The ozonation process has become one of the most favorable processes among soil remediation technologies nowadays. Ozone, which has an oxidation potential of 2.07 V and acts as a powerful oxidizer, is capable of degrading organic pollutants of soil in a short period of time without producing any toxic residuals. In this study the capability of ozone, as an ex-situ method of soil treatment, in remediating the leachate-contaminated soil has been investigated. To maximize the removal efficiency of organic content of soil, design of experiments using the response surface method (RSM) and central composite design (CCD) have been employed. To select the range of effective parameters several experiments were performed at laboratory scale. Results showed a range of effective parameters on the ozonation process, including pH, humidity, and initial soil pollution. Present research shows that acid-washed ozone greatly enhanced the removal efficiency. According to the developed model, the maximum removal efficiency using acid-washed ozone was obtained by setting the parameters as pH = 10.8, humidity of 5% and initial organic content of soil to be 7720 mg/kg. Confirmation experiments showed that RSM could be effectively utilized for the optimization of the ozonation process. Analysis of variance also showed that pH was the most significant factor affecting removal efficiency.  相似文献

The number of mobile devices accessing wireless networks is skyrocketing due to the rapid advancement of sensors and wireless communication technology. In the upcoming years, it is anticipated that mobile data traffic would rise even more. The development of a new cellular network paradigm is being driven by the Internet of Things, smart homes, and more sophisticated applications with greater data rates and latency requirements. Resources are being used up quickly due to the steady growth of smartphone devices and multimedia apps. Computation offloading to either several distant clouds or close mobile devices has consistently improved the performance of mobile devices. The computation latency can also be decreased by offloading computing duties to edge servers with a specific level of computing power. Device-to-device (D2D) collaboration can assist in processing small-scale activities that are time-sensitive in order to further reduce task delays. The task offloading performance is drastically reduced due to the variation of different performance capabilities of edge nodes. Therefore, this paper addressed this problem and proposed a new method for D2D communication. In this method, the time delay is reduced by enabling the edge nodes to exchange data samples. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has better performance than traditional algorithm.  相似文献

Hydraulic jumps in density currents are technically referred to density jumps. These jumps significantly influence the dynamic and quality characteristics of the gravity currents. The density jump is studied theoretically and experimentally in this study by considering the bed roughness. Experiments were performed in a rectangular laboratory flume (0.4 m width; 0.9 m depth; 8.3 m length). Four rough beds comprised of closely packed gravel particles glued onto the horizontal part of the bed were examined. For both smooth and rough beds, a simple relationship was obtained for estimating the conjugate depth ratio as a function of the relative roughness and the upstream densimetric Froude number. The conjugate depth ratio was found to decrease with increasing relative roughness. The results also indicated that, if the entrainment ratio is specified, the minimum value of the upstream densimetric Froude number increases with increasing relative bed roughness. An equation for calculating the maximum possible value of the relative roughness was also determined. The spatial development of the density current for smooth beds was analysed in both super‐critical and sub‐critical flow regimes. Good similarity collapses of velocity and concentration profiles were obtained for the super‐critical section just upstream of the jump. The concentration distributions located just downstream of the jump, however, exhibited a large scattering of measured data, especially near the bed. It was found that this scattering decreases with the distance from the end of the jump. The results of the experimental runs also indicated that, at a distance about nine times the post‐jump current thickness from the end of the jump, the non‐dimensional vertical profile of mean velocity has a shape similar to that at the pre‐jump section. A new reliable relationship was also proposed for calculating the local velocity inside both the wall and jet regions.  相似文献

A novel electrodeposition technique is developed to estimate time‐averaged convective local mass transfer coefficients. This method is based on the diffusion‐controlled deposition rate of copper. With an electrolyte solution consisting of H2SO4 and CuSO4, copper is dissolved at the anode and deposited onto the nickel cathode. The thickness of the copper, measured with an optical microscope, provides an estimate of the time‐averaged local mass transfer coefficient for the given location, and by depositing multiple layers, the coefficients under different flow conditions can be obtained from one cathode. The results for laminar flow in a smooth, round pipe showed good agreement with those calculated from the analytical Leveque solution. Results were also obtained for turbulent flow and demonstrate the potential for acquiring convective local mass transfer coefficients for various flow configurations.  相似文献

This paper presents a tool that enables the direct editing of surface features in large point‐clouds or meshes. This is made possible by a novel multi‐scale analysis of unstructured point‐clouds that automatically extracts the number of relevant features together with their respective scale all over the surface. Then, combining this ingredient with an adequate multi‐scale decomposition allows us to directly enhance or reduce each feature in an independent manner. Our feature extraction is based on the analysis of the scale‐variations of locally fitted surface primitives combined with unsupervised learning techniques. Our tool may be applied either globally or locally, and millions of points are handled in real‐time. The resulting system enables users to accurately edit complex geometries with minimal interaction.  相似文献

Many engineering, science, information technology and management optimization problems can be considered as non-linear programming real-world problems where all or some of the parameters and variables involved are uncertain in nature. These can only be quantified using intelligent computational techniques such as evolutionary computation and fuzzy logic. The main objective of this research paper is to solve non-linear fuzzy optimization problem where the technological coefficient in the constraints involved are fuzzy numbers, which was represented by logistic membership functions using the hybrid evolutionary optimization approach. Pyrolysis kinetics of thermal decomposition of bitumen was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). TGA experiments were conducted at multiple heating rates of 5, 10, 20°C min–1 up to 800°C to obtain the pyrolysis characteristics of bitumen. Weight loss curve from TGA shows that two different stages occurred during bitumen pyrolysis. Differential method has been used for determining the kinetic parameters and the best fit for the order of reaction was found based on the R2 values. Kinetics results confirm the presence of two different stages in bitumen pyrolysis with varying kinetic parameters. The average activation energy for the first and second stage was 29 and 60 kJ mol?1 and the average order of the reaction was 1.5 and 0.25, respectively. Experiments have been conducted with different reservoir sand. The effect of different source of sand reveals no effect on the pyrolysis behaviour of bitumen. A considerable difference was found with the pyrolysis of bitumen–sand mixtures and bitumen alone based on coke yield and activation energy. © 2011 Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering  相似文献

22 potential correlates of children's physical activity were examined. 201 Mexican-American and 146 Anglo-American families with 4-yr-old children were studied. Children's physical activity was directly observed in the evening at home on 4 visits for 1 hr each time. Anglo-American children and male children were found to be more active. Demographic variables explained 11% of the variance in children's physical activity. After adjusting for demographics, 3 children's variables and 6 social-family variables did not account for significantly more variance. Five environmental variables accounted for 11% additional variance. Variables observed concurrently with physical activity, such as time spent outdoors and prompts to be active, were highly associated with children's physical activity.
