A high‐mobility organic semiconductor employed as the active material in a field‐effect transistor does not guarantee per se that expectations of high performance are fulfilled. This is even truer if a downscaled, short channel is adopted. Only if contacts are able to provide the device with as much charge as it needs, with a negligible voltage drop across them, then high expectations can turn into high performances. It is a fact that this is not always the case in the field of organic electronics. In this review, we aim to offer a comprehensive overview on the subject of current injection in organic thin film transistors: physical principles concerning energy level (mis)alignment at interfaces, models describing charge injection, technologies for interface tuning, and techniques for characterizing devices. Finally, a survey of the most recent accomplishments in the field is given. Principles are described in general, but the technologies and survey emphasis is on solution processed transistors, because it is our opinion that scalable, roll‐to‐roll printing processing is one, if not the brightest, possible scenario for the future of organic electronics. With the exception of electrolyte‐gated organic transistors, where impressively low width normalized resistances were reported (in the range of 10 Ω·cm), to date the lowest values reported for devices where the semiconductor is solution‐processed and where the most common architectures are adopted, are ~10 kΩ·cm for transistors with a field effect mobility in the 0.1–1 cm2/Vs range. Although these values represent the best case, they still pose a severe limitation for downscaling the channel lengths below a few micrometers, necessary for increasing the device switching speed. Moreover, techniques to lower contact resistances have been often developed on a case‐by‐case basis, depending on the materials, architecture and processing techniques. The lack of a standard strategy has hampered the progress of the field for a long time. Only recently, as the understanding of the rather complex physical processes at the metal/semiconductor interfaces has improved, more general approaches, with a validity that extends to several materials, are being proposed and successfully tested in the literature. Only a combined scientific and technological effort, on the one side to fully understand contact phenomena and on the other to completely master the tailoring of interfaces, will enable the development of advanced organic electronics applications and their widespread adoption in low‐cost, large‐area printed circuits.  相似文献

There are many studies on the solution-processed thin-film transistor(TFT)using transition metal dichalcogenide(TMD)materials.However,it is hard to control the electrical property of chemically exfoliated TMD materials compared to the chemical vapor deposition TMD.An investigation into the electrical modulation behavior of exfoliated two-dimensional(2D)material is important tofabricate weH-modulated electronic devices via solution processing.Here,we report the effects of reactivity of organic dopants on MoS2 and investigate how the chemical doping behavior influences the electrical properties of MoS2.The band state of dopants,which is related to the electron-withdrawing and donating behavior of chemical dopant,provides a proportional shift in the threshold voltages(Vth)of their field-effect transistors(FETs).However,on/off current ratio(Ion/Ioff)and mobility(μ)are strongly influenced by the defect density depending on the reactivity of doping reaction,rather than the band state of organic dopants.Through the in-depth study on the doping reaction,we fabricate a FET and a TFT,having high mobility and a relatively high on/off ratio(104)using a solution process.  相似文献

The conjugation of Eu3+‐doped coordination polymers constructed from Gd3+ and isophthalic acid (H2IPA) with silica particles is investigated for the production of luminescent microspheres. A series of doping ratio‐controlled silica@coordination polymer core–shell spheres is easily synthesized by altering the amounts of metal nodes used in the reactions, where the ratios of Gd3+ and Eu3+ are 10:0 ( 1a ), 9:1 ( 1b ), 8:2 ( 1c ), 7:3 ( 1d ), 5:5 ( 1e ), and 0:10 ( 1f ). The formation of monodisperse uniform core–shell structures is achieved throughout the entirety of a series. Investigations of the photoluminescence property of the resulting series of silica@coordination polymer core–shell spheres reveal that 20% Eu3+‐doped product ( 1c ) has the strongest emission intensity. The subsequent calcination process on the silica@coordination polymer core–shell structures ( 1a ‐ f ) results in the formation of a series of doping ratio‐controlled silica@Gd2O3:Eu core–shell microspheres ( 2a ‐ f ) with uniform shell thickness. During the calcination step, the coordination polymers within silica@coordination polymer core–shells are transformed into metal oxides, resulting in silica@Gd2O3:Eu core–shell structures. The final etching process on the silica@Gd2O3:Eu core–shell microspheres ( 2a ‐ f ) produces a series of hollow Gd2O3:Eu microspheres ( 3a ‐ f ) as a result of the elimination of silica cores. The luminescence intensities of silica@Gd2O3:Eu core–shell ( 2a ‐ f ) and hollow Gd2O3:Eu microspheres ( 3a ‐ f ) also vary depending upon the doping ratio of Eu3+ ions.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Granular cell tumor was first described by Abrikossoff in 1926. It is rare and usually presents as a benign solitary lesion. Multifocal and malignant forms are known to occur. METHODS: This presentation illustrates an additional case of granular cell tumor. Clinical and histological features to distinguish malignant and benign forms are presented. RESULTS: Tumor can develop years after therapy for the primary lesion. Treatment recommendations are presented. CONCLUSIONS: Patients diagnosed with granular cell tumor require close follow-up. Radiographic evaluation for the presence of metastatic disease is necessary if a malignant variant is suspected.  相似文献
