A high‐brightness electron source of ultrasmall emittance and high average current is one of the most important components for next‐generation light sources based on an energy‐recovery linac (ERL). Such a high‐brightness electron source can be realized by a DC photocathode gun driven by laser pulses tailored in the temporal and spatial dimensions. We propose a novel photocathode based on a quantum cascade laser (QCL). Since the ultrafast response of photoelectron emission from QCL is compatible with the tailored laser pulses, it is a candidate electron source for ERLs. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Two kinds of insulin were loaded into self-dissolving micropile array tip (following tip). Fully-loaded tip (f-tip) and partially-loaded tip (p-tip) were prepared using chondroitin sulfate for the percutaneous administration of insulin. One hundred micropiles were constructed on a 1.0 × 1.0 cm tip. The mean length of the micropile in a tip were 483.4 ± 4.7 μm for the f-tip and 492.6 ± 2.4 μm for the p-tip. The insulin content of the p-tip was 28.5% of that of the f-tip. The pharmacological efficiency of insulin loaded tip was evaluated in rat experiments by measuring their hypoglycemic effects. The maximum hypoglycemic effect of insulin was observed at 1.7 ± 0.2 h for the f-tip and 1.5 ± 0.2 h for the p-tip. Good dose-dependency was observed for the plasma glucose level vs. time curves. These results suggest the usefulness of p-tip as a percutaneous DDS of insulin.  相似文献

This paper proposes a new modeling approach for circuit‐field‐coupled time‐stepping electromagnetic analysis of a saturated interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM). To predict the drive performance quickly, the proposed approach consists of a dynamic simulator based on a new analytical model of the d‐ and q‐axis magnetization characteristics (λ‐idiq‐θ). The model can take into account not only cross‐saturation but also the harmonics of the inductance distributions and EMF waveforms. The validity of the model is verified from suitable simulation results for the instantaneous current and torque waveforms of the IPMSM. The proposed analysis leads to a dramatic reduction in the computation time compared to circuit‐field‐coupled time‐stepping FEA, while maintaining analytical accuracy. The effectiveness of the proposed method is experimentally verified using a 10‐kW, 15,000‐rpm concentrated‐winding IPM motor. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This paper presents a modeling methodology for unknown disturbances in mechatronics systems, based on disturbance estimation using an iterative learning process. In disturbance modeling, nonlinear frictions are specially handled as disturbances in the mechanisms, which mainly degrade trajectory control performance. Friction can be mathematically modeled by using learned estimation data as a function of the displacement, velocity. acceleration, and jerk of the actuator. This model has the distinctive feature that friction compensation can be achieved with a generalization capability for different conditions. The proposed positioning control approach with disturbance modeling and compensation has been verified by experiments using a table drive system on a machine stand. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Complex permittivity of polycrystalline AlN was measured over the frequency range 100 MHz to 13 GHz using reflection coefficient and cavity resonator methods. Dielectric relaxation peaks of loss tangent were observed in the frequency range 200 MHz to 3 GHz. The maximum value of loss tangent was ∼200 × 10−4. Relative permittivities decreased by ∼4% with increased frequency at the region of relaxation peaks. It was shown that these dispersion frequencies were inversely proportional to the grain sizes of AlN and independent of purities and processes. Model calculations for elastic vibration of a single-crystal grain of AlN were performed to investigate the origin of the dielectric dispersion due to piezoelectric effect. The calculated results of elastic sphere and 14-faced-polyhedron models showed a good quantitative agreement with the observed dispersion frequencies, which suggested that the dispersion was due to a piezoelectric vibration of a single grain of AlN ceramics at microwave frequencies.  相似文献

ABCD1 is a gene responsible for X‐linked adrenoleukodystrophy (X‐ALD), and is critical for the transport of very long‐chain fatty acids (VLCFA) into peroxisomes and subsequent β‐oxidation. VLCFA‐containing lipids accumulate in X‐ALD patients, although the effect of ABCD1‐deficiency on each lipid species in the central nervous system has not been fully characterized. In this study, each phospholipid and lysophospholipid species in Abcd1‐deficient mice brains were profiled by liquid chromatography‐mass spectrometry. Among the phospholipid and lysophospholipid species that are significantly more enriched in Abcd1‐deficient mice brains, VLCFA were present in 75, 15, 5, 4, and 1 species of phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, sphingomyelin, lysophosphatidylcholine, and lysophosphatidylethanolamine, respectively. Most VLCFA were incorporated at the sn‐1 position of phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine. Among the phospholipid species that are significantly less enriched in Abcd1‐deficient mice brains, odd‐numbered saturated or mono‐unsaturated fatty acyl moieties are contained in all phosphatidylcholine species. In addition, a number of phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylinositol, and phosphatidylserine species contained highly unsaturated fatty acyl moieties. Intriguingly, 44:1 phosphatidylcholine with VLCFA was mainly distributed in the gray matter, such as the cortex, but not in the white matter in the cerebrum and cerebellum. These results show that ABCD1‐deficiency causes metabolic alternation of long‐chain fatty acids and VLCFA. Moreover, our results imply a molecular mechanism for the incorporation of saturated or monounsaturated VLCFA into the sn‐1 position of phospholipids, and also indicate that the distribution of phospholipids with VLCFA may correlate with the development of X‐ALD.  相似文献

