Described is a new method of generating droplets by using the higher-order resonance mode shape displacement of a two-dimensional (2D) silicon nitride membrane array with multiple orifices, fabricated by a femtosecond laser. This higher-order resonance ejection method increases the flow rate per membrane on a 2D ejector array and introduces the capability to eject from various locations on a membrane. Combined with the simplicity and the functionality of femtosecond laser micromachining, the novel devices are especially well suited for continuously generating picolitre droplets for various applications in biotechnology and the semiconductor industry. 相似文献

Nontrivial negative capacitance (NC) effect, observed in a-Si:H/c-Si heterostructure devices, is discussed emphasizing the theoretical interpretation of experimental data. To explain NC effect, we have performed dark current voltage (I-V) and admittance measurements (C-V, G-V, C-f and G-f). The calculated values of series resistance (Rs) and barrier height (ΦBo) have the values from 100 to 114.7 Ω and 0.94 to 0.83 eV, respectively. Also, below 50% helium dilution rate, diode ideality factor (n) becomes bigger than 2, because tunneling at junction interface plays a major role. The measured room temperature (294 K) dark I-V result has been used during the fitting process for suggested capacitance model (Eq. (18)). The measured NC values exhibit strongly voltage depended behavior. This unexpected behavior is attributed to the presence of inductively coupled space charge region which might possibly be stemmed from the helium diluted a-Si:H material. It is seen that the measured NC values are well fitted with suggested capacitance model (Eq. (18)). Application of suggested correction formula on to experimental C-V data yields satisfactory results. It is shown that the calculated inductance values of the investigated device range from 10 to 42 μH and after correction, NC values are no longer observed in the Cd-V data. 相似文献

The adsorption of Acid Red 57 (AR57) onto calcined-alunite was examined in aqueous solution in a batch system with respect to contact time, pH and temperature. The first-order, pseudo-second-order kinetic and the intraparticle diffusion models were used to describe the kinetic data and the rate constants were evaluated. The experimental data fitted very well the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and also followed the intraparticle diffusion model up to 90 min. The Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption models were applied to describe the equilibrium isotherms and the isotherm constants were also determined. The equilibrium data are successfully fitted to the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The Langmuir isotherm constant, K(L), was used to evaluate the changes of free energy, enthalpy and entropy of adsorption for the adsorption of AR57 onto calcined-alunite. The results indicate that calcined-alunite could be employed as low-cost material for the removal of acid dyes from textile effluents. 相似文献
