In organic light‐emitting transistors, the structural properties such as the in‐plane geometry and the lateral charge injection are the key elements that enable the monolithic integration of multiple electronic, optoelectronic, and photonic functions within the same device. Here, the realization of highly integrated multifunctional optoelectronic organic device is reported by introducing a high‐capacitance photonic crystal as a gate dielectric into a transparent single‐layer ambipolar organic light‐emitting transistor (OLET). By engineering the photonic crystal multistack and bandgap, it is showed that the integration of the photonic structure has a twofold effect on the optoelectronic performance of the device, i.e., i) to modulate the spectral profile and outcoupling of the emitted light and ii) to enhance the transistor source–drain current by a 25‐fold factor. Consequently, the photonic‐crystal‐integrated OLET shows an order of magnitude higher emitted power and brightness with respect to the corresponding polymer‐dielectric device, while presenting as‐designed electroluminescence spectral and spatial distribution. The results validate the efficacy of the proposed approach that is expected to unravel the technological potential for the realization of highly integrated optoelectronic smart systems based on organic light‐emitting transistors.  相似文献

Duplex stainless steels (DSS) fatigue crack propagation resistance is strongly affected by both microstructure and environment. In this work, environment influence on the fatigue crack propagation in a 22 Cr 5 Ni duplex and in a 25 Cr 7 Ni superduplex stainless steels is investigated considering three different stress ratios (R = Kmin/Kmax = 0.1, 0.5, 0.75). Tests are performed according to ASTM E 647 standard, both in air and under hydrogen charging conditions (0.1 M H2SO4 + 0.01 M KSCN aqueous solution, ?0.9 V/SCE). Crack fracture surfaces are extensively analysed by means of a scanning electron microscope. Furthermore, crack paths are investigated by means of a crack profile analysis performed through a light optical microscope. Nickel coated fracture surface sections obtained for constant ΔK values are considered in order to analyse the loading (R values) and environment influence on fatigue crack paths.  相似文献

In this article, a successful employment of carbon nanofibers (CNFs) as a filler in the unsaturated polyester (UP) matrix of a glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) is reported. Because of the high aspect ratio of carbon nanofibers, very small amount of these particles were sufficient to significantly modify the electrical properties of the obtained glass fiber composites: for this reason, nanocomposite matrices were produced using no more than 1 wt% of these nanoparticles. The goal of this work was to investigate the possibility to correlate the presence of a mechanical stress, or the onset of damage, in the composite produced, with the variation of electrical resistance. Following this goal, the electrical resistance of the samples was constantly measured during their mechanical testing. Two different kinds of load were applied: flexural and impact. It was possible to show that a systematic variation in the electrical resistance of the composite takes place in correspondence of both the growth of a flexural state of stress, and the creation of an impact damage. In the case of the flexural load, the electrical resistance versus strain curves provides information on the growth of damage well before such damage affects the stress–strain curve. In the case of the impact damage, electric resistance measurements were able to monitor the loss of mechanical integrity before the complete failure. BACKGROUND: In recent years the use of sulfur dioxide, a commonly used additive in winemaking, has been questioned because of its toxic effects on human health. Studies have been conducted to find alternatives that can effectively substitute for this additive in all its various technological functions. In previous work, lysozyme and oenological tannins were found as possible substitutes in controlling bacterial undesirable fermentations and phenolic oxidation. However, data on the volatile composition of wines obtained by that protocol are lacking. In this work, the effects on volatile composition of white wines by the substitution of SO2 during fermentation with lysozyme and tannin were studied. At the same time, the technological performance of two strains of yeast that produce low amounts of SO2 were evaluated. RESULTS: The results showed that both SO2 and lysozyme prevented the development of undesirable bacterial fermentations. The study of volatile compounds shows differences in the alcohol, acid and ester contents among the final products: wines fermented with strain 1042 and lysozyme had higher total alcohol concentration, while the addition of SO2 promoted higher production of 3‐methyl‐1‐butanol, 3‐methylthio‐1‐propanol, phenylethyl alcohol and 4‐hydroxy‐benzenethanol. Esters, as a total, were influenced by the different strain and tannins addition, while amounts of medium‐chain fatty acid ethyl esters and their corresponding fatty acids were found in higher amounts in wines coming from fermentations with lysozyme. The sensory analysis revealed a preference for wines to which lysozyme and tannins had been added. CONCLUSION: The data suggest that the addition of lysozyme and oenological tannins during alcoholic fermentation could represent a promising alternative to the use of SO2 and for the production of wines with reduced content of SO2. The composition of the volatiles in the final wines was affected by the different vinification protocols (mainly with regards to alcohols and ethyl esters). Thioacetate hexadecyltrimethoxysilane was deposited on SiO2-coated stainless steel to form a thioacetate-functionalized monolayer. In situ oxidation of the thioacetate yielded a sulfonate-functionalized monolayer. Solution deposition of TiO2 on this monolayer covered the stainless steel with a thin layer of the metal oxide (5-10 nm). Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and potentiostatic current transient demonstrated the efficiency of the corrosion protection in sodium chloride media, including protection against pitting corrosion.  相似文献

CD44 can be considered structurally and functionally one of the most variable surface molecules. Alternative splicing of variant exons as well as posttranslational modifications of the molecule (differences in glycosylation) generate a rich repertoire of CD44 isoforms (CD44v), some of which seem to play a key role in tumor growth and progression. Immunodetection of CD44 isoforms in vivo, using mAbs specific for CD44 variant exon products, is largely used to identify those CD44 molecules involved in tumor growth and progression and to interfere with CD44-mediated processes. In the present work we demonstrate that the immunoreactivity of some mAbs directed to CD44 exon-specific epitopes can be impaired by the structural variability of the molecule. Our findings demonstrate that (1) specific exon assortment and/or posttranslational modifications of CD44v molecules can mask CD44 exon-specific epitopes; (2) glycosaminoglycan side chains, carried by some CD44v isoforms of high molecular weight, may play a critical role in determining the exact conformation of the molecule, which is necessary for the detection of CD44 variant epitopes by specific mAbs; and (3) in a panel of stable transfectants expressing CD44 N-glycosylation site-specific mutants, generated in the constant region of CD44 extracellular domain, asparagine-isoleucine substitution is sufficient per se to impair the immunoreactivity of several mAbs to pan-CD44. Thus, conformational changes due to the alternative splicing of CD44 variant exons and/or posttranslational modifications of the molecule (different degree of glycosylation), which are cell type-specific, are likely to generate CD44 variants that elude immunodetection. These findings strongly suggest that immunohistochemical analysis of CD44 expression in vitro and in vivo, using mAbs specific for CD44 variant exon epitopes, can potentially be impaired by a large number of false negative results.  相似文献

In this work, the effect of 6 different fillers as a nanomodifier of phenolic matrix was evaluated in thermal stability and reaction to fire. The chosen nanoparticles were montmorillonite, silica, carbon black, and 3 carbides—boron, silicon, and zirconium carbides. The nanofillers were mechanically dispersed in the matrix, and the dispersion and distribution of the nanosized particles in the matrix was evaluated by transmission electron microscopy. The thermal stability of nanocomposites was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis both in nitrogen and in air while the thermal combustion properties were measured using a microscale combustion calorimeter. The experimental data highlighted the remarkable effects of nanoboron carbide on the thermal properties it can confer to the phenolic matrix. Rheological behavior of the blends was also investigated to evaluate the effect of the different fillers on the viscosity of the nanostructured matrices.  相似文献
