Primary PTCA as a means of reestablishing coronary blood flow in the infarct related artery is preferable in certain subgroups of patients with acute myocardial infarction. While the success rate of primary PTCA is very high, the procedure is not without risk. We report a case of hemodynamic collapse during PTCA due to an Amplatz guide catheter-induced, acute, and reversible aortic insufficiency. With the increasing use of the left Amplatz catheter for better guide support during PTCA, this unusual and previously unreported complication should be borne in mind.  相似文献

PURPOSE: This study focuses on the quantification of genetic and environmental factors in arm strength after high-resistance strength training. METHODS: Male monozygotic (MZ, N = 25) and dizygotic (DZ, N = 16) twins (22.4 +/- 3.7 yr) participated in a 10-wk resistance training program for the elbow flexors. The evidence for genotype*training interaction, or association of interindividual differences in training effects with the genotype, was tested by a two-way ANOVA in the MZ twins and using a bivariate model-fitting approach on pre- and post-training phenotypes in MZ and DZ twins. One repetition maximum (1RM), isometric strength, and concentric and eccentric moments in 110 degree arm flexion at velocities of 30 degrees x s(-1), 60 degrees x s(-1), and 12 degrees x s(-1) were evaluated as well as arm muscle cross-sectional area (MCSA). RESULTS: Results indicated significant positive training effects for all measures except for maximal eccentric moments. Evidence for genotype*training interaction was found for 1RM and isometric strength, with MZ intra-pair correlations of 0.46 and 0.30, respectively. Bivariate model-fitting indicated that about 20% of the variation in post-training 1RM, isometric strength, and concentric moment at 120 degrees x s(-1) was explained by training-specific genetic factors that were independent from genetic factors that explained variation in the pretraining phenotype (30-77%). CONCLUSIONS: Genetic correlations between measures of pre- and post-training strength were indicative for high pleiotropic gene action and minor activation of training-specific genes during training.  相似文献

Deposition of durable thin film coatings by vacuum evaporation on acrylic substrates for optical applications is a challenging job. Films crack upon deposition due to internal stresses and leads to performance degradation. In this investigation, we report the preparation and characterization of single and multi-layer films of TiO2, CeO2, Substance2 (E Merck, Germany), Al2O3, SiO2 and MgF2 by electron beam evaporation on both glass and PMMA substrates. Optical micrographs taken on single layer films deposited on PMMA substrates did not reveal any cracks. Cracks in films were observed on PMMA substrates when the substrate temperature exceeded 80°C. Antireflection coatings of 3 and 4 layers have been deposited and characterized. Antireflection coatings made on PMMA substrate using Substance2 (H2) and SiO2 combination showed very fine cracks when observed under microscope. Optical performance of the coatings has been explained with the help of optical micrographs.  相似文献

A hybrid clustering procedure for concentric and chain-like clusters   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
K-means algorithm is a well known nonhierarchical method for clustering data. The most important limitations of this algorithm are that: (1) it gives final clusters on the basis of the cluster centroids or the seed points chosen initially, and (2) it is appropriate for data sets having fairly isotropic clusters. But this algorithm has the advantage of low computation and storage requirements. On the other hand, hierarchical agglomerative clustering algorithm, which can cluster nonisotropic (chain-like and concentric) clusters, requires high storage and computation requirements. This paper suggests a new method for selecting the initial seed points, so that theK-means algorithm gives the same results for any input data order. This paper also describes a hybrid clustering algorithm, based on the concepts of multilevel theory, which is nonhierarchical at the first level and hierarchical from second level onwards, to cluster data sets having (i) chain-like clusters and (ii) concentric clusters. It is observed that this hybrid clustering algorithm gives the same results as the hierarchical clustering algorithm, with less computation and storage requirements.  相似文献

E-beam evaporated aluminum oxide films were irradiated with 120 MeV swift Au9+ ions in order to induced nanostructure formation. Atomic force microscope (AFM) results showed the formation of nanostructures for films irradiated with a fluence of 1 × 1013 ions cm−2. The particle size estimated by section analysis of the irradiated film was in the range 25-30 nm. Glancing angle X-ray diffraction (GAXRD) revealed the amorphous nature of the films. Two strong Photoluminescence (PL) emission bands with peaks at ∼430 nm and ∼645 nm besides a shoulder at ∼540 nm were observed in all irradiated samples. The PL intensity is found to increase with increase of ion fluence.  相似文献

Use case narratives modeling the complex functionality of a given system often extend for several pages due to the need to include numerous alternative scenario specifications. In such situations, it is difficult to ensure the completeness and validity of the process logic embedded in such lengthy text narratives. This exploratory study investigates the benefits of supplementing each complex and lengthy use case narrative with an activity diagram for analysts and clients during requirements gathering and analysis. Our findings indicate that the process logic in corresponding activity diagrams is more complete and offers a greater degree of validity than that used in use case narratives. In addition, the quality of the process logic in these artifacts is not negatively affected by a use case narrative's length or complexity when they are used together to capture system requirements. Our research provides empirical evidence of beneficial improvements in the quality of these widely used artifacts that subsequently help eliminate or minimize inconsistencies among the requirements specified in different artifacts.  相似文献
