shown to be related to the equilibrium pH of the clay mix. The highest strengths were obtained for mixes with equilibrium pH 7 fired at 500°C which gave a modulus of rupture 60% higher than the unmodified clay heated under similar conditions but at 800°C firing temperature. The phosphate-bonded products were also of low porosity and improved dimensional stability. An insight into the probable mechanism of strength development of the heated product has been obtained from XRD, SEM and DSC studies. The results show that the properties of the phosphate-bonded clay bodies are critically affected by new mineral phases resulting from the reactions of phosphates with clay which subsequently undergo physico-chemical changes above 550°C.  相似文献

An investigation of the flow inside the nozzle of a Cross-Flow turbine, which is a hydraulic turbine where the rectangular water jet issuing from the nozzle crosses the rotor blades twice, is presented here. Part of the investigation consisted in the experimental measurement of the static pressure distribution on the inside walls of two different nozzle configurations, both with the nozzle mounted alone and in the presence of a rotor. The tests performed in the presence of a rotor included the measurement of efficiency and covered a wide range of working conditions around the best efficiency point. The analysis of the results obtained in this way give us an indication of the influence of the turbine non-dimensional volume flow rate on the flow inside the nozzle and the way it affects the reaction degree of the machine and its efficiency level. Although most of the tests were carried out with a 25-blade rotor, one of the analysed nozzle configurations (that with an inside vane) was also tested with a 10-blade rotor, permitting the assessment of the effect the number of blades has on the flow in the nozzle.The flow inside the nozzle with no inside vane was numerically analysed using a method based on a Schwarz-Christoffel conformal transformation of variables. The numerical results show a fair agreement with the experimental data collected when the rotor was not present. A qualitative discussion of some of the losses occurring in the nozzle is advanced based on the computer results, and its conclusions are used for explaining the poor performance of the nozzle with no inside vane.  相似文献
