Over the last few years, hydrogen technologies have established themselves as key enablers in the medium and long-term development of a new energy model that offers greater sustainability and independence than the present-day one. In this respect, the integration of water electrolysis with renewable energy-based systems can play an important part in the large-scale production of sustainable hydrogen. This paper reports on the complete experimental characterisation of a 1 Nm3 h−1 alkaline water electrolyser located in the Public University of Navarre (UPNa). Specifically, a study was made of the electrical performance, hydrogen production rate, purity of the gases generated and energy efficiency, for a range of operating currents (40–120 A), temperatures (35–65 °C) and pressures (5–25 bar). Additionally, an experimental study was conducted on the electrolyser operation under conditions that are characteristic of a stand-alone wind power and PV-based renewable energy system, installed at the UPNa. The results obtained for the wind power and PV emulations showed that the electrolyser performed correctly, with regard to balance of plant and its principal electrochemical characteristics. Furthermore, the mean energy efficiency of the electrolyser was 77.7% for the wind power emulation, and 78.6% for the PV emulation on a day with stable irradiance, and 78.1% on a day with highly variable irradiance (day with scattered clouds). 相似文献

Quality assessment of red bell pepper dices preserved through batch dehydration introducing tempering cycles were performed in this work. The parameters considered were: the percentages of ascorbic acid and final antioxidant activity retention, as well as the influence of calcium chloride on diffusivity and colour values. Although, a similar final moisture content was reached through different red bell pepper dehydration processes, but the one with tempering cycles had better qualities than those without tempering. Ascorbic acid and final antioxidant activity retention showed higher values and so were colour intensities compared to control samples in all cases. In respect to the effective diffusivity coefficients, there was an increment as the calcium chloride concentration increased. As of the treatments with tempering cycles, the best scheme was 15 min drying time and 30 min tempering time at 60 °C. 相似文献

Cooking Brassica vegetables as a domestic processing method has a great impact on health-promoting bioactive compounds: glucosinolates (GLS), flavonoids, hydroxycinnamic acids, and vitamin C. In Galicia (NorthWestern Spain), one of the most consumed horticultural crops is Brassica rapa, by using the leaves (turnip greens) and the young sprouting shoots (turnip tops) in different culinary preparations. In order to determine the effect of cooking, on turnip greens and turnip tops, bioactive GLS, flavonoids, hydroxycinnamic acids and vitamin C were analysed and simultaneously determined. The level of retention of each individual compound after cooking procedures was evaluated in the edible organs, and also in the cooking water, in order to compare their composition to a fresh uncooked control. Steaming, conventional boiling, and high-pressure cooking, traditional processing methods of this kind of vegetables, were the three domestic processing methods used in this work. Results showed that total GLS and phenolics were significantly affected by the cooking procedure and the loss rate varied among individual compounds. Steaming was the method that better preserved GLS and phenolic compounds. Conventional boiling and high-pressure cooking methods presented similar rate of losses of total GLS content (64%) and total phenolic content (more than 70%). Degradation among glucosinolate classes, aliphatic or indolic, was similar. The total flavonoids lost in turnip greens were 64% and 67% for conventional boiling and high-pressure, respectively. The main losses were caused by leaching into the cooking water. The concentration of vitamin C suffered a drastic loss in the process of sample handling and after cooking. Despite the fact that any cooking procedure affected negatively the nutritional composition of the turnip greens and tops, our results showed high retentions of individual compounds in steaming, and the lowest retentions were obtained in the traditional high-pressure cooking. High retention of health-promoting compounds in the cooking water should be considered for increasing the intake of properties of B. rapa. 相似文献

This paper shows that an important part of the power consumption of a biquad band‐pass filter is associated with the feedback loop that fixes the high‐pass frequency and blocks the direct current (dc) input signals. The dc input amplitude that can be blocked is related to the maximum output current that one of the transconductors can provide, hence impacting on the required consumption through this effect. Then, a technique that efficiently blocks the dc input signal and fixes the high‐pass frequency is introduced and analyzed in depth. Moreover, an architecture for ultra‐low‐power differential‐input biquads is fully presented. The proposed architecture enables lowering the power consumption or blocking higher levels of dc input without jeopardizing the power consumption. Results show that the proposed architecture, compared with a traditional one, presents a 30% reduction in power consumption and more than doubles the dc input that can be blocked. The promotion of electricity generation from renewable energy sources (RES) and combined heat and power (CHP) has resulted in increasing penetration levels of distributed generation (DG). However, large-scale connection of DG involves profound changes in the operation and planning of electricity distribution networks. Distribution System Operators (DSOs) play a key role since these agents have to provide flexibility to their networks in order to integrate DG. Article 14.7 of EU Electricity Directive states that DSOs should consider DG as an alternative to new network investments. This is a challenging task, particularly under the current regulatory framework where DSOs must be legally and functionally unbundled from other activities in the electricity sector. This paper proposes a market mechanism, referred to as reliability options for distributed generation (RODG), which provides DSOs with an alternative to the investment in new distribution facilities. The mechanism proposed allocates the firm capacity required to DG embedded in the distribution network through a competitive auction. Additionally, RODG make DG partly responsible for reliability and provide DG with incentives for a more efficient operation taking into account the network conditions. 相似文献

We have designed a configurable stand‐alone Matlab‐based software to simulate dichromatic perception of video streams. The algorithm used is an extension for video streams of the “corresponding pair algorithm” by Capilla and coworkers for simulation of dichromatic perception of images. The software allows the user to upload a video sequence and to process it using different dichromatic color vision models and viewing conditions. The output video may be generated in different spatial and temporal resolutions and file formats. Thin multilayer coatings of ZrO2–Y2O3–Al2O3 were prepared using the sol-gel method and dip-coating technique in order to advance in the study of what influence the incorporation of Al2O3 has on films of Y2O3-doped ZrO2, investigating its role in the synthesis of the solutions and in the characteristics and properties of the coatings. After the characterization of the solutions used in the process, the microstructure of the films was studied and their mechanical behaviour and resistance to thermal shock were determined so as to optimize the characteristics and functionality of these coatings. With increased alumina content, 3YSZ-Al2O3 (20 mol%), the cubic phase of the zirconia disappeared completely at the sintering temperature used (700 °C), resulting in the tetragonal phase with Al in solution. There was also a decrease in the coatings' hardness and Young's modulus, and an increase in toughness and resistance to thermal shock. These results allow guidelines to be established for the design of multilayer structures that are, tougher, more resistant, and have improved surface properties. 相似文献

Among several oil/water emulsion separation technologies, the utilization of nanoparticle-decorated membranes with diverse functionalities has received considerable attention in recent years, particularly if the antifouling capacity can be improved. In this article, we propose a new membrane based on surface-hydrolyzed polyacrylonitrile electrospun membranes and/or decorated with amine-functionalized Si-MCM-41 nanoparticles to be used as oil/water emulsion separation treatment and to determine their antifouling ability. X-Ray photoelectron spectrometry, attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and toluidine blue O assay, scanning electron microscopy, contact angle measurements for oil under water and thermogravimetry were used for characterizing the membranes and an assay of permeability was developed to quantify the diffusion of oil molecules across the electrospun membrane. The electrospun and/or decorated membranes showed an underwater oleophobic wettability, which can separate oil-in-water emulsions with 87% separation efficiency, results of fouling experiments, evaluated in terms of rejection and flux recovery ratio, exhibited good antifouling ability, but the membrane decoration process did not lead to superior outcomes compared with undecorated membranes. 相似文献
