Burnout Heat Transfer in Boiling under Conditions of Stepwise Heat Generation

The results of experimental investigations on the time of the onset of boiling crisis in nonstationary heat generation are presented. A standard working formula is suggested for determining the time of the onset of burnout heat transfer in a wide range of heat loads, subcoolings, and pressures.     

Deoxygenation of chemically treated water by catalytic reduction of oxygen using a palladium catalyst

The results obtained from experiments on studying the removal of dissolved oxygen from chemically treated water by subjecting it to catalytic reduction on a palladium catalyst are presented.     

Excitation of resonance free vibrations using parametric and force effects

Excitation of resonance free vibrations in a single-mass mechanical system using concurrent relay parametric and force effects is considered. The amplitude of stable free vibrations is found in a harmonic approximation.     

Estimating the efficiency of the vacuum deaerators used for treating network water at the Samara cogeneration station and their modernization

Results from experimental studies on analyzing the operating conditions of the vacuum deaerators used to treat makeup water for the heat supply network connected to the Samara cogeneration station are presented. Proposals for improving the design of the DB-800 deaerator No. 5 at the Samara cogeneration station were worked out, its retrofitting was completed, and thermal tests were carried out.     

Deoxygenation of chemically purified water at thermal power plants

A study concerning the effective thermal conductivity of plasma-deposited aluminum oxide coatings subjected to radiative heating over the 100–900°C temperature range
