For the first time, a biomass electronic junction functioning as a conventional electronic diode inside green leaves of Vinka-rosa and Plumeria rubra mass structure has been experimentally predicted and studied. The experimental diode demonstrated appropriate conventional electronic diode characteristics. The predicted diode junctions were operated for forward and reverse dc voltage biases in the range of ±1 to 10 and 1 to 30?V respectively. The studies revealed a strong functional dependence on the water content of the green leaf. These studies are sequential to the very recently reported research work of Kosta et al. on bioelectronics and soilelectronics. The study speculatively forecasts the beginning of a new revolutionary era of green biomass electronic circuitry.  相似文献

The status of long length, Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+x (Bi-2212) wire development at the New York State Institute on Superconductivity (NYSIS) is reviewed and updated. Transport Jcs (4.2K, 0 T) of Bi-2212/Ag oxide powder-in-tube singlefilamentary tapes have reached 70,000-80,000, 50,000-60,000, and 30,000–40,000 A/cm2 for 1, 4–15, and 40–90 meter length tapes, respectively. The decrease in Jc as the tape length was increased from 15 to 90 meters was attributed to the (measured) sensitivity of Jc to temperature nonuniformities (±3‡C) in the box-type furnace used for annealing. To reduce this problem, a ringtype high-temperature furnace (∼3 meter diameter) was designed and constructed which provides a large-volume (∼13w × 10h × 10001 cm) processing zone with expected excellent temperature uniformity (±0.5‡C). The advantages of the ring-type furnace for processing of kilometer-length conductors are described.  相似文献

For the first time a biomass bistable transistor multivibrator using an NPN Philips transistor as the active device and freshly plucked green Champo (Plumaria rubra) leaf cuttings as electrical components (resistance R and capacitance C) has been realized. The frequency and other parameters of the generated pulses, along with the circuit configuration, are presented. The Internet is evolving from best-effort service toward an integrated or differentiated service framework with quality-of-service (QoS) assurances that are required for new multimedia service applications. Given this increasing demand for high bandwidth Internet with QoS assurances in the coming years, an IP/MPLS-based control plane combined with a wavelength-routed dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) optical network is seen as a very promising approach for the realization of future re-configurable transport networks. Fault and attack survivability issues concerning physical security in a DWDM all-optical transport network (AOTN) require a new approach taking into consideration AOTN physical characteristics. Furthermore, unlike in electronic networks that regenerate signals at every node, attack detection and isolation schemes may not have access to the overhead bits used to transport supervisory information between regenerators or switching sites to perform their functions. This paper presents an analysis of attack and protection problems in an AOTN. Considering this, we propose a framework for QoS guarantees based on the differentiated MPLS service (DMS) model and QoS recovery schemes against QoS degradation caused by devices failures or attack-induced faults in an AOTN. We also suggest how to integrate our attack management model into the NISTs simulator—modeling, evaluation and research of lightwave networks (MERLiN).  相似文献

In this paper, the application of high control authority piezostack actuators (PSAs) for active vibration control of large-scale flexible structures is studied. The idea is to add PSAs at appropriate locations of a flexible structure in order to strengthen its stiffness characteristics. In this regard, a flexible link of a macro-micro manipulator system actuated with PSAs is considered. The design of a mechanism for converting the force produced by a PSA to a bending moment is presented and a model for a system consisting of a flexible beam and a PSA is obtained. To this end, the solution of the governing partial differential equation with nonhomogeneous boundary conditions is obtained. Using singular value decomposition of the controllability Grammian of the system, optimum values for actuator parameters are obtained. The experimental results confirm that the suggested method can open up new possibilities in active vibration control of large-scale structures that require a large amount of control authority.  相似文献
