The chemical synthesis of an EDOT derivative endowed with an electron acceptor anthraquinone moiety (AQ-EDOT) is described. The electrochemical polymerization of the monomer has been studied by cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and chronopotentiometry. The monomer oxidation-polymerization takes places on platinum at potentials more positive than 1.3 V vs. Ag/AgCl. The polymer film presents a stable redox process with E0 = 0.22 V, that can be assigned to the characteristic exchange process of the parent unsubstituted PEDOT polymer. An unstable redox process at E0 = −1.00 V, present decreasing charges on the consecutive cycles despite that the lost reduction charge is recovered by two irreversible oxidation processes taking place at high anodic potentials 0.00 and 0.16 V. A structural charge trapping effects occurring by reduction at −1.1 V and re-oxidation at 0.16 V of the anthraquinone moiety is suggested. The stable redox process is not affected by cycling allowing the obtention of the oxidation empirical kinetics, kinetic coefficients and reaction orders. Different initial states attained by reduction at different cathodic potentials for a constant time were explored for the kinetic study.  相似文献

Severe periodontitis is prevalent in Down syndrome (DS). This study aimed to identify genetic variations associated with periodontitis in individuals with DS. The study group was distributed into DS patients with periodontitis (n = 50) and DS patients with healthy periodontium (n = 36). All samples were genotyped with the “Axiom Spanish Biobank” array, which contains 757,836 markers. An association analysis at the individual marker level using logistic regression, as well as at the gene level applying the sequence kernel association test (SKAT) was performed. The most significant genes were included in a pathway analysis using the free DAVID software. C12orf74 (rs4315121, p = 9.85 × 10−5, OR = 8.84), LOC101930064 (rs4814890, p = 9.61 × 10−5, OR = 0.13), KBTBD12 (rs1549874, p = 8.27 × 10−5, OR = 0.08), PIWIL1 (rs11060842, p = 7.82 × 10−5, OR = 9.05) and C16orf82 (rs62030877, p = 8.92 × 10−5, OR = 0.14) showed a higher probability in the individual analysis. The analysis at the gene level highlighted PIWIL, MIR9-2, LHCGR, TPR and BCR. At the signaling pathway level, PI3K-Akt, long-term depression and FoxO achieved nominal significance (p = 1.3 × 10−2, p = 5.1 × 10−3, p = 1.2 × 10−2, respectively). In summary, various metabolic pathways are involved in the pathogenesis of periodontitis in DS, including PI3K-Akt, which regulates cell proliferation and inflammatory response.  相似文献

The study focuses on the reaction between hydrogen gas and LaNi5−xSnx alloys, where 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.5, in broad temperature and pressure ranges. It was performed by means of dynamic volumetric techniques using specific equipment developed at our laboratory. The substitution of Ni by Sn lowers the system equilibrium pressure and increases the hydrogen absorption reaction rate. Reaction pressures at room temperature range from 8 kPa (x = 0.5) to 250 kPa (x = 0). At 415 K the reaction pressure is within the range from 200 kPa to 4000 kPa for x = 0.5 and 0, respectively. The measured characteristic absorption time at 750 kPa for LaNi5 is around 1 min, while it remains below 2.5 s for LaNi4.5Sn0.5. The maximum H concentration goes from 1.3 wt.% for LaNi5 down to 0.95 wt.% for LaNi4.5Sn0.5. These results are useful to identify a metal system where the hydrogen interaction equilibrium properties can be tuned in a wide pressure range by choosing the chemical composition and the process temperature.  相似文献

The use of diffusers around the horizontal-axis wind turbines has been widely studied since the diffuser improves the power coefficient of the turbine and it is often called DAWTs (diffuser augmented wind turbines).Turbines using diffuser are called DWATs (Diffuser Augmented Turbines),and have efficiency bigger than the Betz limit (maximum energy flow extracted = 59.26%). Thus, this study presents a mathematical model describing the behavior of the velocity profile internally to a diffuser according to the characteristics of flow and geometry of a conical diffuser. The results are compared with experimental data and show good agreement.  相似文献

This paper presents the exergoeconomic analysis of a novel process generating electric energy and hydrogen. Coal and high-temperature heat are used as input energy to the process. The process is a true “zero-emission process” because (a) no NOX is formed during coal combustion with sulfuric acid, and (b) the combustion products CO2 and SO2 are removed separately as compressed liquids from the overall process. The process cycle is based on two chemical reactions. The first reaction takes place in an electrolytic cell and delivers the hydrogen product. In the second step, coal reacts with sulfuric acid in a high-pressure combustion reactor. The combustion gas is expanded in a gas turbine to produce electric power. The combustion products are compressed and separated so that almost pure CO2 can be removed from the cycle. The overall process is characterized by very high energetic and exergetic efficiencies. However, the overall process is very capital intensive. The electrolytic cell dominates the costs associated with the overall process. Detailed results of the thermodynamic simulation, the economic and the exergoeconomic analyses of the process including estimates of the product costs are presented.  相似文献

In this study, the authors examined the degree to which social-cognitive career theory (SCCT; R. W. Lent, S. D. Brown, & G. Hackett, 1994) explained the development of social justice interest and commitment. Data from 274 college students and latent variable path modeling were used to test theoretically and empirically derived SCCT direct and indirect effects structural models. The direct effects model estimated the direct effect of social supports and barriers on social justice commitment and the indirect effects model estimated the effect of social supports and barriers indirectly through self-efficacy. Overall, the present findings supported the use of SCCT within the social justice domain, as social justice self-efficacy and outcome expectations were useful in explaining the development of college students’ social justice interest and commitment. The present findings supported the indirect effects model of social justice interest and commitment over the direct effects model. Finally, unique to prior tests of SCCT in vocational and academic domains, social supports and barriers exhibited an indirect effect on commitment through outcome expectations. Study limitations, future directions for research, and implications for facilitating college students’ social justice interest and commitment are discussed. This work aims to demonstrate the applicability of dynamic optimization to improve the time-temperature schedule of a brewery mashing process, based on kinetic models available in the literature. The mashing process consists in the enzymatic degradation of the polysaccharides present in the malt. This is a fundamental step within the brewery activity since the composition of the mashing wort determines the quality of the final product. The main reactions that take place in the mashing are the degradation of starch, β-glucans and arabinoxylans into small chain fermentable and non-fermentable carbohydrates. The manipulation of the temperature profile of the batch reactor is the main mechanism to control the extent of the ongoing reactions. Since high temperatures favor the production of fermentable matter but also increases the concentration of undesirable species in the wort, the choice of an adequate temperature profile is not obvious. Dynamic optimization studies with a complete mashing model demonstrate that profiles of “temperature averages” of about 51 °C are preferred over typical industrial mashings of 64 °C to optimize the operation.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Biofiltration is a suitable odor reduction technique for the treatment of gaseous emissions from composting processes, but little is known about the start‐up of full‐scale biofilters after material replacement and their performance after several years of operation. RESULTS: Biofilter material (wood chips used previously as bulking agent in a composting process) can effectively remove ammonia and most of the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) content, achieving removal efficiencies greater than 70% for VOCs and near 90% for ammonia immediately after material replacement. These removal efficiencies were maintained for several months after material replacement. In the studied full‐scale biofilter no lag phase was observed in the removal of ammonia whereas in the case of VOCs different patterns were detected during biofilter start‐up. For the old biofilter material, after 4 years of operation, a statistically significant decrease of removal efficiency for ammonia in comparison with the new material was detected. No statistically significant differences were found in the case of VOCs. CONCLUSIONS: Data on the emissions of several pollutants from biofilters treating composting exhaust gases have been systematically obtained.
