Abstract— A cylindrical multi‐electrically driven liquid‐crystal lens (MeD‐LC lens) is proposed to extend the range of focusing. The MeD‐LC lens could be applied to switching 2‐D and 3‐D images by supplying a specific operating voltage on each electrode. Therefore, the MeD‐LC lens has less cross‐talk than that of a conventional LC lens. Furthermore, the simplified structure of a MeD‐LC lens with a homogeneous LC layer is much easier for fabrication without a LC‐alignment issue.  相似文献

Abstract— Polymer stabilization is introduced in VA‐type LCDs, and fast response time can be achieved along with a high contrast ratio.1 A small amount of reactive monomer is mixed with liquid crystal and forms a polymer layer above the alignment layer by using a UV process. The pre‐tilt angle of the liquid crystal is stabilized, and a faster response time can be realized when the bias pre‐tilt angle from 90° is increased. The properties of reactive monomers and liquid crystal and the conditions of the UV process were studied. Based on the application of the proper monomer and LC, and an optima UV process, a 65‐in. 240‐Hz full‐HD TFT‐LCD, with a faster response time and high contrast ratio, has been developed.  相似文献

Abstract— A full‐color bistable transflective cholesteric liquid‐crystal display (Ch‐LCD) was demonstrated by using an imbedded image‐enhanced reflector (IER) on top of each transmissive subpixel. The RGB colors were achieved by patterning conventional color filters on a black‐and‐white Ch‐LCD. In addition, the IER on top of each transmissive subpixel provides similar paths for the transmissive backlight and the reflected ambient light. A simple transflective Ch‐LCD was demonstrated.  相似文献

In this paper, an intelligent fuzzy sliding mode control system, which cooperates with a new learning approach called modulus genetic algorithm, is proposed. Furthermore, it is applied to a high precision table positioning system for verifying its practicability. Fuzzy sliding mode controller (FSMC) is a special type of fuzzy controller with certain attractive advantages than the conventional fuzzy controller. The learning and stability issues of FSMC are discussed in the paper. Furthermore, to overcome the encoding/decoding procedure that leads to considerable numeric errors in conventional genetic algorithm, this paper proposes a new algorithm called modulus genetic algorithm (MGA). The MGA uses the modulus operation such that the encoding/decoding procedure is not necessary. It has the following advantages: (1) the evolution can be speeded up; (2) the numeric truncation error can be avoided; (3) the precision of solution can be increased. For verifying the practicability of the proposed approach, the MGA‐based FSMC is applied to design a position controller for a high precision table. The experimental results show the proposed approach can achieve submicro positioning precision. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Abstract— The viewing freedom of the reduced‐view super multi‐view (SMV) display was analyzed. It was found that there are separate multiple viewing ranges in the depth direction; thus, a technique that selects an appropriate viewing range to increase the longitudinal viewing freedom has been developed. Pixels of a flat‐panel display viewed by the viewer's eyes through a lenticular lens were determined from three‐dimensional (3‐D) positions of the viewer's eyes, which were obtained using an eye‐tracking system that employed a stereo camera. Parallax images corresponding to the 3‐D positions of the viewer's eyes were generated, which were displayed by the determined pixels. The experimental results show that the proposed technique successfully increased the longitudinal viewing freedom. It is also shown that a video camera was able to focus on the produced SMV images.  相似文献

Bioethanol production from dry cashew apple pulp and coffee pulp was investigated. The pulp was digested with 2% sulfuric acid and subjected to high pressure (15 psi) cooking at 120 °C for 10 min followed by further 1 and a half hour pressure cooking at 90 °C to solubilize the pulp. Solubilized pulp was filtered and the debris on the filter paper was washed with minimum quantity of distilled water and then oven dried to find the weight of the insoluble lignin mass. Total sugar content in squeezed and dried cashew apple pulp (CAP), dry coffee pulp (DCP) and wet coffee pulp (WCP) was found to be 2.12, 1.62 and 0.62 g/100 ml of hydrolyzate. Reducing sugar content in squeezed CAP, DCP and WCP was found to be 0.14, 0.71and 0.23g/100 ml of hydrolyzate. Filtrate was neutralized with thick suspension of calcium hydroxide slurry until the pH reaches to 6.0. Neutralized slurry was kept at lab temperature overnight and the supernatant was decanted through filter paper. To 150 ml of filtrate yeast (Saccharomyces creviciae) was added at a concentration of 5.0 g/l concentration and subjected to fermentation for 48 h at 30 °C in a shaker incubator at 120 rpm. Ethanol content in the fermented broth was estimated by titrimetric and gas chromatographic method. Ethanol yield in the fermented broth was found to be 0.5, 0.46 and 0.46 g/g of sugar in squeezed CAP, DCP and WCP. Theoretical ethanol yield (Ymax%) of squeezed CAP, DCP and WCP was found to be 46, 9.35 and 40% respectively.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the impact of distributed generation (DG) on system stability using the trajectory sensitivity approach and identify the machines that are vulnerable to the addition of DG. We also vary the penetration level of DG and evaluate the influence of the DG modeling. Sensitivity formulation for the differential-algebraic equation model is presented through a single-machine infinite-bus (SMIB) example. The methodology can be extended to study the influence of parameters other than the clearing time, such as series line reactance.  相似文献