In this research, we propose and evaluate a decision support system using an interactive large-scale high-resolution display. This decision support system supports the summarization and decision-making of a large amount of disaster information during the occurrence of a large-scale natural disaster. Municipal employees at the disaster control headquarters can display disaster information on the large-scale display with a touch or flick on a laptop or tablet. To evaluate the operability, readability, functionality, and necessity of the decision support system, we surveyed 23 municipal employees in the disaster prevention division using a questionnaire. The system received a great evaluation in all the evaluation items.  相似文献

The effect of the amount of a water-soluble, lactose, on cephalexin (CEX) release from bioactive bone cement consisting of bisphenol--glycidyl methacrylate (bis-GMA), triethylene-glycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA) resin and apatite- and wollastonite-containing glass-ceramic (A–W GC) powder was investigated. A–W GC powder containing 5% CEX and lactose powders hardened within 5 min after mixing with bis-GMA/TEGDMA resin, and furthermore its compressive strength was expected to be higher than that of polymethylmethacrylate cement. In vitro CEX release from bioactive bone cement pellets in a simulated body fluid at pH 7.25 and 37°C continued for more than 2 wk. The drug-release rate increased with increasing amount of lactose powder in the mixture. CEX release profiles followed the Higuchi equation in the initial stage, but not in later stages. As hydroxyapatite was precipitated out on the cement surface, the CEX release rate decreased. The micropore distribution of the cements measured by mercury porosimetry also supported the variation in drug release due to cement porosity being mainly a result of the dissolution of lactose in the cements. These results suggest that the rate of CEX release from bioactive bone cement could be controlled by varying the amount of lactose in the cement system. © 1999 Kluwer Academic Publishers  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: This paper introduces a robust, real-time system for detecting driver lane changes. Background: As intelligent transportation systems evolve to assist drivers in their intended behaviors, the systems have demonstrated a need for methods of inferring driver intentions and detecting intended maneuvers. METHOD: Using a "model tracing" methodology, our system simulates a set of possible driver intentions and their resulting behaviors using a simplification of a previously validated computational model of driver behavior. The system compares the model's simulated behavior with a driver's actual observed behavior and thus continually infers the driver's unobservable intentions from her or his observable actions. RESULTS: For data collected in a driving simulator, the system detects 82% of lane changes within 0.5 s of maneuver onset (assuming a 5% false alarm rate), 93% within 1 s, and 95% before the vehicle moves one fourth of the lane width laterally. For data collected from an instrumented vehicle, the system detects 61% within 0.5 s, 77% within 1 s, and 84% before the vehicle moves one-fourth of the lane width laterally. CONCLUSION: The model-tracing system is the first system to demonstrate high sample-by-sample accuracy at low false alarm rates as well as high accuracy over the course of a lane change with respect to time and lateral movement. APPLICATION: By providing robust real-time detection of driver lane changes, the system shows good promise for incorporation into the next generation of intelligent transportation systems.  相似文献

The effects of the polymorphic form on the compression mechanism of forms A, B, and F of phenobarbital were investigated using a compression simulator, mercury porosimetry, X-ray diffraction analysis, BET gas absorption method, and scanning electron microscopic (SEM) photography. The order of tablet hardness obtained from all phenobarbital polymorphs was form A ≥ form B ≥ form F in accordance with that of the specific surface area. The Cooper and Eaton method was applied to evaluate two individual compression processes: particle rearrangement (phase I) and fragmentation and/or deformation (phase II). The parameters for compression processes were calculated using a nonlinear regression analyses program, and the compression energies of phases I and II were calculated from these parameters. The relationship between specific surface area after compression and compression energy at phase I showed a good linear correlation, but their ratio did not. In contrast, the specific surface area ratio showed a linear relationship with the compression energy on phase II, but again the ratio of these two parameters did not. The tablet hardness showed a linear relationship with the specific surface area ratio, but not with the specific surface area. Again, the ratio of these two parameters did not show a linear relationship.  相似文献
